I just got my pioneer 80prs installed in my Malibu yesterday. Love it! I see pioneer put up a few YouTube vids of how to operate. Basically there is a switch on the unit itself for a standard mode or network mode. Network seems to open a lot of features up according to reviews. I am NOT running active, but would love more features to tinker with. Anyone have any specific knowledge of these 2 modes? I don't want to remove the deck to change the switch if its not needed for my setup. Any info needed please ask

Hi Looking for some help with this please - on whether I should expand: I have the following setup: - Sony headunit (not sure what model but it its only 25w x 4 with ~2v preouts - Alpine MRV F300 - Alpine SPX 17PRO component set - Alpine SBR S8 4 subwoofer I have connected the SPX 17 PRO set to two channels of the F300 amplifier. I have bridged the other two channels of the F300 and connected this to the subwoofer (only 150W RMS). I don't play my music at or near the full volume often. Would you recommend adding a monoblock to the system (maybe Alpine M500) to drive the amplifier? I don't often have anyone in the back seat so have not put another set in t…

I have an older 4 channel class AB amplifier that was made by Dragster Audio Art. Amplifier goes straight into protect. I asked Chris at dB-r a couple years ago and he said more than likely it was bad output fets. Chris does not work on older amplifiers like this anymore. I am looking for some feedback on Ampmedics more than anything as we know what kinda quality Mr. Mantz is known for. Here is a couple board shots of the amplifer. It is actually a great amplifier and was solidly built in the EU (European Union).

If i have stock alt a kinetik 3800 and a kinetik 2400, only one AQ 2200 right now, i was wondering if my ascendant mayhem 12" dual 2 ohm could handle that?

I know this may sound kind of odd, but is there any way that i can run a car amp out of my room wall socket? I was thinking maybe something like a 12v DC adapter from some random thing, but i don't want to fry my amp. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Mike B.

I needs some help with my setup, i have a fi audio sp4 15" fully loaded 1 ohm sub, i have it powered by a hifonics colossus amp i cannot even bridge the amp, but i cant get the amp turnt up at all without it clipping im using the bass knob for it and i can get it up about a quarter of the way before it starts clipping. I'm running all 0 gauge wire and i have a 350 amp alternator why is the amp clipping so bad?? im never dropping below 14 volts and it still clipping really bad, any ideas why the amp is clipping so bad??

I'm looking for a HU with a super clean look that has a decent amount of EQ capability, can take an aux source (planning on installing a carputer) plays cd's and has some good bass management. It's going to go into the expedition and power the stock speaks ATM untill I get a new front stage which is the next step in the evolution of my car remodel along with the car puter this winter and subs by next spring. I have read on a few websites the pro's and con's of D class and Class AB, right now I have a US amps md42, and I am looking to buy a new high amp and really want to try a D class. Anybody out there have any real world experience or advice? BTW, I would like between 150 and 225 watts per channel @ 4 ohms. Looking for a 4 channel. Thanks for any help.

I feel like this question has been asked, but I did scour the web and went 30 pages into this forum looking for advice. But I still have questions! When installing a second battery, some say get the same as what's under your hood, but some say it doesn't matter. Opinions? How do you suggest securing it in a trunk? For a battery such as an xs, do I need to put it in some sort of case? If the batteries are wired in parallel, do I need to hook up my speakers and sub to the second or can I just leave them on the front and the rear battery will flow through it? Okay ppl I'm not really a beginner with stereo systems but I am a beginner with the more powerful stereo system set ups i guess you could say... a few questions I have... 1. How do you know whether you do or you don't need additional batteries and amplifiers to run your set up? 2. How do you determine how many batts/alts you need? 3. Ok, I just got this amp from a friend, I was unaware I needed a 300 amp fuse for it, but I hooked it up anyway without one. It works fine without the fuse, but Kicker plainly states it needs the 300 amp fuse. So, I go to a local shop and buy the Kicker fuse holder and a 250 amp anl fuse, they did not have 300 amp fuses so I figured 250 was better than nothing. Also, Kicker recommends 1 gauge minimum, I have 2 gauge power and ground in the car now, I plan to upgrade ALL wire to 1 gauge, but my question is, will the 2 guage hurt the amp while I am scrounging money for wire? Hello everyone. There have been numerous times where my voltage drops to 11.7. I usually have a constant 12.8, or 12.9 (never 13 ) On idle with music a little bit up (volume knob at around 20 out of 30) and/or other electronics in car I'm around 12.5 but when I'm at idle and my music is up it can get to 11.7-11.8 I have a 96 civic. Stock alt is 70amps. I have a kinetik 800 under hood and big three done with 1/0 kicker wires. Those are currently the only electrical upgrades I have. You guys pick. Memphis amp or Viper amp. Viper claims to put out more power, the memphis is rated at 1100 but birth sheets that I have seen prove that it can put out 1200-1300 watts. So im finally ordering my dream system for my 2003 Dodge Dakota Crew Cab, Its gonna consist of 2 15" d1 SSA Icons in a box approx 8cubic feet tuned around 28hz (will be getting someone on the forum to design it. a Crescendo BC2000D, and a Kicker KX600.4 for my Hertz Hsk components, I know I need some upgraded electrical, so far Big 3 Is done in 0 guage. i have a m1d1 usamps amp. it says its a mono amp so does that mean i can only run one sub off of it cause the way it looks it has a pace for two. and if i can run two will they be getting the same power if wired up the same. say if i wire it to one ohm will they both be getting 1200 watts?

question is if im runnning stock alt, big 3 done, and a freshly new crescendo bc2000d pushing a fi bl 15,at 1 ohm. if i get a kinetik battery would it solve dimming problems on a stock alt or should i cut my losses with that idea and save a bit more for my sweet 270 amp mechman alt.

Sorry, the topic may be a little vague. I've recently found myself researching amplifiers as I may be replacing my zapco c2k 9.0xd amp shortly. I have 2 12" dvc subs with 1ohm per coil, and they handle 1800wRMS/ea. they're situated in a 4.2cu/ft box tuned to 30hz. The zapco puts out around 2200wRMS and I was looking for something a little closer to the subs rated input or over. So I've been working on a spreadsheet to compare different amps to try and discern a value. The only dash kits for my car are ugly as hell and are known for malfunctioning. I would like to use a tablet as a "head unit". Is there any way I could use a 3.5mm audio jack to a split RCA to get a signal to a sub amplifier and a 2 channel amplifier? My stock system sucks and doesn't feature usb and I don't feel like tapping into my speakers with a line output converter.

What's up yall. I'm new to this. I have a 08 double cab Toyota Tacoma for right now. Might get rid of it. Electrical is big 3 upgrade, zues lithium 10-ah, 0 Guage copper ofc wire. Amps, ampere 75.4 and rockford t1500.1bdcp. 4 6.5 dream series 6.5s. Ampere 3.0 v3 12 4th order 2.5/1 ratio tuned to 47hz. Amp is goin out due to friend I let use ran on poor electrical at .5 ohms not knowing so. Sub is locked up due to when it was upgraded motor wasn't torqued right and shifted. Will fix in the future but I'm set on getting a supercharged dd 3500 series 12 next. Will be running 2 in the future as well but buying only 1 to run next year. Also upgrading amp and trying to decid…
