I have a 350z and I was looking for a good sub to have ported....i know dustin from dc creations and okc and he said i should check out the gcon. Reason for the gcon is that I wanna use my old amp i still have which is ED nine.1 monoblock. The problem I was having was the space issue and and the weird shape of my trunk with the strut bar in the back. I was hoping this would be a good combo for my car cause im tired of not having any lows. I was originally gonna get a SA8 or a 10 but Dustin said these subs are pretty bad-A. Any help from ppl that have messed with a Z or know if i should take a different route or any help would be great.

UPS dropped off a little somethin' somethin': First impressions. I didn't have much time to play around with it (gotta go to work soon), so I was pretty careful with the settings. Still, this thing is amazing. Gets loud and LOW. Hopefully I'll get some more work done this weekend (moving bass knob and replacing the crappy cable) and get it tuned a little better, but so far I'm extremely happy with my purchase. SSA's got a customer for life.

Well, currently, I have two 10'' TC-7s. I'm looking to upgrade next summer, and I wanted to do four 8's, but I really wanted to try icon, which would force me to a 10''. Just curious is if there is anything floating around for an 8'' to be made.

I'm doing a temporary half-wall so I can still see out of the back window. How many dbs could be gained by sealing it all up? Does the magnet have a hole in the bottom? Is 6.5" mounting depth not including the depth of the mounting ring? What's the depth of the mounting ring? Would there be a problem inverting the dcon? Would I have to phase it? The box will be pretty close to but not touching the rear windows, would that be a problem?

a dcon or gcon for a small sealed enclosure? I was extremely happy wit my dcon10 and want to go small again. Since I dotn have a sub amp yet Im also flexible on how much power I need to run although I have liek a 300 watts amp that might be a nice fit for a dcon.

My Xcon 15 came in today and its probably an understatement to say I'm excited. Just a little under a month now, and I get to throw this thing in and start jamming. And to think, before I started doing research and then found SSA, I was gonna get an Alpine Type-X 12 as the anchor of my "all Alpine system" . Everything was gonna match and to me, thats where it was at. Hell, if someone had asked me about 4 or 5 months ago about Sundown or SSA, I might have said "Aww hell naw don't get that no-name BS, get Alpine and JL". Lets just say I've evolved past that way of thinking and we'll leave it at that. Anyway, here are some pics: Now thats what I call one …

I'm buying either 2 12" xcons or 2 15" xcons depends on what thumper comes up with and recommends for my truck x-cab s-10. I see in the ssa store that I can buy a combo of each sub with a sun down 1500 but I would like to only run one amp for the subs. Would the 3500 be ok or should I go bigger or should I go ahead and buy 2 1500. P.S. I'm comming to the dark side from running 2 JL 12W6 and 2 Phoenix Gold Ti 600.2 amps. IT'S LOUD BUT I WANT MORE

Hello. I know this probably an annoying question, but if some one could give me an honest opinion I would really appreciate it. I have a 2007 Tahoe with 2 12w6v2's. They are in a ported box at the manufactures specs of 1.5 cubic ft per driver. It definitely sounds good. I am real happy with the box design and how the whole system intergrates into my vehicle. I have a Sundown 2000d on the way. I realize this is too much power but I wanted to have room for upgrades. I was looking at the specs on the 10 Icon and it looks like it would be a good match for this setup. I believe I could modify my box to hold the tens without too much trouble and at the same time keep m…

So I don't have the programs required to design a superb box, so I was hoping for some help, even if it requires some sort of payment, because it seems like an intense build to me. I am going with 2 18 inch XCONs and will use a SAZ-3500d. It will be the toughest build I have done due to the size and I want it to turn out great because I have decided to use a theme. I have been deciding on subs and amps forever it seems, so I said why not just represent the forum that has helped me through all of my indecisiveness and taught me so much (tears lol). I want to paint it in a color scheme to match my school colors, so red and white, probably with the emblem on one side, an…

Asked Sundown this and will all you too, what you would consider your SQ sub? Again they all look to have a consideration for SQ and not be pure SPL or one note wonders, but again maybe 60-40 street beater vs. SQ. Do you have any plans for an SQ reference sub as well?

this guy wants to build a box for my two ICON 15" subs here are the 3 options he gave me 17"H x 42"W x 24"D, 8.174^3ft gross vol. Slot port, 15.5" x 5" x 15.92"Long. After all displacement, 7.048^3ft net box vol. Built from 3/4"UL-MDF 20"H x 40"W x 21"D, this will save you some room, it will put the enclosure at 8.244^3ft gross vol, 7.171^3ft net. Perfect! The port will be 18.5" x 4" x 16.1"Long 22"H x 42"W x 20"D, 8.889^3ft gross, 7.837^3ft net, with a 20.5" x 4" x 15.4"long port. i drive a 04 ford explorer also and dont want to lose to much space in the trunk

Icon 12" sealed or a Icon 10" ported? Should have added, I meant in ideal boxes. Also, I would like to tune the box to 15-20hz since my amp does not have an SSF. I've got a blown 12" icon that i'll either fix or swap for a 10" and port. The 12" port box is just to big.

I just picked up a single DCON 10" S4 and can't wait to get it installed. It will be going into a custom made sealed fiberglass box that is built into the side of my Cayenne. The box, after displacement, is .93 cu ft. The box used to house a single L7 and did fairly well. I am not opposed to running the DCON sealed but I am thinking of possibly porting the box for a bit different sound. I have already re-faced the box for the DCON. My question to the experts is, would it be worth it to port the box even though it would be smaller than recommended? A couple of additional things... I can increase the box by adding a 1-ended sealed piece of 4" PVC pipe that would effectively…

Hi everyone. I need to build a new enclosure for my pair of 15" XCONS. My ported box is coming apart and replacement is unavoidable. I want to build a sealed box and try them out that way for a little while to see if I like it better. If not, I will build a larger ported box later. The recommended optimal volume as listed on the SSA storefront is 2.75 - 3.0. I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, the smaller box will yield a tighter bass, but I am open to all suggestions and opinions. Space is not an issue. Box is going in a Yukon XL and the subs will be powered by a GP3000D, so 1500w to each. My listening preference is rock/metal , but I do listen to R&B/Hip Hop a…

All, I'm looking to run a pair of 12's in a sealed enclosure (1.00-1.25 ft^3 per) @ 600W RMS to each sub. Would I be losing any significant performance by under powering these subwoofers? I understand that they are rated for 750W RMS but I am limited to a total of 1200W RMS and would like to run 2-12s in a sealed enclosure due to my trunk-space limitations. Also, should these perform well in a relatively small sealed enclosure or is 1.0-1.25 FT^3 too little? What is the current lead time on the GCONS? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, SnapperKing
