  1. Started by ShaneSauce,

The only dash kits for my car are ugly as hell and are known for malfunctioning. I would like to use a tablet as a "head unit". Is there any way I could use a 3.5mm audio jack to a split RCA to get a signal to a sub amplifier and a 2 channel amplifier? My stock system sucks and doesn't feature usb and I don't feel like tapping into my speakers with a line output converter.

I plan on buying an active compatible HU, but was wondering how setting crossover points on an HU works? If I am using external amplifiers, with crossover settings, do the settings on the HU ignore those, and just use the settings programed in the HU? Or would I have to set crossover settings on the amp which are equal to those on the HU? Specifically I will be running a US Amps AX-5600. Help is much appreciated. This will be my first active setup.

I recently sold my amp, m3a, looking for a new amp under $1000 and wanting brand new. The amps I am considering are a M3b and SAZ3500D V.2 but not sure why I would pick one over the other. From comparing the older models it seems the saz3500d v.1 produced more watts than the M3A so is the M3b comparable to the SAZ3500v.2? This amp will be powering a BTL N2 and will be wired down for .5 ohm on a 12volt system. Need some advise

Finally got an email back from Fi, and they recommended an American Bass VFL amp. First time hearing about these. I've done some searching and they sound great. The problem I have is where to get these at a good price and from a respectable company/person. The prices on the net are all over the place. I was initially set on getting a Sundown amp, but now these. Any links would greatly help, I need a Christmas present for myself

  7. Whats going on guys, I'm facing a little dilemma. About a month ago I ordered two SSA Xcon 12's, I was planning on running them on my Audiopipe APCL3000 monoblock, but from what I hear these things are comfortable at a little above their rated power handling (1750 rms each), so I decided that I was going to only used the Audiopipe 3000 to break the subs in, then I will be upgrading to a bigger amp (maybe a 4000-5000 watt monoblock). I ordered my subs at DVC 2ohm so that I could wire them both in series up to 4ohm, then wire the subs together in parallel to give my Audiopipe amp a 2 ohm load, because that's where its stable and makes its power at. But now I can't find an…

Over the last month I've been prepping my car to power the Ethos I have on order. So far I've replaced the front battery with an Optima Yellow Top Group 34/78, done the Big 3 in 1/0 ofc, installed a 220 amp HO alt and made a positive and negative run of 1/0 to the rear (positive fused within 18 inches of post with 250 amp anl fuses). For now the rear battery is not installed. I have the negative taped off and the positive run stops at the rear fuse holder. Over the weekend I decided to hook up the amp that I plan on using for the front stage to power my entire system I'm currently running. It's a Hifonics (I know some of you are cringing right now) X14 Brutus X1200.4. Pow…

So I have the LC2i LOC. It says to use a 1 to 2 amp fuse for the power. Is this really needed? Someone I spoke with told me they don't think its required because the fuse on main power should act as fuse. And if an issue occurred then it should pop the fuse on the main power line. Is that correct? Just wondering if I should go find a 1 amp fuses?

I feel like this question has been asked, but I did scour the web and went 30 pages into this forum looking for advice. But I still have questions! When installing a second battery, some say get the same as what's under your hood, but some say it doesn't matter. Opinions? How do you suggest securing it in a trunk? For a battery such as an xs, do I need to put it in some sort of case? If the batteries are wired in parallel, do I need to hook up my speakers and sub to the second or can I just leave them on the front and the rear battery will flow through it? These are just a few examples of questions because I am completely blind and when it comes t…

I have a side post stock battery is there a way that I can put adapters on the stock battery to connect the ring terminals? One last question about the batteries....do I connect all positives to each other and all negatives to each other?

You guys pick. Memphis amp or Viper amp. Viper claims to put out more power, the memphis is rated at 1100 but birth sheets that I have seen prove that it can put out 1200-1300 watts. 24. I have: mechman 270 amp 2 kinetik hc2000s 0 gauge knuknoceptz with big three -1 hifonics brz1200 (subs) rockford prime (highs) I installed the mechman alternator it said in the instructions to NOT ground to the body as it will cause problems so I skipped this step. My question is do I need to ground the battery in the back if the one up front is not grounded to the frame? I have ran the batteries in parallel using 0 gauge on the - terminals amd + terminals so is this step really necessary? My next question is using a distribution block. I have a 0 gauge distribution block that splits into two 4 gauge terminals. I have my hifonics grounded to the frame with 0 gaug…

I have an old KENWOOD kdc138 in my Mazda Tribute currently .. It only has one pre-out which the manual says the pre-out is for the rear/sub signal out .. Currently I have a mono block that is receiving the signal from the pre-out. What I want to do is add an external amp for the front and rear with still keeping my mono block. How can I do this all with only one pre-out? Another question is what is the difference between the front signal and rear signal pre-outs on a receiver that has multiple pre-outs?
