so, i tried searchin...but said i cant search for "big 3" because of html codes or something. but i was wondering, about how many feet of 1/0ga did you guys use to do your BIG 3? i ask because i wont have my car untill next week and im gonna go ahead and order my amp kit, wire etc... thanks -jonathan

Ok so I am about to add a battery soon to my system and I was talking to a local audio place and he said an idea and wanted to make sure it would work without issue's. So When i run my wire back from my front battery I need to place a fuse close to that battery, Then everyone always says you should place another fuse right before the rear battery on the same power line. Then I wasn't for sure if you need another fuse between the rear battery and the amp also since its only like a 2-3ft wire of power?... But ok.. so he said instead of buying a fuse near my rear battery and a fuse between the amp and rear battery ( because this would = 3 total fuses ) He said on the rear b…

How do you guys strap your rear battery's down from moving? Im trying to add a second battery to my s10 and im kind of stumped right now, i have a few extreme idea's but its alot of damn work. I did it in my tahoe but it was easy, perfect spot under rear seat, this one will be where the rear fold down seat would be in an extended cab S10. what i have right now is the seat removed and I built a false floor in the area, I have a battery box but its too tall for this battery, i could cut it down maybe 3-4" but im afraid its gonna look horrible. i could also build like a battery box out of wood and screw it down, but my woodworking skills arent the greatest either, probably w…

I read on here that there's really no reason to buy the 9886 (or anything at that level) and that the OP should either go up or down. As the title states Would it be possible and worth it just to use my cap as a voltage meter? I know caps are useless but i already have it and i dont want to buy a volt meter when i have one on my capacitor. So do you guys think it will be ok, iv heard that sometimes caps can mess up your electrical but not too sure on how caps work and what there designed for. Any info on what to expect would be great, its an easy hook up process and would like to use it if it doesnt mess anything up, thanks in advance

is it bad to run your amps during the winter

I am running an saz 1500d and 100.4 and I have a stock 145 amp alt. I already have a red top optima battery in the oem spot but I need another battery for the back can I use another red top or should I get the yellowtop? will a red in the front and yellow in the back be ok because they are different? About ready to start putting batteries in this compartment in my car and need to line the wall with some sort of padding so the batts are not just wedged in there around wood. I figure I might as well go ahead and get something that can keep this compartment somewhat warm so i can have the edge in better performance during the cold season for when I compete. So, any thoughts? For the side walls, i have about 1\4" gap on each side of the batts for reference sake. Front and rear, I have 1 1\8" gap in front and behind batt bank. I also have room to put something under them as well but if i do , it must be severely thin, like 1\8" thick, no thicker.

How do i know what size fuse to get? 20 amp or 300 amp? Is it a preference thing or what? Anybody care yo elighten me...

My radio make my subs "pop" when I change tracks and turn off the car. I have tried replacing the rca's that didn't help. differnt head unit stopped it. But I wanna try to keep my kenwood. Any sugestions. I have heard that there is away to stop it just don't know how.

i have a 12in SSD, hifonics 1208d amp (i know, i know). i have the hu settings as follows: sub level 10 out of 15. bass on 0 (-7/+7). then on the amp the bass eq is set around halfway, and the subsonic is set around 27-28 i believe. when i have the gains about 3/4's and the volume around 20/35, i start smelling WOOD. im like 95% sure its wood, and not glue from the sub. but i haven't heard of anyone else say anything about this. am i just a noob or what? im afraid to turn mine up cause of this. also, how much of an effect does all this have on the battery and alt? i have all stock wiring and plan to do big 3, just haven't got the money yet. i baby it most of the time. if…

Hi all, I'm in the market for a new amplifier, I'd like to see something that will do 2-2500 rms and prefer something that will run @ .5 ohm. I've ran American bass VFL's in the past and have had good luck with them. Does anyone have any suggestions otherwise? I'd like to keep it around the 4-500 dollar mark.

So If I have the ZED Leviathan amp and the AudioControl DQL-8, and they both have crossovers. 1. Which would you use, the crossover in the ZED amp or the crossover in the AC DQL-8's? 2. Why? BTW the Leviathan and EQL-8 are going into two(2) sets of Bravox Audio CS60K components and one(1) SSA DCON 12D4. Please don't recommend anything other than the two crossovers available in the two units mentioned. TIA!

My sister is looking to add a sub and amp to her 07 charger. She came to me and I showed her a few things. Prices are too high. I'm trying to get her into a single 12" ia lethal injection or fi Q possibly icon. So we're looking at around 1000 watts rms. showed her the sundown 1000.. Too much ($289). What do you guys recommend in the $150 or so range for an amp? Is something of fair quality able to be had new for this price or is used the route I'm going to need to take? I have read a few things that say that a 2nd bat. is useless unless competing because in some comp. the motor is off.... as i do not compete i was wondering if a 2nd bat would be usefull to stabilize voltage or a HO alt. I have a 2002 grand prix gtp with the big 3 done in 4awg knu knocepts wire and some 4awg monster cable. I have a sae-1200d.v2 and i am going to be getting 2 sa-12s. I am hoping to have both loud and good sq system in my car? just wondering what others are thinking and comments... thanks
