I just picked up an amp off a buddy of mine, and 2 of the allen head screws to tighten down the speaker wires are stripped. Was just wondering if any of you knew where to pick those up at individually? I'd rather get phillips head screws to replace them so I don't have to hunt down an allen set everytime I need to adjust something. Thanks

I have done a few searches and have come up empty. Does anyone on this forum have and experience with this? I know it has been done several times before. To be more specific I want to use just the screen from the i-pad 3 as a monitor. If anyone has done something similar before please share some of your hard earned knowledge. Thanks.

  5. what is going on here? i had a ZX1500.1 for 5 and a half years with zero issues on stock electric between 3 different vehicles. My ZX2500.1 died earlier this year after only about 4 months of use, i sent it off to kicker for repair and got it back, not long after i lost my sub and had to buy a new one. this amp as is has been used less than a month and a half. i was bumping at close to max volume day before yesterday, i arrive at my destination with time to spare so i sit in the truck with the engine off for about 45 min doing paper work with the stereo on at 1/4 volume. i had to run into the store so i shut off the truck accessories and go in, i come back out and turn …

I do not want to run an amp @ 1/2 ohm. I have two dual 2 subs. I can get a Massive P3000.1 for $618.99, bnib, but it has to come over the border, so I'm not sure what border fees will be and stuff. MA Audio HK4000D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14753 MA Audio HK802SX http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14738 I've heard both of these are power hogs.. I was thinking of going with a 200 amp alternator, and some extra batteries, would this be enough? I haven't found the batteries yet. I could also buy two SAZ-1500Ds, old heat sink design from dB-r. However that is really more than I'm wanting to spend. What else is out there?

So as of yesterday I now have a small amount of noise creeping in . Nothings changed . I have two batteries under the hood , both are grounded to the frame with 0 gauge. The alt body is grounded to one of the batteries. All the amps are grounded to a distribution block which is grounded to the frame ,and body . I'm going to check all the connections , but am I doing something wrong. I never had any noise before yesterday.

Hi, I recently purchased a used Alumapro 15 Farad Cap. The guy I bought it from was using it with no relay or solenoid which Alumapro provides when purchased new. Am I ok with using it how he had it with no accessories? I've asked around but not many people are too familiar with The CAP. Thanks!

I have a 2008 dodge caliber and I would like to put a double din in it. I could use some help on getting some head units to choose from. I plan on spending between $300-600, more if needed. I'm looking for a head unit that has 3 sets of pre outs, usb, good eq(more than just a 3 band eq), time alignment would be nice (just incase if I ever decide to mess with all that). navigation and bluetooth is all optional but wouldnt hurt. I also have the zed ra, if that makes any difference. one that I have looked at is the Pioneer AVH-P3400BH for $300. Any suggestions and experience on some would be much appreciated.

Im not necessarily in need of a high output alt right now; however, I would like to make the purchase while I have some funds so I dont end up screwin myself over later on if I decide to upgrade the system. I know that many on the forum will recommend DC power, Mechman etc. but I rather not spend $600 on an alt if possible. After searching around the web for a bit I came across qualitypowerauto.com. I searched my specific vehicle and noticed that they have an option of a 200 amp alt for $285, an unbeatable price as far as I know. My question is, could it be possible that this is a legitimate alternator and wont turn out to be a waste of money? The websites notes that the…

I was looking at getting the Kicker KX3 Crossover to let me run active. I'll have a pair of Ascendant Audio Carbon Fiber Mids and a set of Morel tweeters. A 4 Channel will be powering the speakers. If I wire the tweets on the front channels and mids on the rear channels, should I be all set? I'll obviously bandpass the mids, and just use the HPF on the tweets. Ive read the manual, but the controls are odd. I looked into the AudioControl 4XS, but this is cheaper new. Thanks for the help

So i purchased a stetsom 7KD and I am curious what the external fuse rating is. i looked up the manual online but it only has info for the two ohm version. The one i purchased is the one ohm 12 volt version. Also when i install this amp I will add another battery or two to what i have.I have noticed that a lot of setups have unfused connections on their terminals. As of now i have two batteries with two fuses 12 inches from each terminal. so if i install a third would i need another two fuses or would that only be necessary if they were a certain distance apart? And of course when i do the install i will do another positive run and dual input terminals. Thanks

Im going to be strapping my 2 audiopipe apsm1300, essentially the master amp will control both amps. The amps strapped together are suppose to do ~2000watts @ 2 ohms. Is it possible to hook them up strapped and do DMM tuning by putting the probes on each amps terminal? The master amp is the + and the slave amp is the - ... does this work? ~63volt for the DMM meter... sqrt(2000 * 2ohm)

I have a Kenwood x793 HU. I love the features on it. I use a USB 16gig thumb drive 95% of the time. I do compete. I am currently at around 146-147 db. The problem is the faceplate shuts off at high volume. This poses a problem as you can't turn the volume down or anything when it goes off. If I press in the faceplate it will not shut off. My question is has anyone ever had this issue and if so how did you fix it? I thought about soldering jumper wires from the faceplate to the HU. I never take the faceplate off. I'm not sure this would work or not. Thanks

  21. I’m trying to see if someone can answer this question for me in simple terms. Basically I want to know what is going to happen to my signal as it’s going to be transferred and how multiple equalizers, crossovers, and gains will affect it. So basically, my head unit has a built in equalizer and crossover (they’re not that great though.) From my head unit the signal will go to an external equalizer I have. From the equalizer the signal is going to go into a stetsom 3way 6 channel crossover. The crossover is a crossover (obviously). From the stetsom crossover the signal will go into my full range amps. I have 2 amps, one for mids and one for highs. Now to make things even …
