Got around to building the box today for my BL15. Anywho on with the good stuff... Overall I'm really impressed with this thing. I like it alot. I will carpet it later I just wanted to get it in and start breaking it in. It wangs . --edit-- The 6" Aero is in the box as well. It's not sealed

hi its me again, i currently have a bl15 great sub, Ive seen people seem to like more the 18 inch subs better than 15" are 18 that much better, i see they need a big box but would the output be that much better if yes what percentage increase do you guys think i can get with a 18". Now my other question how can i make a box for one that is going to be in my caddy devilles trunk i cant go higher than 19 inches tall for the box and i dont think i would make it becuase the sub is 18" plus box material .75, so can i make a box facing up and port facing to the back of the trunk?? would that sound good in a car?? thanks again and comments are apreciated.

how much would it be for a recone on a bl 15? i want a 2 ohm with flatwind. when i ordered my sub i got a 1 ohm and i have a saz 1500d so i need a 2 ohm. i didnt get universal so can they make it a 2 ohm? and whats the ELW option? oh and im gona send it to fi.

Ok the title makes it look a little dramatic sorry...but I do need some help/advice here. First off this is my first post and im not that experienced when it comes to car audio, so please no dogging just try and help please. So heres my problem... I got a BL 15 the other day will all the options besides extreme lead and universal. I got a custom box made thats 3.5 cubic feet tuned to 35hz. For some reason I just cant get it to sound that good...it sounds like theres something loose or something, unless thats the way its supposed to sound... like I said, not too much experience with this stuff. Wanting to try 2 BL 18's and will have about 1600wrms going to each sub. Is that too much? if not, which options should i select for them to perform well with that much power. It will be a daily beater/bass racer..box will probably be around 10 cubes net crx style with about 150 sq inches of port if this helps at all.

ok i have 2 18" BL subs dual 1ohm flatwind cooling and pchamfer these are the first model bl's. they are going to see a sundown 1500 to each sub what is the smallest box ported that will be ok for these subs. i want to keep the box under the rear deck in a 1995 fleetwood. between the hinges, theres trunk rods in the way. i'll invert the subs to get a lil more airspace if i need to. just need to know whats the smallest the box can be and sound good

Just wondering if production has begun on the BL's with 4" voice coils? Ordered my 12" on black Friday so I've very excited about its arrival. Haven't seen anyone posts, pics or info about them on the forums so I'm thinking no one has them yet. I know priority was for the N2's because of the extra machining, it would be great to get an update. Thanks, Jupiter

I was wanting to get a Q but then I looked at the new BL and it looked pretty much the same. But do they have the same SQ? I would put the options of cooling, flatwind, and universal.

hey guys i have a question do u think that having the port firing towards the trunk or firing up would make a difference?

I know that because of the weight of the bl15 i need a double baffle box. But what if any is the best way to secure it to the box? (via regular screws bolted in etc)?

I'm looking at 2 used 15" BL's owed by 2 different people. Both are D1's and both are Fully Loaded Daily Subs However, I've been told that 1 has the older style double stacked mag and the other has an identical sized single mag. Did they change the mag design? And if so, will these subs perform differently from one another making them not so good as a pair?

I got my 2 BL's a while ago, back in September. I just got around to getting my amps, so I take everything out of the box to hook it all up, and I noticed one of the cones is rock rock solid. Thats when I really started to worry, I hooked everything up running them at 1 ohm, and played a quick sweep to see if it would unlodge the coil. Nope, just a bad scratching noise, so I quickly turned off the head unit and unhooked everything. So now I am curious what to do. Does the warranty cover this defect? It really sucks that I haven't even been able to jam this sub and its already broken. I sent an email to scott, but I really dont know what he will do.

well, i got on fi site to order my ssd 18's, and noticed first that there was no charge now for the cooling option on the bl's. When did they change it, and does anybody know if they have the magnets or whatever they were waiting on for the BL's? I may be able to just go ahead and get the BL now, well order one now and one in couple weeks. thanks

Hey guys, I have a question about horizontal mounting a subwoofer. I've read various articles on it, looked at the sag factor tech page from adire, and etc... still, i've heard some convincing things about it still not being good. Here's my question for you: I have an 18" BL full loaded and its horizontally mounted. I ran the sag factor equation from adire and it meets the "criteria" of mounting horizontal. however, iv'e heard also that with gravity...it doesnt matter because gravity pulls down on it more and therefore i get more distortion, etc. whats the low down on this? Am i in some bad shape with having my sub horizontal? normally I mount my subs in the typical, firi…

I have 2 18 inch BL's walled off.... is the motor structure strong enough to demagnetize credit cards and swipe cards? This has twice now and I am trying to figure out what the hell is screwing up my work swipe card and dept card.

why is ther such a difference in the motor strenght=bl between the d1 and d2 version of the bl subs

Now, before anyone tells me to read about the options on the Fi site, I'm just letting everyone know I did that. So know that I got that out there, I'm putting a 15 BL in a '93 Saturn SW2 in 4.35cuft@32Hz, and I was wondering what options would be best for me? I will be using this setup for daily driving and I listen to ALL types of music. Right now, I would be feeding this thing 600 watts, but will definitely upgrade to 1000+ in the future. I'm thinking that I will get the cooling upgrade for sure, but I wasn't sure about the flatwind coils. Pretty much decided on Fi for my next sub. Going for a single 12 in the trunk of a saab. The amp I have is an Elemental Designs Nine.1 with 1200 rms @ 1ohm or 900 rms @ 2ohm. Question is whether I should go with a BL and push the limits or underpower a BTL? I listen to mostly rap btw. Thanks for any insight!

im lookin for one 18" sub, ive got plenty of power to push either the BTL or BL, so power isnt an issue, im lookin for a daily sub thats good for rock or rap, would the daily BTL be alright for pounding for bout 10 to 15 mins cuz i usually only listen to music on my way to work or on my way home, other than that im stuck at the house, or should i stick with the BL?

well i decided that im goin to buy either buy a 15" BL with only the p chamfer or a 15" Q with the BP option, i have a kicker zx1000.1 rated at 1258 watts total, that box im goin to build is ported and 4 net cu. ft. tuned at 32hz. dont have exact dimensiobs but i will soon. my question is, which sub will perform best with that kind of power. i know that the sound is all box dependant, but which one will most likly get louder, and sound better its my first build, so anything that can get loud and sound good doin it is fine with me thanks
