Looking for a bit of advice on purchasing a new amp/amps. Ill be running a pair of D2 crossfire XSV2 15s tuned around 30hz. My dilemma is whether I would get more out of (ie more power, less rise): A pair of 2.5k amps (probably Skar 2500), bridged and wired to 1ohm each OR A single 5k amp run at .5ohm Electrical is: 2 runs 1/0 OFC (one is knu, other is memphis) and 1/0 Big 3 Kinetic HC2400 up front 3 deka group 34 AGMs in the back (55ah a piece, 750cca) 270a-320a altenator (will be added after amps) Thanks in advance for any help!

my friend keeps asking me questions about this and i dont really know the answer. he wants to hook 3 subs to one amp. the amplifier he wants to use: RMS Power @ 4 OHM 160W x 2 RMS Power @ 4 OHM 340W x 1 RMS Power @ 2 OHM 225W x 2 RMS Power @ 2 OHM 460W x 1 one of the subs is: 4 ohm - 200 watt RMS the other 2 are: 8 ohm - 250 RMS is there a way he could hook these up? thanks.

Hey guys ok my situation is this i have replace my stock battery with a kinetik 2400 and i also have a 800 my lights still dim badly i am running a hifoniks brutus bxi 2608 im running the full 2600 on 1 ohm on my cascade designs omega 15. Since i have a dodge charger my batterys are in the trunk only and the stock cable going to the battery form the alt is i believe 2 awg i forget. my alt is 140 amps. and the cable going batt to batt is 1/0 and the ground is 1/0. my idea is this i will mount another kinetik hc800 under my hood right by the alternator and run 1/0 to it from the alt +. then run 1/0 off the + of the battery to the 2 batteries in the trunk will this solve m…

ok, let's start with the stupid question, are 0 gauge & 1/0 gauge cable the same or are they diff & some people just don't realize it? I see people advertise 0 gauge power cable but the pic has 1/0 clearly stamped on cable. 2nd, I will be using 1/0 with an inline 300a fuse approx 4" from batt. It will go into a non fused dist block to 3 amps.(2g out, & 4g x 2 out) Do I need to to refuse between the block & the amps or does the inline protect all wiring past that point? duhhh, found answer to 3rd question! OK, we JUST got the car a few weeks ago and started installing the system. it's not done yet by a long shot. I do not have the big 3 done yet. I do not have a HO alt. however, I used to run 1 red top under the hood and 1 stinger spv70 in the back without big 3 or HO alt in an Olds Cutlass and Dodge Intrepid with ZERO problems. the systems in those were WAY louder and hit much much harder than this one, plus I had a kicker 350.4 and 200.2 in those as well. when I ran the lanzar in it, it was at 1 ohm , now only 2 ohm, and before that an inefficient Audiobahn A1500HCT that popped 100amp fuses left and right till I just ran the power wire strait to the battery no fuse. thi…

whats your take on the three amps ive been eyeing- AQ 3500, DC 3.5K and Crecendo 3500? im spinning a Singer 220A alternator and 2- kinetic HC1800. so what you think- there all the same. they are the same price new. thanks for any input

I've been searching around for some 3/0 lugs for my electrical upgrade. I really prefer using the split barrel over the solid like most of what you see. Like this: I found some on amazon for $2 each. I know I can use the solid barrel but they all seem so damn bulky. Well, not that 3/0 isn't bulky anyway but I'm not trying to have a huge stack of crap on all my connections either. Nor am I trying to spend $100 on some terminals. Anyone have any good reliable sources to look at? Any suggestions? I'm not totally against using the solid barrel lugs if they are fairly compact. Usually I use something like the Knu terminals and call it a day but they don't offe…

Do pretty much all head units send out a clipped signal at 3/4 volume? I remember reading something about 3/4 volume and never pushing the head unit to 100% volume... Also, if that's the case why don't manufacturers limit how much you can crank it (if possible?)

Just got a N1 for free.... Pulled it from a car being scrapped. The owner accidentally chopped the cable to the hidden unit when pulling it out. What size fuse should be between the battery and amp?

i just did the big 3 on my car and the question is the power coming from the alternator to the battery do i need to put a fuse there or not? i left the stock wire intact from the alt to the bat because if i cut it i wouldn't be able to see if my alt is failing or not since it wouldn't be going through the fuse box!! now if i put a big fuse between the wire and still have the other stock fuse in the fuse box there will it mess up anything? or should i just leave it like it is?

ive already got the big 3 all done in 1/0 with terminals soldered and all the goods, but im gonna install the alt soon and i was wondering if its necessary to double up on the 1/0 or no? and it says in the paperwork to add another ground from the closest ear on the alt to the frame..is that necessary too or just a good idea?

I am wondering if these amps will run on a 16 volt setup and what kind of power can be expected out of them at this voltage at .5ohm burps. I am wanting to run 4 duel 1ohm XS15's with 4 of the 3000.1's in my CRX.

I am thinking of using a Powermaster d3100 as an extra battery just for the 3k. i can't really change out the alternator as the truck is under warranty and I don't want to tamper with it and void the warranty. It's in an 05 F-150. All wiring is 0 guage. Here's what I need to know: I know that the amp-hour measurement is the most important, as anything above 120 or so is the bare minimum this amp needs. Also, how do I go about setting this up with the D3100 and the stock battery w/out cooking my alternator? I haven't done much with multi-battery setups so I want to make sure this is done right. im buying a fuse holder from knu and it takes 3 mini anl i ordered it with 300a's but i wanted to buy some for extra but i cant fine anywhere that carries them.? anyone got an idea?

I read some where that all alpine head units have crossovers that cut off bass at 30hz so they want allow you to hit the low lows. Is this true or just internet BS?

after buying these batteries i found out that they are 34M's and are "starting only". now does this matter? the MCA is 1000, CCA 800, AH 50, RC 100. Did i get ripped? (only paid 100 each) or are they good?

So in my next build I'm going to be running around 3500 watts probably a bc3500. For my current electrical setup i have a dc 270xp alt the big 3 and a d5100r in the front. Voltage @ idle is 15.2v. If i run 2 runs of ofc 0ga to a deka 9a31 in the back then one 2ft run of 0ga from the batt to amp is it going to be enough to to keep me above 13v for the most part or will i need a second 9a31 in the back. I plan on getting a second one later on anyway but would it be necessary? Thanks.

Ok Im going to have a 220A alternator, two D3100 powermasters batts for the amp, and Im getting 2 AA Mayhem 12s D2 voice coils. Would I be better with the 4500D or 3500D on a 12V system? And is there such thing as wire gauge overkill? Say I run a 3/0 run from my alt to my trunk and its about a 20' stretch. Would it be fine using the 3/0? And when I wire the subs I want to use 4ga wire because the amount of power and I want to be 100% sure the wire is letting as much current through as possible. So would using an excessive AWG of wire cause any 'damage' or reduction in power, or would it not matter?

Ok so i got a 3sixty.1 It was free and brandnew versus the cost of a 3sixty.2 I know theres a big difference but i figure free can negate those differences for you. Anyway. My radio has some alternator whine/engine noise. Its an AVIC-F90BT. I was wondering if the 3sixty would negate the engine noise because its grounded or would it just simply amplify it. Thanks guys.

I am never one to cut corners, on the flip side I am one to over build. I am ditching Iraggi alternators cuz their service SUCKS and I am going excessive amperage. I will be getting another HO alt and 2 more big AGM batteries and doing some more runs of ott. 1st off, do you guys recommend I get a missinglinkaudio voltage regulator? Anyway, should I get dual 4 ohm XXXs for the VAN and go 2 ohm, or should I run dual 2 at 1 ohm since I should have good electrical to back it up?
