Today I wrapped up our testing on the final prototype Icon. We are going to production very shortly now. The long story short, the Icon is ready. It was really tested in depth today, ALL kinds of music, from passive listening to full clip for a long time. Not once was there any sign of thermal limits. This new version keeps that same full, warm and surrounding bass the original Icon was known for, bringing a little more punch and attack with an upgrade of added power handling and thermal limits and a little more abuse tolerance. By the way, the Icon bulked up 4 lbs. REALLY happy with this new version, we have something special in this power segment. More pix and v…

I'm looking at purchasing either an Xcon or a Zcon. The Xcon is listed as having an aluminum shorting ring in the motor. My question is whether the Zcon does or not? I am assuming that it does not have an inductance demodulation circuit in the motor since it is not listed under the features. Can anyone confirm this please? Thanks.

I am slowly getting our product photos done for the website. We have a great photographer who took all these, I'm now doing the photoshop work on them. So far we have the XCON 10 and XCON 12. Stay tuned for more. (I'll update thread when complete)

I know the "is X better than Y" questions are annoying, but I'm looking to upgrade from my current set up and the DCONs seem to fit the bill. They fit the budget of $300 and the RMS ratings line up. Everything else I've looked at has much higher RMS ratings and would be better suited to running one sub off of the amp. For substage, I'm currently running four RE Audio REX 8" subs sealed in .42 cu ft each. They are being driven by an Alpine PDX-1.600 with 600w RMS (birth sheet says 666w, it's the Amp of the Beast). Overall, I have been satisfied with them - if do upgrade, they will go into my Silverado. That being said, I'm looking for more output and an upgrade in o…

Not sure if this is the right sub forum for this or not. Let me know if I need to move it. I'm in the South Jersey area, I've got a 08 Passat. I wanted to add maybe a 1 12" or 2 10" to the factory sound system to fill out the bottom end. I had a single 10 DCON in my previous car and loved it. I did all my other installs myself, but this time I'd like to have a more professional finish. I saw the SSA HQ is not far from me (about an hour and a half). Does the SSA HQ do installs / have a showroom that I could listen to the other subs they sell (sundown, IA, etc) to see how they all compare? If not, does SSA have any installers in this area they'd recommend?

I have a DCON 10 currently in a ported enclosure, but just don't really care much for the sound. My car seems to have a nasty 40-45hz boost and almost no bass around 60hz with the sub rear facing in the trunk. I've tried moving the box around and have been able to get better sound with it corner loaded firing basically across the trunk. However, the box I have is really too big to fit like that, so I am wanting to construct a new one. The question that I have is how much space do I need behind the woofer for the vented pole? I'm trying to make the box as shallow as possible. The sub has 6" mounting depth and I'm assuming I would need another 2 inches or so to be saf…

There will be a short bit of having the ICON out of stock as we prepare for the release of the new ICON. Totally rebuilt and re-engineered from the ground up! Complete with custom cooling, new coils, better power handling. That's all we are saying at this point about it, but this will be one hell of a driver when it's complete. Thanks for your understanding.
