I'm sick of my mediocre system, and its only been about 3 weeks. My DD m1 did eventually turn on, but is emitting a lot of rf noise. So yay for new amp. I am looking for 1200-1500 watts @ 1 ohm. My budget is 600 dollars. To power a 15" Q. Current prospect amps: US xt4000d DD M1a Diamond D6 1500.1 Electrical Upgrades: None yet. eventually a 180 amp excessive amperage alt and a kinetik power-cell. Power wire is currently 4 gauge with a 150 amp mini anl fuse 8" from the battery. Big 3 is not done yet, it has been too damn cold. The internal Box dimensions will be: 14" tall x 20" deep x 26" wide. 48 sq inches of port (4"x12") 25 inches long Box will be constructed out of 3/4…

Hello. I was looking for a 12" sub that has good SQ, and quite a bit SPL. It will be going in a regular cab truck, with a box that will have between 1.1 and 1.6 cubes. The amp (still unsure) will probably put out 1000 rms, or more. I was not planning on doing any kind of electrical mod (extra battery, etc...)( maybe the Big 3?). I was thinking either the Q or the BL. Could someone tell me there opinion on wut they think would be good for me?

I have alredy sent you both a copy of this e-mail, and Nick replied to me, and said just to print out a copy of this, and send it along. However since all the info got lost on the forum, I cannot do that. If you guys could please give me a confirmation I could send along with my money order it would be great. Hey Scott, (or whoever it may be) I have been eyeing your site, as well as others for reviews and your Fi forum, and think I am ready to buy. I want to buy 1 dual 2 15" SSD w/ flatwind, for a total of $229, the only problem is I do not have a credit card, and would have to pay via snail mail (aka money order). Is this possible, and if it is, who do I make the M/O ou…

So this last weekend I came home for spring break. I have a 15" Q and my brother has a 12" q. Saturday night my sub quit playing and I was a little drunk so I didnt worry about it. On sunday we built a new box for my brothers new truck(he unhooked in perfect condition 3 weeks ago) and by the time we installed it we realized the top magnet was cracked all the way around and shifted about a 1/8 inch, so the coil was grinding and sounded awful. We ghetto fixed his by beating the magnet back into place with a rubber mallet and siliconing it in place, now it sounds fine. The next day I went to diagnose my problem. I blew the sub when I was drunk when I turned my deck and b…

Okay well I broke my sub (Fi BTL 15) in for about a week so I turned my amp up (Power Acoustik BAMF 4000/1D). It claims 2200 rms. When I turn the bass up high enough the sub will start making popping noises, I'm pretty sure my amp isn't going to bottom out a BTL so I figure my amps just giving a clipped signal. I checked my wires going to the amp none of them seem to be pinched anywhere. I'm running 8 gauge that I had to cram into the terminals on the sub. Do you think that is where my problem is that maybe the speaker wire is falling out of the terminals or messed up? I would look but taking my box out is quite the pain I don't wanna do it if I don't have too. My only ot…

Well I got used to my one bl and now I want something louder. My current setup is a memphis 1500d (1500 watts @ 2ohm) pushing one 15" fully loaded bl in 3.8cuft tuned to 32hz. Thats after all displacement. So I have another 1500d sitting in the closet that I want to use as well. I figure I can fit a 7 cuft box maybe 8 if im lucky. What do you guys think I should do, get another 15" bl or sell mine and get something else? I would like to stay with fi subs and this is for a daily setup.

Need some help, I have an 09 Silverado ext cab truck, and currently I have 2 type r 10's and a PA BAMF 2000/1 amp, the box is tiny, fits under the back seat and down fires (sealed .6cuft each sub) . My buddy with the exact same truck, just put in the same box with JL 10w3's and a JL Slash 500/1 amp. His system KILLS mine!! My type r's sound terrible. I thought it was the small box but a local shop told me it was most likely the crappy amp that I have. So, I have decided to throw my current set up in the trash and do it right this time. My question, should I go with the SSD 10's or wait for the new Q's? The amp I will use to power them will be a Sundown SAE-1200D (unless …

Hi all, i know that 1/4-20 will work, but will 5/16-18 bolts work? i will be using tee nuts and bolts to hold the sub in. the sub is the Fi Car audio BTL 12". basically just want the biggest bolt that will work. im sure there are plenty of people out there that can measure the mounting hole size and the rubber seal c'bore size. I just want to get the stuff on order and installe din the boxes before the sub gets here so its a quick intall. also i would assume the 18"s have the same sized mounting holes and c'bore in the rubber seal? Thanks in advanced, Anton Miller

Alright guys i have an old box for 2 15's. Its 10 cu.ft tuned to like 33 hz. Im wanting to get some new Btl N2's. But im not sure if i want to stick to 15's or cut the holes out bigger to hold 2 18's. What do you think i should do? Never had 18's. So Im trying to squeeze the most spl's out of it as i can. Also i will be using my Memphis Mojo 4kw amp.

Alright.. first of all excuse my terminology.. probably use some 'wrong' terms in this post, bare with me here is some backround.. 1 18"BTL, 1 SAZ1500D, 2 Kinetik HC2000's, all 1/0 knu wire. Had some guy build a box for me.. thought he knew what he was doin.. i could have been wrong.. the box seems strong.. very huge. I dont know the exact Cu Ft of the box, he told me tuning was around 32hz. This is my first big system.. ive had tons of 12's but no 15's or 18's. Im going to set my voltage with a DMM here in a little while (post my math under for verification). 1) This BTL is insane.. the output blows me away.. hits so damn hard when it hits.. but as far as musical its j…

OK well i had this box i made in my single cab pick up for my single cab pickup and well atm its tuned pretty low....i hit lows real badass...but the highs suck. SOOooo i am going to go ahead and make a new box that will be tuned differntly. What do you all prefer i mean i want loud bass that can be felt and heard. THe lows can be felt nicely and i can do small window shakes but i was told if i tune the box higher it would hit harder but of course lose sq.... I was thinking of tuning my box to 36. The subs btw are 2 Fi Bl 12'. Well the question i am really asking i guess is what would i achieve if i tune the box low(30) compared to high(37) My videos here http://www.youtu…
