If you have two 12in mtx subs at 600rms, and you have one 12in fi bl sub thats 1500rms. would the FI be louder? The fi sub is in a ported enclosure built to the specs and the two 12's is in a sealed prefab box???

Have you ever completed an enclosure that was a touch too small? Your low end sounds cramped but you don't want to or can't build a brand new enclosure. You throw in some polyfill and are blown away by the improvements. Then you go online to talk about it and everything gets confusing. You don't know why it works or what it really did, but you know that it sounds better. Maybe it's time you learned more about it! Firstly, there are a few primary types of fill that are used. This includes polyester fiberfill, fiberglass insulation, and long-fiber wool. Of these three, polyester fiberfill is perhaps the best option, and also the origination of the term "polyfill". T…

Pretty surprising results, I would have bet my money on the Gorilla Glue and it got its ass kicked. http://www.audiojunkies.com/blog/346 I'm going to have to try out the Titebond III on my next box and see if I like it. * Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I figured it would be the most relevant here.

I just ordered 3 knu fleks 4g power wires for the big 3 upgrade, one thing, it doesn't say how long the wire is which is kind of annoying but anyway: My battery is a superstart 550, don't know if that means 550 amps or not but i doubt it. Alt is just stock, i drive an 01 sonata gls, so im guessing its probably like 90 amp alt. Im running 1/0 knu klm for power and grounds to my fi bl 15 (09 version) off of 1 ohm, and i doubt im getting near even 1000w, and prolyl mad voltage drop too. My question is, about how many amps will my electrical be putting out after the big three upgrade? Will it be enough to get 1000w+ out of my shit? Thanks.

well after about a month or so of driving with no rear view mirror i decided to get a new one. this is the second one i've had to buy since i already broke two. both times the mirror's arm has snapped from window flex/vibration. i have a nissan and they use the same mirror components basically in all their vehicles. one being the arm which is that same on every one. i don't know how familiar anybody is with the material used on these arms but to me it looks like a metal of some kind and plastic. feels strong but obviously snaps easily from all of the vibration. my theory is that since the mirror moves to a certain point and can't move any longer. the arm is the focus of a…

I'm going to try to make this as simple as possible, there are only certain way woofers can be wired. You cannot wire them in anyway you choose to any ohm load you choose. There are rules to follow with Ohm's Law, which is why it's a Law and not a suggestion. I have seen it a few times in the last 2 days, where people say they will wire them in two different way with only one being possible, and it is very annoying, and no ones seems to want to point it out. So, I will try to make a simple list of basic woofer voice coil configurations and the only ohm loads you can wire them to. And for the noobs "Ω" is the symbol for Ohm Single Dual 4Ω woofer: Parallel 2Ω - Series 8Ω …

Im wanting to build a hybrid woofer but have never tried this before. i have two 3 bolt Memphis MOJO motors and i want to know if i can recone them with either some 15" SSA or Sundown recone parts and run on an SAZ-3500. What do i need to know about these motors before to know what parts i can use and what parts should i use? I know the motors have 2 magnet slugs that are iirc 1" x 8.5" and the oem voice coil is a 4 layer 3" coil. can or should i use an 8 layer coil and can i use the same basket as the soft parts im using use and redrill it to fit the three bolt style?

Subwoofer placement in a trunked vehicle Now, you have two good, and two "OK" options: Good 1. Install the subwoofer in the rear side panel (or in between the taillights and the strut tower). This is called corner loading. Since the subwoofer is as far back as possible in the vehicle, there will be no rear sound wave that can interfere. As well, you will have hard boundaries to the rear, and sides. 2. Install the subwoofer in an enclosure facing the very rear of the vehicle. Optimally, within a foot. This allows for the rear wave to exit through into the cabin of the vehicle, as well as the front wave to reflect off of the rear of the vehicle, and be reinforced by the r…

So i was trying to find some good information about how to properly install components. I was reading through build logs (including Shizzzon's 25 page one) and every time it came to their set-ups, it seemed as if they gave only 1/2 the information. I have a Boston Acoustic Pro 60se set i would like to use as my front stage. I also have damplifier pro from Second Skin. My question is rather elementary and i apologize for that... but what's the best way to put them in? I would like to avoid the speaker pod approach. I've heard so many different things. Should i make a 3/4" MDF ring and mount the speakers to those? I just honestly have no clue here. And tweeters should be mo…

I have two 100watt rms Floor house speakers, they are 3-way and are 12" in size with a 4 inch midrange and a 2 inch tweeter. they are sanyo AVS 500 series, there is no info anywhere for these speakers. They sound great except at high volumes they do not have a crossover in them at all, which I think is kind of dumb on the company's part, these are good sounding ported house speakers that bump pretty good, they can get the walls rattling and there from the 90's. I would like it if anyone had any ideas to what frequency crossover I should get, as in what frequency's should i aim for, for these speakers? they can hit down to 30hz very nicely, and you can even slightly hear …

I've had a buch of bass installs , never payed much attention EQíng the front stage because the bass was simply to loud to notice the flaws the frontstage had Now I want to attempt to get a frontstage that is more than decent , no SQ comps , just for my enjoyment I want have it really good . A good part of a system is EQing the system to get the staging tonal balance just right , but with what music or reference tracks best to do that with ? reason I'm asking is because I keep turning on knobs cause I can't find "it" what I'm looking for with the music I'm familiar with .. there must be some stuff that can get you close in "steps" followed in a logical order

Well guys maybe one of you can help me out. I have/had in my SUV a Tc sound axis 12 and was playing it on my orion 275rhcca amp at 1ohm and it was slammin UNTIL it started to rattle So after i removed it from the box i noticed that the whole spider assembly came unglued from the basket/spider landing . Now this is my question I'm sure that its covered under warranty but what are my chances of reglueing it my self? It's not about if i can do it but rather will it be worth it in the long run so to speak. I don't think it will be a problem aligning the coil as it seems to rest snugly in one spot where the LITTLE bit of glue originally was. I have a pair of them and I'm …
