bought a 1200d from a CA.com forum member in december 2009. hooked it up to verify that it was working in my buddy's car, but it whined pretty badly. all the cables were properly run. about a month ago i built a box and bought a sub and installed them in my truck. the amp has the same whine it did when i bought it and i also noticed has an "power surge", like there's faulty wiring. and yes, the amp is what is whining. i thought it was just the songs we played to test it but apparently not. i relocated then replaced the power cable replaced the ground and relocated the ground with no change. when playing, it's almost like the bass knob was turned down and at random times t…

  4. so... i was at BestBuy the other day. just looking. and came across the cda-117. ive always liked the look of the unit and the fact that it has 4v pre-outs... well, i looked at the price and it said $177 clearance. (this means once they are out... they're out) so get it while you can! i was like WHAT!?! so i bought it on an impulse buy. lol. its about #50 from Crutchfield. and lowest i can find is about @285 from an UN-authorized dealer. http://www.crutchfield.com/s_500CDA117/Alpine-CDA-117.html?search=cda-117&skipvs=T SO... if you guys are looking for a nice HU on the cheap, go snatch this up! i was honestly gonna buy the other 2 they had when i got my paycheck and r…

My amp is out for delivery!! Just wondering if the remote that comes with the AQ2200D is remote gain or just a subwoofer level controller. I've heard that remote gain is bad, but the opposite only controls the level up to where the gain is set. Reading back through that, it doesn't really make sense.. Hopefully you guys understand what I'm asking

Hey everyone I need ur help on this setup of mine. I want to get two audio q 2200 amps powering 2 fi btls. How do I make sure that both amps are drawing the same amount of power and giving OUT the same amount of power to each sub?

  8. http://www.audiopipe.com/ I popped an amp quite a while back and have been running with one sub partially acting as a PR, making my port non functional as well. When I finally realized what the issue was... I spent lots of time, made numerous threads, vids, and posts, even sold my old subs and got different ones....I called AP. Jackie told me to look for my receipt. Sure as shit, it was one year to the day...so she said send it in. Talked to Jackie on the phone again today, she's shipping the amp out. When i called the first time, I mis-spoke as I often do. She said I blew a channel, I said no..it's a monoblock. I think it was hott as hell when the gal put me in my place …

I drive an 03 Dodge ram....I am looking into a Sundown SAZ3500D (my dream amp....haha) and I was told that it pulls 300A and that my truck alternator puts out 120A max. I was for sure planning on running another battery for the amp, but another alternator and more upgrades? what all is required to upgrade to be able to use the 3500D? Is it worth it? Fill me in.

Ok my first post here guys, I sold my MTX terminator's i know haha really cheap 12's with a crappy amp but to me they honestly weren't that bad although i haven't heard anything other than that and kicker comps. i'm just now starting to learn about car audio. right now i have alpine cda-105 HU alpine type r coaxial 6x8s up front alpine type r coaxial 6x9s on the rear deck I was gonna get a 4ch amp and a mono block amp but i came across 5ch amps so u get your high's n mids and sub channel all in one amp the kicker zx700.5 looks like a pretty good deal and i'd probably come out cheaper getting that vs buying a 4ch and a mono block amp my question is would 70x4 be enough …

So I am currently running a Cadence iA7 and couldn't be more pleased with it's performance. I just ran across a deal from friend who is selling a RF Power T1500-1bdCP brand new for $300. I know I will get substantially more power from the Rockford and I think I am going to switch the two out unless someone tells me why they would keep the Cadence over the RF. Give me your thoughts!

First of all I used the forums' search feature and I did not find any topics under "impedance rise". I currently am powering my XCON with a Crescendo 3kwp. I set the amplifier gain and ssf with my dvm. My XCON is wired for 1 ohm. With a little math my wrms output of my 3kwp should be around 1750 using -3db test tones ranging from 32-60hz. So here is my thoughts on impedence rise. I used a dvm and test tones to set my amplifier gain. This does not take into account any impedance rise between the narrow band of frequencies that my XCON plays. It also does not take into account any inconsistencies in the recording level of the music I play. Wouldn't it be beneficial for me t…

Can someone please help me with my radio. I put my sundown amp to it, and my radio started to fry!! now theirs no output from my speaker wires from behind radio. (I disconnected amp, and rewired back regular). I tested all wires, and it seems that one speaker output does in fact give a little static. Im guessing I fired the outputs in the radio. Can anyone help me fix this problemo

  25. A few days back I got in my car to head to a friends house. Started the car and as my head unit turned on I heard a sort of pop/thud noise coming from my trunk. It wasn't too loud, but I then noticed my sub wasn't playing. Looked back there and the amp wasn't on. It had worked fine the day before. I checked fuses, grounds, and the remote wire to make sure it was fine. Amp still wouldn't turn on. I opened up the amp and I didn't see any burn marks or any apparent damage, but I took some photos to see if any of you guys happened to know anything... There is one 30A fuse, and the rest are 40A; hoping that had nothing to do with the amp not turning on, its been that wa…
