the amp arrived today, and I just fooled around with the buttons until I came up with something that sounded good. Between the Pioneer DEH-80etc. and this there's a lot more tweaking than in the old days! I have 4 sets of comps, one in each door so they're all identical. I also have a matching crossover box for each comp with sep. cables going to tweet & 6.5 mid. I do NOT want to bridge this. I want full control over all four comps to adjust for placement strength etc. But I will say this, after listening for an hour in my driveway the thing went into protection mode...already! At one point on the fader, fading to ALL front made the sound (except sub) vanish,…

ok well ive been banned at caraudio.com til the 16th, but that site is gay anyways cuase half the people over there are arsehos and flame just cuase they dont like my speakers, and you guys seem to answer my questions faster and without 20 pages of spam, so im gonna just questions over here from now on lol. anyways, my 4 ma hk4000d's should be here soon, and im wondering what/how many batts, etc i need. i want to do 16v, but im not positive yet. each amp will be ran @ 2 ohm, and its for music, i will *rarely* burp them. i want these amps to last and not break lol. also, does anyone know if the little hk 2 ch amps can be run on 16v on music or not? 2005 tahoe running 2 runs of 1/0 cca and 3 batts juicebox black cherry, apple, and crescendo logic 31 Order a 270 amp 6 phase power coated red So I went ahead and order a stinger alt and was wondering a few things being the fact that I never had a beefed up alt before...would that be a problem running my stock and a stinger alt if not do I need extra part to do that. Do I have to run to different lines from the alt to the batts or can I just do alt to alt to batts...if so do I have to run the stinger alt first than the stock ???

g'day, i was trying to tune my gains the other day on my sax 200.4 with a test cd and multimeter i've used with several other cars and amplifiers. for some reason, the multimeter wont pick up any signal from any of the speaker outputs at all. i can turn the knob from 0.2v to 6v and not get any change off 0V, on any channel and any output. i'm using exactly the same method as i do with other cars and stereos and it's worked fine, but not with this amp. is there some trick to getting the sax 200.4 to measure through a multimeter or something? the meter i'm using is an Amprobe 5XP-A and it has plenty of battery left in it. thanks.

I have a feeling this is a pretty common problem that some of you have dealt with. So hopefully you can help me. I have a Fi BL 12 running off a sundown sae1200d. And when I play it at full tilt at idle, I get voltage drop into the 13.0 range (and sometimes even a bit less D:) Although when driving or holding the revs at about 2k, the voltage has no problem sitting at 14. I'm pretty sure this is an alternator issue. But ive heard that even HO alternator have poor output at idle. So what do I do? FYI- big three is done. And all wiring is in 1/0 Also, I currently have a quote from Excessive Amperage for a 200 amp alt for $385. Thanks in advance.

I recently bought a MMATS 2100.2 thinking it was a 2100 rms at 2ohm amp only to find out it is really a 1550 watt RMS and 2100 watt peak amp. WTF!!!! I am really disappointed about this, I wouldnt think a great company like MMATS would be so misleading. I bought the amp to step up power to my IA Death Penalty, I had a Kicker ZX1500.1. Well when I pulled out the Kicker and replaced it I found to my suprise that the MMATS wasnt as loud as my other amp. The Kicker is adverised as 1500 watts but originally came with a birth sheet showing that it tested arround 1700 watts. So I guess Kicker actually under rates there amps while MMATS advertises 2100 watts and only produces 155…

Alright.. So my Iphone has decided to stop working with my head unit. When i plug it in, it will either automatically go to error-01 (communication error). BUT, it also does something else I find very strange. It will sometimes play the very first song on my ipod. Doesnt matter whether I go to playlists, or certain artists, it will always switch to all songs and play the first song according to alphabetical order. (My headunit doesnt let me control songs through my ipod, i always need to switch using the head unit which is normal.) Ontop of this, if it starts playing the first song, i cant skip it, fast forward or even pause. This all causes it to go into an error-01…

Hey guys. I just got a Rockford T2000 today and I am a little confused. The birth sheet says it puts out more power at 2 ohms than it does at 1 ohm. Whats up with that? Here are some pictures of it.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34494_Boss-CE2200M.html I've heard many stories of Boss Audio not putting out the specs they say, but i have a nice build coming up in my uncles ride, my friend had a 1800watt boss 2 channel amp and it sounded pretty good, probably wasnt the watts the specs said though. but anyways, my plan 4 12s. sealed enclosure, subs facing up. they are 200rms each 400 peak. the amp puts out 750rms at 4 ohms. i know it most likely wont, but whats your estimate on the wattage it can put out at 4 ohms? money is tight and im not lookin to spend a whole lot on this, this is a fun cheap project, (the real project will be in my van) this build should…

Every site I've looked on says you can't put a double din with out modification. So if anyone has pictures of their build and how they did it that would be great. I don't want to jump into doing it and mess something up. I also don't want to have to pay someone to do something i could probably do on my own. Help!

I'm getting some 8 gauge wire for speaker wire for my BL 15 that's coming, and my friend's dad, (who is an electrician), said that there were some rather flexible jumper cables available at Menard's that would suit my needs. Now I've always been told wire is wire and copper is copper, but some of the 4 gauge welding wire I was looking at is rated for 90 amps and these cables are rated for 400 amps... I'm serious, it says right on the package 400 amps for these 8 gauge cables... Is that O.K? I'm pretty new to this electrical voodoo, so if anyone could say ya or ney it would be greatly appreciated.

(tweets wont be amp'd) I have no crossover or processors yet. My question to you guys is, how would I make this work? And what do you guys suggest I buy as far as crossovers and processing?

I just had a fun time fixing my charging system today so i thought i spill some info out there for ya. When you look at an alternator, you must understand it's purpose and how it will safely work. An alternator basically keeps your battery(ies) charged. In car audio, we usually tend to buy a H.O. alt because it will help run the system and\or keep the battery(ies) charged but it's not that easy! There are things you must know or damage can occur to your alt or batt(s)! 1 - If purchasing a H.O. alt, do NOT purchase only based upon what size you need to run your car audio install! BIG NO NO! Why? Alternator's charge batteries, not just run stereo equipment! If you have a l…

Need some advice, I need to purchase a 4 channel amp the choice between sundown 125.4 or ice 150.4 The only thing that's holding me back from buying the sundown is I've just read its a D class compared to the SPL ice 150.4 which is a a/b class. Would there be a big difference in sound quality on my mid & tops? I use a sundown 1500d v3 on the bass but I need a 4 channel to go with it. Thoughts please
