we all have review of the Fi products... but i felt we didn't have a solid review of this company... So i decided to review the company or more so it's employees.... I have been on this board since November of 2006 which is when i became interested in Fi products.. If i recall (Scott, Nick or Shawn may correct me if I am wrong) but Fi was started in the later half of 2006 I believe around August.. So i have been around here shortly after Fi birth... I have dealt with many direct companies before... JL, RE audio, Us Amps, Kicker, Mb Quart, Alpine and A/D/S to name a few... Some have left a really bad impression on me and some have made a lasting impression on me.... Fi is …

Hi all, i know that 1/4-20 will work, but will 5/16-18 bolts work? i will be using tee nuts and bolts to hold the sub in. the sub is the Fi Car audio BTL 12". basically just want the biggest bolt that will work. im sure there are plenty of people out there that can measure the mounting hole size and the rubber seal c'bore size. I just want to get the stuff on order and installe din the boxes before the sub gets here so its a quick intall. also i would assume the 18"s have the same sized mounting holes and c'bore in the rubber seal? Thanks in advanced, Anton Miller

I now have my 2nd 18inch fully loaded btl, This time am planing to build it for my large home theater room setup powered by a home DIY amp that can produce 2.5kwrms. in our country we use 220vac. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/pilyo168/schematics/5000W_power_amplifier.jpg -------------------------------------------------------------- As for car design. From Fi tech recommends: Fi BTL 18 – Ported box we recommend using 5-8 cubic feet @ 30-35Hz tuning, you can tune a little higher if you wish but we recommend keeping it close to 32hz for a daily driver. Again the same 12-16 square inches of area applies per cubic foot of volume. ---------------------------------…

First my brothers now mine and I've read of several others... So of course I had to go about fixing it... Had to shim the gap to respace it evenly, and you can see the bottom left screw isnt there and that lines up with where the crack first showed up A little innovation and lots of epoxy fixed the magnet Looks kinda artsy if you ask me If youre wondering about the 18 ga wire coming out of the sub those are my leads to the coil since I blew that a few months ago and rewired my own Just thought Id share my most recent headache with the Q, but its back to beating and sounds pretty good so I cant complain a whole lot, or maybe i should and try to get a discount on the…

So.....I just installed the 4 Q15's in a sealed enclosure (8.6ft^3 after displacement) running on a IA 40.1. The car is a '07 Dodge Magnum, a 140amp Alt, and a 2nd NSB90 Battery. The meter was an AC, but it was recently calibrated and actually metering about 3 db lower then the other one I was previously metered on...(not that that reallly means anything) anyways, I hit 163.5db outlaw and 162.1db legal. I am competing tomorrow on another AC, and I'll let you know how I score there.

I want to push 8-10kw to 4 (four) 1-ohm DVC 15" Fi BTLs. (I'm too scared to go much above RMS, you freaks.) What are my options? The subs can be wired to 2ohms. I was originally planning to go with two strapped Sundown SAZ-4500ds but they are now discontinued and unavailable. I then almost ordered a Warhorse but at the last moment read the manual and it's got some fucked-up wiring scheme that means you can't hook up 4 1-ohm DVC subs. After that my options seems few and far between for this much power. Please suggest some amps that actually look like they might be in stock somewhere...

Okay so i went to Freemans Audio today to give the guy my idea of what i wanted to do with the box. I arrived with the intention of sealing off the trunk and having the sub faced towards the cabin.... the guy said that it would be better to have it in the trunk facing the trunk becuase it would resonant off the trunk, if it fired into the cabin, i would be the first thing it hit... For "my way" wouldnt there be less trunk rattle and it be louder to there ear? versus "his way" would have more trunk rattle and some of the sound would be sealed in the trunk??? I dont have to long before i have to tell them my final plan... tommorow they will most likely start working on it a…

First off I should say this is a great site, especially having the manufacture forums. Back early on in high school I was in a friends regular cab truck, with what I later learned was 500 watts going to the subs, and I guess you could say it left a footprint in my mind about car audio. Scroll ahead to me being 23 now and after spending a couple years in performance and looks category I have started to piece together my first car audio setup. I have been trying to learn as much as I can for what seems to be close to a year now, I know some of you must be thinking 'what's with all the wait?' I have learned with especially performance it is not always the best of things jus…

Okay well I broke my sub (Fi BTL 15) in for about a week so I turned my amp up (Power Acoustik BAMF 4000/1D). It claims 2200 rms. When I turn the bass up high enough the sub will start making popping noises, I'm pretty sure my amp isn't going to bottom out a BTL so I figure my amps just giving a clipped signal. I checked my wires going to the amp none of them seem to be pinched anywhere. I'm running 8 gauge that I had to cram into the terminals on the sub. Do you think that is where my problem is that maybe the speaker wire is falling out of the terminals or messed up? I would look but taking my box out is quite the pain I don't wanna do it if I don't have too. My only ot…

Might be getting a Chevy Avalanche at the end of the week... Planning a system for it since it will be my new daily ride. I know that I can fit 6 18s inside there, but the airspace is small. Would be around 2.8 sealed per sub, then I would polyfill the heck out of the inside of the box. That would get each sub seeing around 3.4 cubes roughly. They would be in a sideways clamshell, so that would help them load off each other. Think I could get away with this with any of the subs FI/AA makes? Maybe the SSD? Q? Chaos? Havoc?
