  1. CADENCE ZRS-8000D what do yall know about this particular amp past or present history. I know their old stuff was the sh@t but how are they so far as quality now? I see them for about 600 shipped and its strappable @ 2ohm plus its not a bad looking amp. Wanted to run 2 fully loaded btl12s in my Thunderbird tuned to 32hz. Wanna totally seal off the enclosure to the cabin as well. Trying to make a nice GP.

I can get my hands on a Kar 1000.2t and I just wondered if there were any good, mostly from a SQ perspective but for a daily driver not that fancy. Anyone know if this is a class AB...what apps it would work good for? http://www.realmofexcursion.com/ampguts/Arc_KAR_1000.2T/ I guess a cerwin vega and clarion are the same amp.

Well i think i will need a new amp kit, I am using a cheap 4ga ( American accessories ). But I just upgraded amps. I will be running an AudioQue 1200d, and Kicker 350.4 with a kinetik HC 800 in the trunk. I am leaning towards a Kicker amp kit, and a knu concepts. Will 4ga be enough?

Well I just got my battery from somebody on here that was selling them and I have to say I am pretty sure its no longer usable. The terminals are pushed in a good two inches and the plastic housing around them is pretty badly cracked. I can see the stuff inside of it as well. I bought a Boss audio blx 3500m amp about a year ago when i knew nothing about car audio and just tried to buy the cheapest amp i could find. I've read that boss audio products aren't that good. Is this true and does this reputation also go with this amp. I'm just wondering because i had it hooked up to a Boston Acoustics g5 12" single 4 ohm and the sub made a funky slapping sound (not tinsel lead slap, those are fine) that i could just not live with. Could this be a problem with the amp.

i have found a shuriken on sonics. its like 70 bucks but i dont know if it is the right size for my amp, i have a 1200watt brutus. i will be adding hids and a smaller amp for highs. do you think this will work for a second batt in the back?......may be my post is not clear i have bad dimming problems from my sub. i was going to invest into a batt to help this problem and also do the big 3. i donot want to wham on my sub due to the fact i hear if it is not powered correctly it will damage my amp and sub. i know i do not have anything crazy so i thought a small batt would suffice the systems power needs. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?app=forums&modu…

  10. hey everyone! i just finished building my first box today for my ssa icon and couldnt be happier. i bought the sub and amp used and i believe that the settings on the amp are off a bit. the sub hits the lows great (i tuned the box fairly low) but when it comes to even remotely high notes that should rattle my teeth out there is almost nothing there! and example is white girl but usda...it hits that low note like a champ but when it comes to the high one the door speakers are louder than the sub. i did some research and am thinking it has something to do with the low pass frequency and high pass frequency? also i have the gain turned all the way up...that was the only …

I have 2 alpine type r 12 DVC 4ohm subs In ported black box tornado series. My Kenwood head unit has a 2.5 volt Preout. I have had my gain on my alpine mrx m240 half way up with no bass boost and crossover set at 85 on the amp wired at 4 ohm putting out 1500 watt into 2 alpine type r. I got the smd distortion detector a few days ago to see if I was clipping . I live in the middle of no where and the local audio shop has no clue what they are doing so I installed everything and set gains myself. I used the smd dd1 and it at my max volume on the headunit which is 35 it shows my amp starts clipping at slightly above 1/4 on the gain . I rarely get my volume past 26 on the hea…

Hey guys, just to give you a low down on what i have. I have the 2 18 inch SSA prototypes 4,000 RMS being pushed with 1 (for now, soon to have two) AQX3500.1 in a 1997 honda accord SE, and a DC 270 XP alternator. Now, i live in Arizona which i know a lot of other people do who are on SSA forum. My amp is located in the trunk along with the battery. My box sits in the backseat. I am having HUGE cooling problems with the amp because no AC can get to the trunk and the trunk is forced to deal with full exposure unlike most SUV's. The fan helps but i still can't quite seem to get it out of protect and if it does, it takes 5 minutes with the trunk open and the fan running. Not …

I have a 12'' dc lvl 4 in a box; 2 cf tuned to 30 hz. I have an audiocontrol epicenter which will be replicating fast-paced bass down to the subwoofer level (rock music). Would it be worth it to run the sub at 4 ohms as opposed to 1 ohm? 1 ohm would of course be cheaper, but would I notice much of a difference (considering the bass will be rather fast-paced) if I bought a 4 ohm 1000w amp? what amp would you guys recommend? I know a DC sub isn't the best choice for SQ, but I already have it frontstage is a pair of hertz mlk 165's powered by a ZED kronos alpine 9887 hu.

Sup guys quick question, What do you think would be the best amp to accommodate a sundown audio sa8. The sub would be in a ported enclosure around .8 cubic ft tuned about 31-32 hz. I want use for daily driver not spl. I know it's rated at 400rms but do you guys think it can handle more? For amps I like rf kicker jl I've owned all three, never had problems. It's just very hard to choose the correct amp. Usually I have the same brand for both sub and aml but sundown doesn't have a amp around 400rms (at least not in my price range) I mean I wouldn't wanna spend the extra dollars for something like sae1000. Sure there will be headroom but I don't plan on upgrading this is g…

Some of you may remember the build I did for my sister in her 2002 Durango and the resulting review I wrote for her 12" DCON afterward, may not. It currently consists of a Kenwood KDC-X493 HU, Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 components in the front, JBL GTO 6.5" coax's in the rear doors, the DCON all powered by a Hifonics ZXi8010 five channel amp. Now, I mentioned in the review that it was easy to reach the limitations of the amp and hear it through either the highs or the sub. We did a little playing around recently and connected that DCON to my Sundown in the van and there was a night and day difference. I would attribute most of that to the MAJOR headroom the SAZ2K has at 2 o…

Amp: 1200x1 at 2 ohms Subs: 2 DVC 4 ohms subs wired to 1 ohm I'm using a DMM to set the gains and my guestion is: Do I set the gains using the formula volts = SqRt of(1200 x 1) or volts = Sq Rt of (1200 x 2) The difference is 34.6 volts for the 1200 watts at 1 ohm and 48.9 volts for the 1200 watts at 2 ohms

Plan on using the Hifonics, rated at 750w rms for my SSD 12" coming in soon but I was thinking about a JL 500/1 which is a class D versus A/B on the Hifonics. Is $150 a good deal for a used JL 500/1? I would think the JL offers a clean 500w and I've read the Hifonics are overrated. Which one would you guys go for? Thanks! Sunny

  23. Hey guys, buying a new amp soon, past two used sundown amp purchases fell through so im just gonna go with one of these. My only question is which one of these would be better for what i am doing. I will not have the sa-12s for about a month to 2 months. I would like to buy the amp now. I currently have a jl w6v2. Which amp would work better to do this? i am leaning towards the 1200.1d because the sa-12s are rated for 600rms. I am planning to do as little electrical upgrades as possible also. But if it would be absolutely worth it i would do it for the 1700. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_23922_Hifonics_BRZ12001D.aspx or http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudi…

well long story short, i may be getting back the massive 3k today. i did trade my close friend and he isnt liking the way it sounds so i told him i would trade him back if he really wanted. so that being said, i have had a few offers on the massive. either sell for $315 shipped to a guy on c.a.c.o, or i was offered a LNIB crescendo bs2000. so my question is, should i sell the amp outright and pick up this other aq2200 for $275-300, or trade it for this almost brand new Bc2000? which ever amp i go with now, i will be adding a second one and linking them together to the zcons which are d2's so they will run at a 2ohm load. iv been sitting here at the computer now for 2 ho…
