I currently own a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier that I am currently building a subwoofer install in. My complete and current installs: New Kenwood KDC-BT378U radio with built-in speaker amp, All new door and deck speakers. (COMPLETE) Big 3 Kit, Mechman 270 AMP Alternator, (1) Sundown ZV6 12" 2-OHM 2500W Subwoofer (wired to 1 OHM), One run of 1/0 gauge wire complete with fuse and capacitor), Fiberglass Subwoofer Box(Not sure what size yet, any help on this would be greatly appreciated) Just wondering if all the above installs with be able to comfortably power a 3000 watt amplifier to run the subwoofer properly? I will be running a 15" SI Mag in a 3.5cuft box tuned to 30hz and should be running a set of Hybrid Audio Technology Clarus C61-2 components. I'm trying to achieve a nice SQ oriented set-up that can still deliver a nice little kick. i have a 130 amp alt and a ever start battery up front i'm buying a audiopipe 15001d i was wondering if that would be sufficient for that amp if not i was thinking of a shuriken bt60 60ah and 1500 amps i want as minimal voltage drop as possible

I was just wondering. How much or what differnce does the volt rating of a HU make? I know the higher the volt that comes out of the HU, the louder the music plays. But I will like to get a professional response out of this. I.E. If I had an ideal system, lets say one 5-channel amp with all aftermarket speakers and sub. Will the system sound louder if I had an HU with 5v rating, or one with an 8v rating? I'm assuming that the quality build of the HU overall will make the difference at the end. I have my btl, and I am borrowing my friends sub amp to listen to the sub because I can't afford an amp just yet. I am dying to hear it. It is wired at 1 ohm, but really .7 ohm (DMM). It says the amp is 1 ohm capable, but It goes into protect when I turn the amp on. What could be the problem, maybe its not 1 ohm capable? or the .7 ohm is too low?

I have a feeling this is a pretty common problem that some of you have dealt with. So hopefully you can help me. I have a Fi BL 12 running off a sundown sae1200d. And when I play it at full tilt at idle, I get voltage drop into the 13.0 range (and sometimes even a bit less D:) Although when driving or holding the revs at about 2k, the voltage has no problem sitting at 14. I'm pretty sure this is an alternator issue. But ive heard that even HO alternator have poor output at idle. So what do I do? FYI- big three is done. And all wiring is in 1/0 Also, I currently have a quote from Excessive Amperage for a 200 amp alt for $385. Thanks in advance.

I bought a P800PRs from a online store, but they managed to send me the old version P880PRS. And since I live in Norway it's a big hassle to send it back to the US. Except from the black frontplate on the newer model and the copper plated chassis, are there any other differences between those two models?

Well I have most things at my place ready to be hooked up sometime soon. But theres one problem, thats with donig the big three with my alt. There is a plug on the back of it that plugs into the block, its a three prong plug and those seem to be 8 gauge wire. There are three wires goign to the block then two to the battery. I do not see a ground at all. Now I have no bloody idea how I would re wire all of that. I would need a new three prong plug able to support 0 gauge wire (I would think). Hello, I just placed an order on the SSA store for a sundown SAZ-1000.1D And i am in process of purchaseing some fuses and wold like a bit of help. Im running a 4 Guage from the front battery to a ANL fuse holder and it runs back to a mini ANL fused distributor block along to my two amps which will be the sundown SAZ-1000.1D(not shure what fuses it caries) and a Cadence Xenith series amp for my front components(This amp has a 30A fuse on it). What size fusing would you guys suggest me to use on my ANL fuse holder and my mini ANL fused distributor block?? Help would be great. Im trying to get prepared for when i recive the amps. Hello im new the audio world and am looking into getting my first system. I am looking at getting a Sundown SA-15 woofer, but am lost on what amp i should get. Im looking to spend around 150 or so on an amp but not sure what would be a good combo with the SA-15. Would an Audio Pipe AP-10001D be a good decision or an AQ 750. Any ideas?

Well im planning to buy either 1awg or 2 awg power wire from wire and supply to power my ppi black ice 1300.1d. I have all stock electrical.. but i need a fuse inbetween my battery and amp. What sizedo i get? The amp has 4 35amp fuses... does that mean get a 130 or so fuse? And should i get the anl fuse or the round one?... and is that wire the right size? Or should i be going with 4awg? Or like 1/0...

i got a kicker kx250.2 and a kenwood excelon x10d. the kenwood is a class d and fan cooled while the kicker is a class ab. is it ok to mount these upside down to my rear deck. im trying workout a place to hide them easily. any other idea's would be appreciated. car is oldsmobile intrigue. let me know if u need more info.

I bought the SSA XCON 15D2 + SUNDOWN SAZ-1500D COMBO last year and in my receipt I got to the e-mail that's all it says, it doesn't say if it's the V2 or not. I'm supposed to go to an installer on Monday to get it wired properly as my last installers didn't do it correctly and he just called me and asked if it's the V2 or not since on the V2 you can connect 0 guage to it and he'll have to pick it up in the morning from his warehouse if I need it. I don't know which one it is, and it's installed in my suv and it's installed in the jack compartment so I can't easily get to it, the only end I can see is where the speaker wires connect to.
