Cant decide which amp to get for a 10" Fi Bl with BP Power and Flatwind coil. It will be ported @ 33Hz under the rear seats of a ford f150

ok so I installed my singer 250 alt amp and did the big 3 using knu 1/0 ofc. . the volts with nothing on stays at 14.6. I can turn it up full tilt and it ranges from 13.8 - 14.1.. So my question is why do my headlights still dim? It's not on every song either. I can play tech n9ne so dope or TI on purpose and its perfectly fine. I can play something with alot less bass like lil wayne god bless America and it looks like a light show. Am I going to have to break down and install a couple batteries or what? trying to avoid it because im running out of room. oh, im running a 12 inch zcon on a crescendo bc3500

I have a really small 2-door car. I need a ballpark on how many ft of 1/0 to buy to do the big 3.

I really have all green lights in my truck and i think having a volt meter on the dash or center console or whatever would be pretty cool. Everyone seems to have stinger volt meters.. They dont come in green that i have seen so i have seen some "slim volt meters" or something like that... Do they work good? And how do you actuly attach them? Any comments will be productive. Btw... Ik its only like 6 bucks but i dont have a credit card so would be a hastle to get it especially if it isnt worth it. Thanks for any commenct

welp guys... I was lookin at the batcap 800 for my friends Integra Couple of reasons im considering this over a group 51 Yellow Top it has WAY MORE CCA Its lighter and it costs the same Also, its black, so it doesnt draw attention like a Yellow Top would Only problem i can see is RC, the stocker is 70m The Yellow top is 75m But Batcap doesnt list any sort of RC on the 800

Hello everyone, I am working on a design project for school and i need to know the size of the 1/0 gauge wire, the diameter with the insulation on the outside. or if someone knows where i can find this information that would be great. but the easiest way i thought of finding this info was to post it on here knowing that there are many people with 1/0 gauge wire in there car. so if a couple of you could get me the outside diameter of the wire and what brand the wire is that would be very helpfull. The only table i found on the diameter was from the wire itself, i want it with the outter insulation casing. Thank you all very much

I recently got a redtop from a friend. It had been sitting up for a good while and was reading 7 volts. So I put my charger on it @ 2amps for 3 days. Now the battery reads 14 volts when I take the charger off. All good right? But when I go to try it out and put it in my car, it wont crank it. So I let it charge some more, and same thing. Battery is fine until you put a load on it. Im assuming its bad, but I wanna make sure, so here this thread is. Hate to waste a battery like that.

Well on my way to class i smelt something odd... thought it was the dump i was driving past. i pull in to CSN and i see smoke go by my face... so i turn around and my whole trunk is in smoke.... now aparently my ground was bad (pops said too much current). ran 2 amps into 1 ground, just tapped into one amp ground to get them both going (Ground was VERY HOT when the smoke appeared). So i went to Lowes and picked up some 1 gauge and it dont fit in my amp terminal. so i grabed some 2 gauge... Okay this probably isn't the right place to ask this but please help out. I have a soundstream Rubicon 1600 amplifier. The protection light comes on for like five seconds and then the amp works ccompletely fine. Any suggestions why this is happening? Is this gonna be okay on the amp or will it eeventually die on me?

I am just curious I have been digging and come up with nothing. I know its not really good to underpower subs..... lets say on the highs and mids the amps tuned according to desired but the powers not there....... bad?

Hi guys, I have recently been saved by a cheap voltmeter plugged into the cig-lighter 12v input. It showed me I was loosing voltage badly. I found something was burning under the hood. The plastic on the wire coming from the positive post on the battery to the alt was bad, and the cooper was touching a metal part. I took it off, and now everything is ok. The alternator works as usual. But now I want a better voltmeter. This one is 8 years old ! I want something small enough to fit anywhere. I am looking to install a Sundown SAX1200D in my truck after I get the money up. My question is to run it at 1 ohm what all will I need to upgrade on my electrical besides the Big 3? If I need a larger or more batteries what size should I run and what should I run for the alternator?

I am doing the big 3 on my 2004 Rodeo and have ran into a slight snag. I am hoping somebody on here has some advice. I am using 1/0 AWG weling cable from Airgas (Radnor Flex-A-Prene) . I Grounded the negative battery terminal and the engine to the chassis without issue. Now I am trying to attach the cable to the charging post on the alternator. The problem is that the charging post is a tiny bolt, and the lug on the welding cable is huge (http://www.airgas.com/browse/productDetail.aspx?Category=14&product=RAD64002143). The lug is too thick to be able to re-attach the nut on the charging bolt, and it is coming in contact with the case of the alternator where …

hey all, im in the process of trying to possibly put a xcon 12"/sundown 1500 setup in my car. its a 95 camaro. well my charging system is shot i need a battery and alternator ANYWAY. can someone steer me in the right direction as to what battery and alternator i would need to power the stereo and car. ive heard a lot of bad things about the optima batteries so are there any other options?

I have a crunch powerzone 1500.1 and have a strange issues between it and my head unit. I raise the gain, and there is little to no difference throughout the range until it's about 3/4 up. However, if I raise the line level input (I play music from my phone) it increases dramatically, however my highs distort, no matter how I adjust their amp. I haven't even bothered with the bb because I've heard nothing good about it; but I don't feel right maxing my gain to get decent output. It's the same level of sound as my 150w amp without the line level adjustment and I figure 6-700w increase should sound a little louder? only asking this now, because I plan on getting a new amp …

I was hoping someone could help me out trying to figure out where to get this part other then woofersetc . (NAKAMICHI RCA 3PIN CONNECTOR) They charge $50 for a $2.00 plug in . Is this something that nakamichi head units use only? I have never seen the rca from the back of a car head unit like this . Is there really any advantage to running this amp on a sub. I know alot of sound quality guys love this amp to use on tweeters and mids. I was under the impression that once this amp pushes out a certain amount of watts it switches from class a mode to an a/b amp. The only advantage i see is that its stable down to .25 ohms. Anybody that knows about this amp please comment

I took my red top out an put in my yellow top( got it for 50 bucks). I thought maybe my red one was going bad. Buddy of mine put his meter on it. It showed 12.63v ( that was about 15 min after shut off). I took it out ( a day later) and measured again 12.63v. So, i wait one more day 12.63v . My buddy said that 12.63 was low for those ( should be around 13.3 according to him). what do you think? Is it going bad, should i wait a bit longer and see if it drops or just run it with the yellow top (parallel)? thanks

I have read a few things that say that a 2nd bat. is useless unless competing because in some comp. the motor is off.... as i do not compete i was wondering if a 2nd bat would be usefull to stabilize voltage or a HO alt. I have a 2002 grand prix gtp with the big 3 done in 4awg knu knocepts wire and some 4awg monster cable. I have a sae-1200d.v2 and i am going to be getting 2 sa-12s. I am hoping to have both loud and good sq system in my car? just wondering what others are thinking and comments... thanks

I have a 110amp alternator and I hope to get a sundown 2500d amp. If I were to get http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/XS-Power-D6500-Battery.html would I get by? Im willing to get two of them if necessary. I have a 2011 Chevy Cruze and idk if there is any alternators on the market for this car. So would simply upgrading battery's allow me to run this amp fine?
