I have a single 10 right now and will be upgrading with a second soon. I would like to know if these subs can handle maybe 900 watts for a daily driver? Dual 2 ohm DVC and box at 2 cubic feet.

Hey guys before i get completely torn a new one the dimensions of this sub arent clearly listed on the website. I am working with very marginal clearance and i was hoping someone could help me out her. first off im looking to do 2 SSD10s under the back seat of my truck so space is tight to say the least. Does anyone have a picture of these or could help me with dimensions? Things that i know, the mounting depth is 6 inches. the only pictures that i saw had the mounting depth closer to 7 inches. When did they redesign this sub? secondly i know at the widest point the magnet is 7.5 inches in diameter. Can someone please help me with the dimensions of the magnet. The a…

I was originally looking at getting a SSD 18, but it seems like a lot of people have SSD 12s instead of the 18s. Is the 12 better or something ? I would assume that the 18 would get louder, and that is what im going for. Im not really entirely sound quality. I was also wondering if anyone had any good box specifications for a SSD 18.

800w @1ohm and the sub would be sealed, flatwind doesn't seem neccessary. also thinking about a Q10 ported because i've always had a thing for single ported 10's. going behind the seat of a reg cab Ram, would have around 1-1.25ft sealed, or up to 1.25 net ported.

Howdy everyone. I have pretty limited experience with car audio and I was looking for some opinions on what I had in mind for my next build. (I just blew my old subs, not too sure how, but they were junk anyway.) I was looking at the SSD 15". I'm going to make a custom box thats going to be right around 4 cubic feet after displacement and tuned to 33hz. The amp I'm looking at is the Rockford Fosgate Prime R1000-1d. It's rated at 1000 watt RMS @ 2 ohms. I was thinking I would go dual 1 ohm's and wire it up to 2 ohms. Now would I have to add the flatwind coils since I would be putting it 200 watts over the RMS rating? Any criticism/opinions welcome, thanks.

ok, a buddy of mine has 4 cheap memphis power reference 15's in a s10 blazer run off a mtx 1500 watt amp. Now, after hearing my bl 12", he either wants to go with 4 ssd 15's or 2 BL 18's. He is going to get 1 sundown 3000d. Both boxes would be ported and he has plenty of space, he took his back seat out already. I told him 2 BL 18's would be plenty. Which do you think would be better. He listens to mostly rap, some country and rock. He also has upgraded alt, and couple kinetik 2000's.

I currently have 2 SSD 15s (with copper coils) in my jeep wrangler. I have them in a ported box but they just arn't loud enough for me. They're on a sundown 1500d and i have another sundown sitting around waiting to be used. I'm wondering if 4 SSD 15s in a sealed box would be louder than 2 in a ported box. I don't think i have enough space to put 4 in a ported box. Would 6 SSD 15s be noticeably louder than 4? With 2 i can give them more power than they can handle. With 4 they'll probably get about 750 rms each. With 6 they'll probably get about 500 rms each. Is the increase in cone area worth the decrease in power per woofer? I'm planning to make a fiberglass box so i thi…

Just to give you guys an idea of a score these can put up... 142.5 outlaw on a Hifonic BXI1206d, stock electric, 4 gauge wire. Done in a 1988 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon. Box was 3.75ft^3. 46Hz. Burp done at 48 Hz. Being it was my first even I got nervouse on the sweep and screwed that, so had no peak freq yet. So Being as my peak was 46 in my old Subaru wagon with a different box I figured it could be round abouts there. At 140ish Dbs my CD player started to skip, so I was stuck rolling the volume and capped at 142.5. Only imagine if I knew my peak and the CD player didnt skip . Just thought I would post the score. Remember, 3.75 cubes, 15" SSD, stock electric probably getti…

Hey! I finally got my MTX TC8001 amp. 800 RMS @ 2 Ohms. Performance certificate says 916 W, if that helps... I want to get a SSD 15" sub (dual 1+1). I'm going with a ported box, tuned @ 33 Hz. Should I go with a stock SSD with this amp? Or do you recommend coppercoil or FlatwindCoil? Thanks

I am new to the car audio scene, and I would like to get the best bang for my buck, but I also want to "go big". I Have never seen an 18" subwoofer box before let alone an 18" subwoofer irl. I know they are pretty big, I want to know the standard ported box recommendations for an SSD 18, and if that box will fit in my 1990 jeep YJ with the back seats out. Help from you experienced set of guys would be very greatly appreciated!

I really want to buy a pair of ssd 18's and run them sealed, but everyone on this site say no. I plugged the T/S specs into Win ISD and it seems to be OK sealed in that sense. Qts is very high at 1.22 in 4 cubic feet. Here's what I have text-wise: 25.00 -9.42 -9.42 30.00 -5.73 -5.73 35.00 -2.66 -2.66 40.00 -0.28 -0.28 45.00 1.32 1.32 50.00 2.18 2.18 55.00 2.50 2.50 60.00…

ok I hate to sound like a noob but I've never delt with restricted space and a sealed box before so the box I've had built for my 03 silverado ex cab is for 2 10's firing forward under rear seat it has a total of 2.4 cu. ft. so after displacement wich is 0.12, cu. inches per that should give me about 1.08 cu.ft of airspace per sub right. The box was originaly going to have 2 RE se 10's but have since decided to try the ssd's since they have similar specs and recomended airspace, and I dont want to F*** up so thanks in advance for any help

Hi, im jay, i was wondering about the SSD15, I noticed it is 800W RMS if i wired it @ dual 2 ohm to make it 4, AND put it on a [XLS crown802] which would give it 800W@4ohm perchannel, and 2100@4 bridged, Do you think it could power it? and if so how about 2 of em from the bridged? thank you and please respond respnd back if possible! Also what would i need to tune it to to listen to NUTTIN but low, around 28-32herts? thx! -jay

Need some help, I have an 09 Silverado ext cab truck, and currently I have 2 type r 10's and a PA BAMF 2000/1 amp, the box is tiny, fits under the back seat and down fires (sealed .6cuft each sub) . My buddy with the exact same truck, just put in the same box with JL 10w3's and a JL Slash 500/1 amp. His system KILLS mine!! My type r's sound terrible. I thought it was the small box but a local shop told me it was most likely the crappy amp that I have. So, I have decided to throw my current set up in the trash and do it right this time. My question, should I go with the SSD 10's or wait for the new Q's? The amp I will use to power them will be a Sundown SAE-1200D (unless …
