So brown santa (UPS guy) dropped off a fairly heavy package today. I just want to say this thing is AMAZING. Bye bye RD Audio, HELLO SSA! Oh, and to Mark, if you're reading this sorry about getting so impatient about the build time, the wait was more than worth it! I got it installed in my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab in a ~4 cube box tuned to 30hz. This driver is godlike compared to my two 12" RD Sonances. I couldn't be happier.

this guy wants to build a box for my two ICON 15" subs here are the 3 options he gave me 17"H x 42"W x 24"D, 8.174^3ft gross vol. Slot port, 15.5" x 5" x 15.92"Long. After all displacement, 7.048^3ft net box vol. Built from 3/4"UL-MDF 20"H x 40"W x 21"D, this will save you some room, it will put the enclosure at 8.244^3ft gross vol, 7.171^3ft net. Perfect! The port will be 18.5" x 4" x 16.1"Long 22"H x 42"W x 20"D, 8.889^3ft gross, 7.837^3ft net, with a 20.5" x 4" x 15.4"long port. i drive a 04 ford explorer also and dont want to lose to much space in the trunk

ok heres the deal, i have a friend that competes in streetspl,. he started the season off with 4 SA 12s on 2 M3as and was doing great, then he stepped up to 4 soundlab 18's on 4 M3as and was whopping ass. the new season starts in january and hes looking to rebuild, he asked me to find him 9 SA 12s but im thinking to suade him into 9 Gcons, the thing is, he knows the SA12's he ran them before, and i have too, great subs, but the Gcon is new, but it priced around the same, and its a comparable woofer on paper, im looking for someone that has used both woofers, i dont want to talk this guy into getting something he may not be happy with then look at me like im an as…

We have an update. The news is that the Carbon Fiber dust caps that were originally planned for the Xcon have been delayed. But we are going to offer dust cap options. The logo will be the same regardless of option choice. By doing this we are able to keep the standard cost of the Xcon down just under the $400 mark. The XCON will have option of three dust caps: 1.) Inverted Cap (concave mica reinforced polypropylene) 2.) SSA Convex Cap (Same as Dcon and Icon) 3.) Carbon Fiber Cap (Offered at a later date) + $17 The standard Xcon dust cap offered is the inverted option which we feel with give a very clean look.

Because we did a running change again to the dust caps which i'm sure everyone will be very pleased with i'm not going to show the front of this woofer. But this is the production 18" that just arrived. I'll get full product photos next week of the rest for all to gaze apon

What does " Awaiting Fulfillment" mean in the order status page? and what other status's are there and what do they mean?

i will be ordering a 12" ICON soon. what is a good amp to push it? i want to go one channel because i will have another amp pushing everything else. what is a good choice w/ a good price? im not trying to break the bank.

Recently I've been thinking about trying to fit a 15" Icon in the trunk of my Sunfire as opposed to the 12" I've planned. I typically would just use a slotted port, but the amount of displacement taken up by the port would bring the box pretty much all the way down to 3cft as opposed to the 4 that's supposed to be optimal. So I've been reading a bit and the idea of using Aero ports kind of interested me. However, does the recommendation for port area remain the same (12-16 square inches per cubic foot)? If so, I would need 2 6" ports or 4 4" ports, and in both configurations the port length would have to be too long. Is my only bet for fitting a 15" is to settle with some…

I started some spring cleaning today and noticed the mids on my old Baby Advent IIs had blown out the surrounds, so I figured I'd throw the Evil 6.5s in their place and have some fun. Now, these are in a simple bass reflex at 9.1L. There's a simple 1st order crossover running up to 6K, so the woofer is wide open down low and starts rolling 6dB at 6K. It's a really simple design. These are being powered by an old Pioneer Elite receiver rated at 40WPC at 6 ohms. Standing DCR on them was 7.12, so we're in business. Now, I didn't expect much as this was just a WTF experiment. So I have been thinking, If I wall off behind the second row I should be able to get about 14 and a half cubes. Subs on the outer sides and 200sqin of port in the middle. I would be uprading the electrical, with h/o alt, big 3, and atleast 5 batts(1 up front 4 in the back). Another saz 1500, and a shit ton of deadner. I will be upgrading my fronstage as well. I am hoping to do atleast around 146 or so. That would be double the cone area and double the power, aswell as aupgraded electrical. What do you guys think????

first off, hey everyone, new to this forum. im usually on other forums but figured my question would be best answered here well im really interested in the Icon and a few other subs. but i got a couple questions: 1) I wanna do 2 15" Icons sealed in my car. i can only fit about 5 cuft tops. I have a couple amps in mind and all of them do about 2500rms. Would that be too much for the Icon? Should i only put 2k on them? Also, should I make the box towards the smaller side around 4-4.5 cuft or towards the bigger end 4.5-5cuft? I have an Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz. It is being powered by a JBL GTO 1201.II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2ohms. When I turn it up I get a smell that almost smells like paint. The gain is set a lil past half way. I notice some people on the forum are powering pairs of the 15s with like 1500 watts from a Kicker amp. Am I setting the gain too high? What could that smell be? Should I turn down the gain on my amp and turn up the sub setting on my deck? The deck I have is the Alpine CDA-9886.

i want to make a ported box for my xcon 10 and i was thinking about modifying the predesigned enclosure to make it fit for my car. I'm just curious why the boxes are the same for the xcon and icon 10's. the recommended specs are different for the 2 woofers but i can't find a difference between the pre designed enclosures. should i be using the recommended specs as a guide or the predesigned enclosures as a guide. just a bit confusing.

I am waiting on my sundown saz-2000d and i want new subs, i currently have 3 kicker cvx 12"s in a 6.4ft^3 @ 30 Hz. I wanted to keep my box cause its perfect and the best i built and thought about getting 3 12" Icons but dont want to underpower them. So lately i been wanting one 18" xcon or two 15" icon in a 6.15ft^3 @ 30Hz, 31Hz or 32Hz(havent made my mind up). what would be the best route, appreciate all the info.

the new box comes out to 4.09 cu ft after port and sub displacement, tuned to 40.94 hz. This is going to be my SPL box for my comp on Sunday July 8th. I have to mount the amps on the rear of box and cut the whole for sub so the box is not totally completed in the car yet. Heres some pics but the rest will come tomorrow. I will also post pics from the show and the numbers I did with the Icon 15 at the show sunday. But remember, im still not sure if its the perfect SPL box for the sub, so more testing is required, this isnt a sub everyone knows the best box to make for it like RE subs or SI subs.
