hey everyone! i just finished building my first box today for my ssa icon and couldnt be happier. i bought the sub and amp used and i believe that the settings on the amp are off a bit. the sub hits the lows great (i tuned the box fairly low) but when it comes to even remotely high notes that should rattle my teeth out there is almost nothing there! and example is white girl but usda...it hits that low note like a champ but when it comes to the high one the door speakers are louder than the sub. i did some research and am thinking it has something to do with the low pass frequency and high pass frequency? also i have the gain turned all the way up...that was the only …

So I've been researching ground connections, always trying to learn more about a subject, since I was upgrading some things its always a good time to refresh my memory. I've basically come across several ways suggested to make a good ground, and there are a few that stand out to me. 1) Using dielectric grease to seal moisture out of the connection area, with the idea that when you crank down on the nut to secure a ground lug to the chassis it will push this grease out of the way so the metal connects properly together and helps seal out moisture. 2) White lithium grease. I've seen this mentioned several times, but I truly feel it may be an outdated recommendation. …

Would anyone on the forum have suggestions regarding fair market value for the following US Amps USA 2000x? I recently purchased a new set of Definitive home audio speakers and am looking to possibly trade rid my old set to a friend for the US Amps USA 2000x pictured below. I've been out of the car audio loop for quite some time and appreciate your feedback. Thanks-Chris

I have my btl, and I am borrowing my friends sub amp to listen to the sub because I can't afford an amp just yet. I am dying to hear it. It is wired at 1 ohm, but really .7 ohm (DMM). It says the amp is 1 ohm capable, but It goes into protect when I turn the amp on. What could be the problem, maybe its not 1 ohm capable? or the .7 ohm is too low?

i have found a shuriken on sonics. its like 70 bucks but i dont know if it is the right size for my amp, i have a 1200watt brutus. i will be adding hids and a smaller amp for highs. do you think this will work for a second batt in the back?......may be my post is not clear i have bad dimming problems from my sub. i was going to invest into a batt to help this problem and also do the big 3. i donot want to wham on my sub due to the fact i hear if it is not powered correctly it will damage my amp and sub. i know i do not have anything crazy so i thought a small batt would suffice the systems power needs. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?app=forums&modu…

I sent back to AD & was told there is nothing wrong that all outputs on low mode are working . other issue i get a clock ticking sound from ch 1 & BT keep cutting off every few seconds or minutes.

Without having to delve too deep into the world of signal reproduction and the discrepancies in what the human ear perceives, can someone please simply explain distortion, how it relates to us simple "daily system" people, and the relevance/relativity in terms of overall distortion of "-40 dB from the fundamental." I read this article, and I understand the basic concepts presented, but I was wondering if anyone could put it in more of Laymen's terms. Thanks!

Well im almost done with my Bravox components install and I was wonderin, could I just hook those up to 2 of the channels and not use the rear. No bridging... just using the 2 channels alone. I just want to hear them before I install my rear. Thanks.

Hi guys, my current amp is starting to give me some issues (well I think it is). It is an option audio OA1200 powering a Fi Q12 at 1ohm, and I have had it for about 5 years now but I don't think it's dealing too well with a 1ohm load (it has been running at 2ohms till now when I got the Q). When I initially hooked everything up I set the gains using my oscilloscope, the HU did not clip even at full volume, and the amp started clipping at ~1/3 turn using both a 60hz and 30hz sine wave. Anyway, a couple of weeks later I noticed the sub was getting hot, which should not really happen on 1200w,so i decided to inspect the system again. I checked my 4 channel amp, and that was …

I need to update my double din head unit and looking for some recommendations from experienced people. I have used Alpine iLX-207 which offered me 7 inches touch screen which was easy for me to access all features. The most great thing for me about this head unit is that I can easily manage the system via the screen or from the steering wheel to use Apple Car Play or Android Auto. But recently it stopped working and just showing the dark screen (as its very long I have not upgraded it). Now I am thinking of upgrading it rather than repairing. I have check out few reviews and got various recommendations from few people. I am impressed with this review: https://speake…

I need a 5/6 channel amp for one of my cars. I need about 75-150 or so watts per channel on channels 1-4, and a 5th (or 5th and 6th bridged) channel to run a sub with 500-1000 watts. I was looking at the following: US Amps AX-5600 US Amps USA-5600x (getting hard to find) Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4 + 1k Memphis Belle 16-MCH1300 The only problem with the latter two is that they are most likely made in China... which is a huge turn off for me given my recent experience with chinese made amps. Anyone have any other suggestions? Sub is unimportant at the moment, as it will be picked after the amp is. I'm trying to stay under $500, if possible, but that is not a hard cap. I alos wan…

Yesterday we put the stereo in my cousin's Silverado. We had a remote wire problem and need to pull the HU out today. We noticed last night that his dome lights won't turn off now, even after pulling the key and shutting the doors for a while. It's never done this before until now, is there any chance fixing the remote wire will solve this problem?? Thanks

I was just wondering if 4 of these batteries will be good for a car audio system. 2,000 watts RMS? This is the only best battery that I can fine in my own town. I can't get XS Power or anything like that. They do sell Kinetik at this one place but they are marked up 50% higher then SonicElectronix & I don't want to mail order any car batteries. There Shuriken batteries at another store too. there marked up high like the Kinetik. I like to buy them in store, If anything gose wrong with them. I can just drive to the store & return it. These Nautilus AGM Deep Cycle batteries are in stock ready to buy. Motomaster Nautilus AGM Deep Cycle 12 volt Battery C$259.99 Brand …
