I was looking at getting the Kicker KX3 Crossover to let me run active. I'll have a pair of Ascendant Audio Carbon Fiber Mids and a set of Morel tweeters. A 4 Channel will be powering the speakers. If I wire the tweets on the front channels and mids on the rear channels, should I be all set? I'll obviously bandpass the mids, and just use the HPF on the tweets. Ive read the manual, but the controls are odd. I looked into the AudioControl 4XS, but this is cheaper new. Thanks for the help

My jvc kw nx 7000 is buggin' out and they want $50 plus shipping for me to send it to Colorado to diagnose it before they can even give me an idea on price. Has anybody ever dealt with a company for touch screen repair? I am reluctant to spend 70-100 just to send it out to be told it is another 400 to fix. Any ideas?

School me a bit here, if your running a higher input voltage say going from 12/14 to 16, is it easier on the amp to run a lower ohm load? or does it depend on the amp generally. kinda just trying learn a little more about how amps work. about to buy a new alt and batts here soon, thinking about doing a separate 16v system for my bass amp. (two alts, stock, and a 16/18v) and was wondering if i would be able to run the ohm load down a little more? im a noob obviously so flame me if you must, just trying to get some info. thanks for any input.

As the title states Would it be possible and worth it just to use my cap as a voltage meter? I know caps are useless but i already have it and i dont want to buy a volt meter when i have one on my capacitor. So do you guys think it will be ok, iv heard that sometimes caps can mess up your electrical but not too sure on how caps work and what there designed for. Any info on what to expect would be great, its an easy hook up process and would like to use it if it doesnt mess anything up, thanks in advance

so i recently bought 2 sundown sa 12's, 1 saz 1500d, a box that the subs came in tuned to 34 with about 3 cubes, and a spare battery plus 2 gauge wiring all around ( i think) for $1000 bucks. i traded the battery for a new box from a friend of a friend thats 4.5 cubes and tuned to 28. i also bought a new kenwood deck with the setting to turn down bass in your car ( cant think of the term for it atm) to go with these subs. when we first hooked them up we had them on 35 which is max for the deck and it slammed. but since then ive turned them up to 35 on the song put on by jeezy and at the lowest note my subs shut off entirely (including music) for a sec or 2 and i turned it…

Hey ssa jfreezy here with another question. Is there a difference in sound between 1200rms and 1500rms or is it just spl? Wired to 1ohm will I hear a difference between the both with same amp settings? I'm choosing between a sundown audio sax 1200 or a saz 1500. I want to power two SA 10s or SA 12s at 1 ohm. Ported tuned about 33-34

Hey all.Im curious about hooking up two planet audio bb2 2400 watt rms amps. Here is my question. When haveing to of these amps hooked together it says its 2 ohm stable. My subs are dual 4 ohm and I have 2 wired to 1ohm.If I bought another BB2 how would it work?Like would each amp rung at 1/2 ohm or what since the subs are dual 4 ohm?If so,would I be better off to run 1 amp to each sub and run each at 2 ohms?Would this make me louder at all doing each at amp at 2ohms or would I be about the same? My electrical consists of a 220 amp alt,All 1/0 wireing including big 3 in 1/0 and I have a extra batt in the back. Thanks and let me know please.

Since a week or two, my Pioneer head unit has some problems. Sometimes the "face" doesn't respond, as if there is no power to it. It can happen with the music playing or with the h u off. If I unplug and the plug in the car fuse for the h u, eveything starts working again. If I press the reset button on the h u it starts working again, but I loose some settings. Do you know (or understand) what is happening ? Can it be a simple fix, or will I need to buy another h u ? Please help !!!

As title says has anyone had any experience/problems with mechman alternators? I'm going to pick a new alt up this week but can't decide between ordering a DC or a Mechman. DC is $629+ shipping and mechman quoted me $449.99+shipping. I called DC on Friday but got know answer and emailed them from their website on Friday and awaiting a reply. I have looked over their topics on this forum and see some complaints with shipping/communication but know one's perfect and I just want to know if saving a couple of $$ is worth it in the long run. 18. So I made this thread here And so far it seems that either I get some kind of amp or not bother with stock speaker replacement. I was thinking of getting smallest amp possible to power the speaker replacements and hide it in dash, taking power and ground from factory harness would be even better, but finding such an amp, that's challenge. How about Alpine KTP-445 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22630_Alpine-KTP-445.html Would I be able to just cut the wires and connect speaker wires to my speaker wires and ground and power to the ones in Toyota harness ? I woas thinking of these speakers for replacement... Fronts http://www.woofersetc.com/p-8696-sc95-boston-acoustic…

Hey guys, just to give you a low down on what i have. I have the 2 18 inch SSA prototypes 4,000 RMS being pushed with 1 (for now, soon to have two) AQX3500.1 in a 1997 honda accord SE, and a DC 270 XP alternator. Now, i live in Arizona which i know a lot of other people do who are on SSA forum. My amp is located in the trunk along with the battery. My box sits in the backseat. I am having HUGE cooling problems with the amp because no AC can get to the trunk and the trunk is forced to deal with full exposure unlike most SUV's. The fan helps but i still can't quite seem to get it out of protect and if it does, it takes 5 minutes with the trunk open and the fan running. Not …

I'll start by listing all the equipment used in the vehicle (2008 Dodge Caliber) and say that all of this has been installed and working fine for months until tonight. Starting up front, we have a 230amp DC alt, hooked to a factory replacement Duralast battery under the hood and the big 3 in 1/0. There's a fused power wire running from said under hood Duralast to Kinetik 1400 in the back near the amplifier, then on to the amplifier which is a Hifonics bxi1606D wired to 1 ohm. This amp is powering a pair of D4 Skar VVX12s. Now on to the problem, tonight we started the car and immediately noticed a sound/noise coming from inside the amplifier on the power/ground/speaker ter…

So today, after work, I got in my car, turned on my radio, and my amp and everything turned on and my sub was playing, but I now have no music. At all. I know this is probably a n00b thread, but please help! I'm dying without my sub lol
