Does anyone know the exact mounting hole diameter for the XCON 12? Not the individual hole size. But the entire mounting circle.

I'm looking for the most output in the trunk of a Nissan Maxima. On a SAZ-1500D the options are a pair of 12" icons (4 cubes @ 30hz) or a single 15" xcon (4 cubes @30hz). SQ is not a factor because it is not relavant to my goals. I only listen to rap and R&B, so "lows" are not an issue. Just looking for a daily ground pounding system. I hope I've provided enough info. Thx

Just a couple snaps of the Lancer from the Herr Foods Inc. Cruise night held in Nottingham PA. I didn't bother with pictures of all the glam rods or anything like that, just a couple of the car and the unfinished install.

My 15" xcon died yesterday, i was playing some music and then it died for a second came back then died again and was gone. I checked it out today the amp works fine, and the sub will hit bass when pushed and held in. I took it out of the box and when i moved it up and down there was a crunching sound along where the wires go through the spider, plus when i moved the spider the sound came for a second back. So I'm sure the wires burnt. So what do I need to do to fix this??? is there a way when I fix this to make the part more heavy duty. My last subwoofer could take twice the beating of this xcon and it never cared for the 4 years I owned it and it was powered with this sa…

Hi All, I purchased a 1.48 cubic foot box for a 12 inch Icon that I was purchasing, since it was the optimal size box after the sub displacement. However, through some serious luck and acts of nature, I was sent a 12 inch Xcon instead of the Icon. The sub is being powered by a SAE-1200D at 1 ohm in the back of my 2004 Impala. While the Xcon sounds great and is finally breaking in, it seems to want a bigger box. The sub is crossed at 80hz, and hits really hard in the 40 to 50 hz range, but below that it seems to run out of steam fast. I am guessing that this is due to the small box. I don't have the funds to have a new box built right at the moment, so I was wondering…

While i'm waiting on my triple XCON box from trevor for the Santa Fe, decided to kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Having a box built by Argent for these ICON's and going to be doing some abusing in the absence of the XCONs. Here's what we have so far.... 2 of these are mine, 2 are for Ernie's Civic.

Is there a specific length or width of the port inside the box for the max quality of the speaker paired with with Sundown 1500D. Any advice would be great, building it for a 2010 Camaro. Cant wait to post pics.

I was playing with winisd, and I have heard the xcon's are great in a sealed box, but when i typed in all the correct figures for a sealed box the freq response wasn't flat at all it started to drop at around 80hz and kept going down, but the ported box was flat down to the tuning freq????

So brown santa (UPS guy) dropped off a fairly heavy package today. I just want to say this thing is AMAZING. Bye bye RD Audio, HELLO SSA! Oh, and to Mark, if you're reading this sorry about getting so impatient about the build time, the wait was more than worth it! I got it installed in my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab in a ~4 cube box tuned to 30hz. This driver is godlike compared to my two 12" RD Sonances. I couldn't be happier.

Well guys and gals, I got the box carpeted ( not finished with looks ) and installed the amp temporary mounted to a spot in the trunk. My box worked out to be 3.6 after all bracing, double baffle, port and sub displacement, tuned at 33.9HZ. My amp is a MTX Thunder Elite 1501D , 1663 watts 1ohm at 14.4 volts. My first inital response was wow this thing sucks! Then I quickly realized that I forgot to turn the subwoofer control on the head unit up. DUH! This thing puts my two alpine type x 12's to bed. I haven't even broke her in yet and she is impressive already. Superb sounding, very clear all thru the frequency range. A little lit on the upper ranges but that c…

So I am going to a sound competition on sunday/may 2nd, and I am planning on entering into the street beat sb4 category, I know its just for consumers, but everyones gotta start somewhere, plus my car needs better electrical and a better amp to do anything more challenging. So does anyone have any tips for me. I have read the USACi rules already, but i'd like some tips from the more experienced. I have a ssa 15" xcon hooked up to a hifonics 1610d amp. let me know

I'm doing a temporary half-wall so I can still see out of the back window. How many dbs could be gained by sealing it all up? Does the magnet have a hole in the bottom? Is 6.5" mounting depth not including the depth of the mounting ring? What's the depth of the mounting ring? Would there be a problem inverting the dcon? Would I have to phase it? The box will be pretty close to but not touching the rear windows, would that be a problem?

I have wondered. Is it absolutely neccessary to run 2 pieces of mdf on the part of the enclousure where the subs mount? if you have bracing on the inside of the box wouldn't it be enough to keep the front "plate" from flexing from the subs? Besides being able to recess them whats the advantages of the second piece.

One thing I have noticed about my xcon is that it hits a certain frequency range with a much greater intensity than the rest. It lacks any kind of upper bass. but the lows rock with it. So I want to know from all the people who own a xcon what songs hit the best on your xcon. I'm not asking for a general bass tester for any sub. I want to know what songs are great with a 15" xcon. What songs hit so hard that they make your doors push outward and your windshield flex. So far I have found that 1:12 into tick tock by banana inc is really loud, and bass i love you isn't half bad. But I wan't more ideas

So I don't have the programs required to design a superb box, so I was hoping for some help, even if it requires some sort of payment, because it seems like an intense build to me. I am going with 2 18 inch XCONs and will use a SAZ-3500d. It will be the toughest build I have done due to the size and I want it to turn out great because I have decided to use a theme. I have been deciding on subs and amps forever it seems, so I said why not just represent the forum that has helped me through all of my indecisiveness and taught me so much (tears lol). I want to paint it in a color scheme to match my school colors, so red and white, probably with the emblem on one side, an…

Hey people I am going to be getting 2 DCON 10's for under the back seat of my pickup, and I know that the optimum recommended ported box is 1.25 @ 33hz after displacement, so my question is, since this will be in a pick up under the back seat, with the subs forward firing and the ports are going to be on the sides of the box firing into the doors, what type of port should I use, aero ports or slot ports. Also if I should go with aeros, what size and what length, and if I should go with slot ports, what dimensions, also I say a guy on here that put his DCON 10 in a 1.3 cu. ft. box @ 33 hz, what advantages and disadvantages will I see by going with this size over the 1.25 r…

Just throwing this out there, Bromo and myself have been working on this. He says go bigger and I agree but can't do to space constraints. The box for this XCON 15 will have a volume of 3.6 after sub and bracing displacemnt tuned to 33 hz. I listen to hip hop, bass music and just about everything else. Is this box going to hurt the potential of the XCON? Is it to small. Is the tune going to seriously affect the type of music I listen to? Bromo has been a huge help as well as Alton, but I am wanting some other opinions now. Thanks

hi there, i'm getting a pair of 15inch xcon pretty soon and i'm working on my box design. They'll go in an 2004 elantra gt, so hatchback. subs up, port on one side (a 10inch sonotube) with enough clearance to breath. amp is an mtx te4001d, so around 4k watt to the pair. -what's the subs displacement? -cutout -is one 10inch sono enough (box is 7.2 before all displacement, so pretty on the small size) gives around 12f -how do you think they'll react in like like 3.2-3.5 feet each? (3.5 if single baffle, otherwise 3.2) -i had tc sound's tc-9 prior, anyone know how does compare? -anything i should know about these beside that? thanks for the help in advance

Been working with Thumper on building a box for my 2001 s-10 xcab. After many measurements and alot of emails, it looks like I'm going with 3 12" xcons in my truck. My questions are on the xcons should I get the 1ohm or 2ohm subs. And my plan is to use Sundown amps so which would be better the saz3500d or the saz4500d. I work in law enforcement and do alot of police /saftey fair shows plus other shows and comps. This will be a daily driver but I will compete with it so thats why I ask the question about what ohm I should buy.
