Im sick of changing my mind lol.. Basiclly, I found someone else with the same jeep as me and he says that side firing is the best for ours because the port needs room to load, and it doesn't have the room it needs firing directly into the rear hatch. Any truth to that? How much of a difference is it going to make going from 6 cubes with 96sq/in of port area to 8 cubes with 128 Sq/in of port area? Can someone help me design the box. I mean I have the basic design down, But I need to know how to do the port. Cause I am lost.

Hello everyone, im new to Fi and have decided to try out one of their drivers, however i need some help. I just recently ordered a 12 BL D2 w/ cooling on the 18th and went down to a local shop where im getting the box made eventually and showed the guy the BL's specs which i had written down so he could get an idea of what he would be building. He took a look at the driver's FS of 37.8hz and thought i was crazy for getting a sub with such a high FS...saying it would suffer in lower frequencies. So i starting thinking perhaps i should of got a Q instead of a BL. Ive got a Nine.1 @ 1200 rms to throw at it for Daily Driving...not SPL comp/burping, etc, just a street beater …

I just ordered a 15" BL with cooling, flatwind, and unversal. Along with a recone kit for a 12" RE SX sub that I will sell after I recone it. So that 15" BL will be powered by a RF T10001BD whenever I get the amp back from RF, warranty work... That BL will go in my Scion tC, hopefully I will manage to build a 3.5cuft box and do an external tube port, and port that to 30hz. The reason why I want to do tube port is so that I can change it and tune it higher for competitions. I'm just hoping that that box can fit since the Scion tC trunks are kinda small. The box that I did have in there for the RE was 2.5cuft already. With the new box I will remove the spare tire and…

Fi will be at SBN Daytona March 23-25th. We will have shirts and stickers for those that stop by (until we run out ) Come hear your favorite song and head cracking levels with the Fi Bassrace Crew... not too mention the insane SPL numbers being turned in the Drag lanes. ****During this period we will have people working production at the factory, but with reduced staff on hand, you might experience an extra day or two of build time**** Sorry Thanks, Scott

Description:I recently got a 15" SSD. So far it is great, and sounding better and better since the cone is starting to be able to flex more. I am very happy with the system. My girlfriend usually doesn't like bass, but says this one (system) sounds good, so props to the guys at Fi for making that possible! Here is a picture of my system as it sits in my car. Enclosure design: For my enclosure I built a box tuned to 33hz, and it came out to 3/5 cubes. It is 35x15.5x21. Here are the plans I used: http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0 And a diagram I followed: I always though black ports look much nicer with black subs, so decided to go that route. O…

recently added a new car to the family and i am looking a new install. i am currently running a 15" aa ava. off of a hifonics bx1000. i have been very happy with both of my products from aa, and seeing as how you guys are going to be responsible for their new lineup you would be the best source of information. long story short, i am looking for a sub or subs that come the closest to the sound capabilities of the ava. be it from the fi lineup or the aa lineup it really doesnt matter. the subs will be going in the gf's 05 grand am. she likes the "low rumbly bass" but also wants it "kinda loud." have a gross of 5 cuft to work with and say no more than 1500 watts for power. h…

Thought I would share some of my install pics on my Chrysler 300. This was built to be a SQ car and the whole theme was to make the car to appear as factory as possible and able to return the car back to factory when that need arrises. There are only 2 factory pieces that will need to be replaced to return it to that form. the dash bezel, A pillars are the only thing modified that cannot be returned to house the factory equipment. the doors were not cut into, actually the factory speaker grills were plastic welded in place and we can simpliy remove the buildouts and reweld them back into place. There was not a single factory wire cut in the car, if one needed cut a n…

Hey, I'm not really sure where to post this comment so I figured this would be the best spot since it's pertaining to my fi gear. I am considering going to my first comp, trying to find somewhere within 4hours of Myrtle Beach SC and I think the closest place is roanoke rapids next month. I am not sure which class I will be in trying to find out before I go. I will be competing with my daily driven yukon, boxes come above the window line (where in a newer yukon they would not ) I have 2 18" btls, 3 batteries (might get a few more, depends on class) and 2 4kw amps. If any more info is needed please let me know, I'm just trying to make sure I don't drive half a day to get…

Hey guys, Well as expected, when I got home from school there was a present waiting for me from Fi. Customer Service First off, I would like to thank Scott, Nick, and all the guys "behinde the sceens" at Fi. They helped me from the day I wanted an Fi, untill the day it as on my doorstep. Although they are very busy, they still make sure you get your questions answered. 10/10 A+ Shipping/Packaging As expected, Fi is very busy with their evergrowing popularity. My 2-3 day rated build time took about 7 days. When it did come, the packaging was great. The sub was not going anywhere with the blue hard foam (see pics), and it was very secure. Box was not damaged at all, and o…

I was wondering if I ordered a BTL with the universal option and dual 1 ohm VC what will be the cost of having them changed to dual 2 ohm VC in the future. I'm having a tough time choosing what subs to use. I feel if I use the BTL's I will need massive power to be happy with them, but I currently don't have the funds for massive power only funds for a little power including battery and alternator. I also feel if I get BL's I will eventually want to upgrade to BTL's. Fi is making this a very hard decision. BTW, am I going to hate the BTL's sq? I listen to rap alot but also enjoy rock and plan on demo'ing with my truck for others. So being able to reproduce music of all ki…

Just thought I'd chime in... haven't been around any forums lately, and I haven't talked to Scott/Nick/Shawn for a couple of months. I'm glad to see business is still booming. I purchased my first 18" fully-loaded BTL in August I believe... waited for my 20.1 to come in. Got the 20.1... and we built a 10 cube ported box, tuned to 30hz in the trunk of my 1996 Chrysler LHS. I gained close to 6 decibels going from an 18" SX and an Orion 1200D to an 18" BTL and a 20.1. My buddies Tom (forceofwill) and Robin (iamamp3pimp) with the BTL: After a local show (not sanctioned): It was loud, lasted me a few months... but then I had the desire to do a wall. It started out as a smal…

Im looking into buying 2 15''s from Fi, the BL or the BTL. The only problem is since BTL is regarded somewhat as a SPL sub, Im curious if sound quality is lost in the process. So my real question is, do the BTLs have decent sound quality (in a well built box of course) and also how do the BL's sound?

Well sorry it took so long to post, but I've had poblems with my log in and had to redo another one. Scott, I had some trouble getting ahold of you at first because you had no phone number. I am glad I waited, Thank you for responding to me about the subs and getting them made and shipped to me in a rush. Thanks bro.... you'll have another order for two more subs in just a bit. On the weekend of March 3-4 we went out to spring break jam and took 1st place with RXZILLA with a 156.2 and took the world record at 151.3 in the Pro-stock 0-600 class. Not too many people knew about FI AUDIO but after that run....everyone was refreshed about your product. Thanks again Scott. A s…

I bought two 12 Fi Q subs about 4 months ago and I haven't had anything but good things to say about them. Everyone who gets a listen smiles instantly and asks me all about them. So the reason for me wanting new subs? None really, just getting a new car so I figure now would be the time to get the louder audio setup. I actually got into an accident not to long ago in my Lincoln LS and it seems to be totaled so I should be going to pickup my Audi S4 sometime this week. Anyhow, right now I have two Fi Q's in a sealed enclosure powered by a sundown 1500d. It gets pretty loud, but theres always room to get louder I haven't actually seen the trunk size of the S4 in pers…

I noticed alot of people are having FI recone their other brand name subs, I am wondering if this could be done to one of mine I have sitting around. I have a Soundstream T2 Tarantula 10" DVC 1 ohm 900 watts rms. It does have 3" coils, can FI recone this? If so, how would this change the sub from its original configuration, or how would it change the T/S specs of the sub if at all? I have a 10" BL right now, with only the daily and universal options, could FI recone the T2 so it could run with the BL in the same enclosure? I am posting here as it has been stated that FI is QUITE busy, so if anyone can answer this question or give an opinion I would appreciate it Here is …

Sent scott an email, but I understand he is super busy so I figured I would post up a topic here too. Ok I have a RE MT motor, that I need a recone for. Need everything but the dustcap, (recone, gasket, and a 12" basket). I really need this recone by next friday ( a week from this friday). What is the usual turn around time for a sending a recone out? And also I left out in my eMail I would also like a 2nd day air quote for shipping, because the sooner I get the softparts the better . shipping would be to 71052. Thanks again.
