After all of the readings i've done, it seems like these are the popular choices for subs. Which would you rate for being the best all around LOUD SOUND QUALITY sub. It seems like the ia and xcon have the flattest bl curve, the xxx may be the winner in the lows department and the w7 is what everything is measured against. B4 I only had highs with no mid bass, so I loved my 10w7's over my 06xxx. Now I have the focal krx2 for the highs and mids, so what would be a good sub to blend with them? They are able to play down the the 70hz range i believe. Looking for the best sound quality in 6cubes maxx! Also looking for it to be loud(outside of the truck for showing off purpose…

I was just wondering if there are recone kits available for a 10" SSA Icon. (Just wondering in case I would like to get one for the future)

I got my xcon in the Wed. I am kinda late on posting anything about for i have been building boxes for the last week. I heard it for the first time yesterday in the new box.(7.3cuft@30hz 107.6sqin of port) I like the way it sounds. :bigclap: Different than any other sub i have heard. I must say that i love it. It SLAMS the lows. I listened to some heavy metal to see how well it picked up the double bass, I must say i am very impressed. The $426.54 i paid for it was well worth it. I would recommend this sub as well as ssa to anyone that I talked to . Very great company with outstanding quality speakers.

Finally arrived today! Testing will begin shortly. And before anyone asks, no pricing is not set, we do not have a release date and the T/S parameters are not finalized. We are considering doing a "trade up" program for SSA products. Loose details would include. Trade in your SSA product (SSA SUBS ONLY!) for a pre-derterminded value to be discounted off your new SSA product. Example: DCON trade (x-amount) - ICON MAP PRICE (y-amount) = total (y-x) This is just an idea at this point and we feel would help circulate our subs a bit better. We would also be selling the trade in's in our "Certified Used" Section on the shop after they have been tested. So seems to be a win win, you could get a great used product at a discount, or a brand new product at a discount. Let us know your thoughts!

Alright, with all the outstanding reviews, and everything I've heard about quality and customer service, I'm getting a ssa sub. But, which? I've thought about going with the xcon, but I just think that will be too much for me. (Possible?) My last sub was a 15" spl sub, but was ridiculously underpowered. The last correctly powered sub I was running was a 12" kicker l7. I want something louder, and cleaner. Would an icon be enough? Take note, the l7 was in an nasty prefab box, and was in the trunk of a 1991 Chevy Lumina. The ssa will be in the back of a 2000 celica, with the right box. So, icon or xcon? As you can see in my sig, I am a pround owner of a 15" Icon sub!!! I am really happy with it, but I would like to play with the tuning frequencies of my box! I want to lower the tuning frequency of my enclosure. What should I do ? The box is about 4ft3 and the port is 14.10" (35cm) long and about 5.5" (14cm) of diameter. The actual port is just a PVC pipe. Should I replace it with a longer port(1" more), or is it better to have one port with a larger diameter to have more port area ? It is easier to have a longer port, but is it better for the sound, output, quality,... ??? Thanks you all

got my icon 15" today , looks pretty good and solid. after doing some reading i wish i would have spent the extra money and got a xcon and sold my jl 1000 n got a sundown amp but i think the icon will be pleasing to my ears :bigclap: ill know next week when my box arrives maybe ill try a xcon 12" and sundown amp in my camaro or mustang if i can get enough airspace nice work ssa keep it up

I have just received my 15" Icon sub, and I can have a sealed free enclosure (about 4 cu ft). I listen mostly to reggae and rap, What should I do? Keep it sealed, or add a round port to it ? My amplifier is a JL Audio A1800 and will give the sub 650w rms @ 4 ohms. I have Focal 165KP for front speakers on a big Boston GT42 amp. 0 Ga power wiring... Still to come:big 3 And.......my car is a Toyota Auris(new Corolla hatchback). That's'it ! Thank you for your advices!

Just a quicky video I made. I just noticed that when it shows me turning up the bass knob it appears to be at full, when in fact it's only half, the knob spun out one day becuase of the heat down here so the dot doesn't line up to where it's actually at lols. Anyways, here's the video...

We slapped my old crx/suv (shop box) style box in Sound=Vibrations car to see what it would meter. With under powered subs @ 34 hz it did a 142.7. Congrats Ernie!

I have been waiting on posting this until I can hook up with my brother and use his digicam to try and get a nice video, but that does not look like it is going to happen this week, so here goes............ I dont know if i'm askin this too early but since they are available now, what is the box requirements for all XCONs? Also, what is recommended tuning?

just wondering if anyone has run a xcon in a sealed box ? i know this woofer is a all out high power sq sub and would like to know its best application. sealed or ported in a low tune box. im thinking of doing a single 12 in the back of a suv with a 1500d or aq2200. any imfo about this sub or opinions welcomed. I know it just hit the market and there are limited amount of users

After a long time debating what sub I'm gonna choose, I decided I'm gonna go with an Xcon 15. My question simply is, whats the ideal size for a sealed enclosure for 1 Xcon 15. I have a Crown Vic, so I have plenty of room. Thanks in advance.

does the xcon sound nicer? im assuming so just because its a sq based woofer but i dont know for a fact. and how do they compare in spl? this guy i know has 4 15" dd 3500s with about 1300 - 1400 rms going to each one and metered a 153 on the termlab. would that be a do-able score with 4 15" xcons on their rated 1750 rms?

my buddy had me design a box for 4 icon 12's and i was wondering how this would work. box would be tuned to 28hz external: 17x38x41 internal: 14x33x38 port: 5x14 (20 long) (firing back) double baffel going into an explorer keeping the second row and running on a 3000d or 3500d (he said he was gonna try and find a 3000d used in good shape) and box would end up at about 8.78cubft after all displacement. the top and back parts were just there for me to get an image in my head. any suggestions? think it'll sound good? port nose problems? just tell me how ya feel i guess lol also, please check my math on tuning ect. if you dont mind

Rated at 1750rms, but what could these really take? Could these handle 2500 for a few minutes?
