I've been trying to decide what enclosure to build for my 1 12" D2 Icon. Like most members here I listen to all types of music, but personally lean heavily toward rock/metal. As a musician, I am plagued with a trained ear (good for recording, bad when analyzing car audio) so SQ is top priority. I had the Icon in a stuffed 1.15 sealed box powered by a Crossfire vr600 in the past. I loved everything about it (clean, accurate and smooth with tons of depth). Very toneful. I took the system out of the car last year and ended up giving the box away to a friend. I recently got the itch back and getting ready for the re-install. Seems like 99% of members here prefer ported which …

Would a pair tuned to 30hz give me a good amount of low end? Should I tune lower? Subs are going in the trunk of a 04 Ford Crown Victoria, port and subs rear firing. Would a 1500d running at .5 ohm be too much power for them or just right? Already have the amp, just took a notice to these subs recently and all the positive feedback on them. Any help or nudge in the right direction is greatly apperciated, thanks.

Hey fellas... I recently, I believe 2 days ago, wrote a review for the 12" Icon in the SSA store. I haven't seen it up on the site yet. It's just kind of embarrassing man.. Did my review get rejected or do you have like a week before processing/posting??? Just wondering since I have yet to see any owners review this woofer... Thanks -Danny

Is there a big difference in output of these in a sealed box (2.5-2.75cu) on about 750 watts?

Will be running it off a DLS A7 Sub channel at 2 ohm getting 440-500 watts. Can the 10 handle this in a 1.2cube ported box?

I am looking for info about the Xcon subs. Can somebody give me some specs about the Xcon line? I need the weight of the 12 and 15" sub, and I can't find it. I want to compare it to the Icon line. Can we have a comparative description of the 2 12" and of the 2 15"? I have an Icon 15", and I love it! I loved its "light" weight too. But I can't tell for the Xcon, there are not a lot info on the SSA site. Thanks

Getting my new ICON here soon and was just wondering which route I should go for hooking it up. I have an Audioque 1200d amp, so its 1200w @ 1ohm and 870w @ 2ohm. I was planning on giving the sub the 1200w, but I'm wondering if I should go the 870w route. More or less, I'll be unpacking the sub, installing it, and then hitting the road for a long road trip... so its going to see a lot of use right out of the box. Would it still be ok to go with the 1200w, or is the 870w a safer route? Thanks!

i have pair of dcon 10's. I want to make an enclosure for them and its recommended 1-1.25 cubes 28-33 hurts. what does the smaller size do? Would that mean more power handling? More punchyness? I have a us amps merlin md1 for power and plenty of juice for supply. also what does the tuning frequency effect. i listen to a broad array of music slipknot and mudvayne lamb of god to eletronic and rap. i know there is no perfict setup for all but what would you recommend? I have a 2005 civic sedan if that helps. thanks

So yesterday i installed my new 10" Icon with a 125.2 Sundown. And install went fine, little trouble with the Line Out Convertor, but we worked through it. After it was all installed and setup good we started messing with tuning, and man this setup was POUNDING away on my BMW!! I mean for a 10 and the 125 to be hitting this hard was amazing. Cutting the story short i was driving home and had the music going nothing outrageous just listing to the radio. I get up this morning to do some final touches and noticed that my license plate had rattled off on my way home!!! I thought it was hilarious!!! Well that is my little plug/review of my new SSA/Sundown system!! Thanks.

I have a 350z and I was looking for a good sub to have ported....i know dustin from dc creations and okc and he said i should check out the gcon. Reason for the gcon is that I wanna use my old amp i still have which is ED nine.1 monoblock. The problem I was having was the space issue and and the weird shape of my trunk with the strut bar in the back. I was hoping this would be a good combo for my car cause im tired of not having any lows. I was originally gonna get a SA8 or a 10 but Dustin said these subs are pretty bad-A. Any help from ppl that have messed with a Z or know if i should take a different route or any help would be great.

I am thinking about buying a 12'' icon and was wondering about how much power they can handle daily? I currently have a sundown saz1500.1 and don't really want to change that. I no this is a sq oriented sub but i would be running it for spl, i no this sounds kinda dumb but i currently run a fi q. Does anyone have any numbers on a 12 or any icon?

I sold my 18's to my friend to Don... and this is what he did with them.... It did a 47.7 in KAOS which is a 3 min run in the center of the dash. The enclosure is some thick ass PVC with MDF plugs and aeroports. Sadly besides myself and him we were the only ones to run SSA.

All, I'm looking to run a pair of 12's in a sealed enclosure (1.00-1.25 ft^3 per) @ 600W RMS to each sub. Would I be losing any significant performance by under powering these subwoofers? I understand that they are rated for 750W RMS but I am limited to a total of 1200W RMS and would like to run 2-12s in a sealed enclosure due to my trunk-space limitations. Also, should these perform well in a relatively small sealed enclosure or is 1.0-1.25 FT^3 too little? What is the current lead time on the GCONS? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, SnapperKing

Hi everyone, I have a 15" Zcon in a CX-5 Mazda. The box is huge in the cargo area : no more room left for groceries ! 4 cu ft @ 33 Hz. I would like to try a new box with sub up AND port up. I feel like the port is too close to the tailgate, and it flex too much. How do you think a new box with port up will play ? Will I loose anything from that change ? Is it absolutely necessary to have a double baffle ? I like to flush mount the sub, and I don't want to use 3 baffles for the new box? Can it be good with good bracing only ? I will try 3.5 cu ft to have asmaller box. I need to take out the false stock floor to put a higher box an…

My son and I just got done swapping out amps to power my original Blue dust cap Icon 10. It was being powered by a Zed built Usacoustics USA2150 bridged and rated at 500 watts. I acquired an ESX 275.2 and honestly...I wasn't expecting a huge difference. We have the d2 Icon running bridged mode on the ESX. The rating for bridged mode is 825 watts. Quick rundown of the system..... HU- Eclipse CD8454 running 2 way active. Tweet amp- Usacoustics USA 2100 powering a set of Vifa XT25 ring radiators Mid amp- Usacoustics USA2150 powering a set of ID OEM's in a heavily dampened set of doors Sub amp as mentioned is an ESX 275.2 powering the Original blue cap Icon 10. The sub…
