General Fi

Hi, I am driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee (1993) and my current set up is a Memphis MOJO on an Alpine PDX 1.1000. As far as wiring, i have 4 AWG power wire for the amp (Knukonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable), and I have put in a 0 AWG wire (also Knu) for the battery to chassis ground. I was going to complete the big 3, but was told by a mechanic that the other two were not necessary for my setup (stock 90 amp alt currently.) I receive decent voltage drops (almost massive at idle if i'm not careful.) About 3 weeks a go, my voltage dropped to the point that my amp went into clipping (or at least this is what I think caused it. Gain is set right on or a little below half). L…

I went outside this morning to work on my alternator that has been giving me problems and when the garage door opened up the was a fedex guy digging through his truck. Since he was on the other side of the road I just didn't think anything of it. When he dug out a box, struggled to pick it up and then started walking to my house I freaked out. Without any shipping info or warning at all my BL 15 came in the mail today!!!!!!!!!!! I am order #1624 ordered on April 2nd and got my sub in perfect condition today April 26th. Don't even have a box made... Thought it would take a lot longer to get it here.

Need some help, I have an 09 Silverado ext cab truck, and currently I have 2 type r 10's and a PA BAMF 2000/1 amp, the box is tiny, fits under the back seat and down fires (sealed .6cuft each sub) . My buddy with the exact same truck, just put in the same box with JL 10w3's and a JL Slash 500/1 amp. His system KILLS mine!! My type r's sound terrible. I thought it was the small box but a local shop told me it was most likely the crappy amp that I have. So, I have decided to throw my current set up in the trash and do it right this time. Im trying to find an amp that will run with a dual 1 ohm Fi Q at maximum Power for under 300. If anyone could help me please reply and with a link. Ive been contemplating this recently and was wondering how the Fi would do in home audio? I am considering a a IB or a Q but then again I have a spare BL just sitting here. Which would work best and how well will they really perform. Lets be honest here I want loud and good sounding in my car but for home use I am more focused on SQ then breaking things. Thanks

Wat up! I just bought two fully loaded BL 15s.the new version with 4" coils.they are dual 1. I was giving them some free air at around 20-25 hrtz on my sundown 1500d for aBout 10 mins at the most.they BARELY got a Lil warm.nothing bad tho.volume just under half way with the bass knob about half gain.just trying to loosen up the spiders and break in the suspension.they are soooo incrediblly stiff lol but on one of them, as I was pushing up and down on the cone,I see a tiny quarter inch tear in the middle of the spider.was soo bummed..does this need to be re coned or Wat?like i said It's brand spanking new,and it still sounds great and bumps hard,doesn't make any weird noi…

I purchased a new pair of 10" RE MT recones and the surround is about a full inch from the surround landing on my 12 spoke baskets. I've only seen RE MT subs built with 12 spokes so my question is are the recones faulty or are there different size 12 spoke baskets? Mine are just black 10" 12 spokes with the correct size spider landing (8.25 I believe) I e-mailed about this on wednesday and haven't received any response. Just want to know if i need new baskets or if i need to return the recones.

It's great that Ficaraudio is busy and prospering. That means they'll be around for a long time to come. In the meantime, it appears that they have an auto responder taking care of some of the e-mails. Any idea when you guys will be caught up. I sent out 2 emails with no replies. I'm Just wondering what happened with the "customer support"? I received 1 of 2 ssd with wrong fi color. My question was could you send out a free black "fi" sticker to replace with the right color, with out sending the subwoofer back? I know it's such a small thing but when you wait 2 weeks and pay 500$ , you should expect everything to be 10/10. I did mount my subs already as I became impatient over time. What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that the item has shipped or does it just mean that a tracking number has been assigned?

Well I got used to my one bl and now I want something louder. My current setup is a memphis 1500d (1500 watts @ 2ohm) pushing one 15" fully loaded bl in 3.8cuft tuned to 32hz. Thats after all displacement. So I have another 1500d sitting in the closet that I want to use as well. I figure I can fit a 7 cuft box maybe 8 if im lucky. What do you guys think I should do, get another 15" bl or sell mine and get something else? I would like to stay with fi subs and this is for a daily setup.

I have the space for both, the power for both,and the money for both. But which sub hits the hardest, has soild lows and has good sound quality. Is it the SSD 15 or the Q 15? someone please help me out. Thanks How do you calculate displacement for a slot port?

Over the past year alone I have been through almost a half dozen systems in the constant quest to find a sub that was not only loud, but sounded decent doing so. I've owned Alpine, Kicker, and many other brands in between. I would only purchase one sub at a time in order to decide if it was worth buying more than one, and I never bought more than one. I think i will be ordering 2 of the 12' fi q's soon. My question is will these hit harder then my 2 kicker cvr's. I want something louder that hits harder but ive read the q's are more of a sq sub (which i want better sq too) so i didnt know if i should go with the Bl's or the q's My goal is louder than the kickers with better sound quality so any opinions?

Was tired driving home from finals, and about an hour or so away from home....swerved to avoid something that ran across the road (deer?), and rolled the focus at least 3-4 times. The winshield shattered and caved in, front half of the roof crunched, windows shattered, amps and batts were thrown from the trunk, and i guess scattered a good 20-30 feet from the car. Hello. I was looking for a 12" sub that has good SQ, and quite a bit SPL. It will be going in a regular cab truck, with a box that will have between 1.1 and 1.6 cubes. The amp (still unsure) will probably put out 1000 rms, or more. I was not planning on doing any kind of electrical mod (extra battery, etc...)( maybe the Big 3?). I was thinking either the Q or the BL. Could someone tell me there opinion on wut they think would be good for me?
