I like loud and yes the 4 Q15's Sealed in LOUD!!!!, but I think I may change up so I don't have such a huge box in the back. When I was running only 2 Q15's ported in my magnum, my boy was running the single 18" BTL ported in his Impala and we were hitting identical #'s. He was pushing the BTL with a Power Acoustic 2000 and I was pushing the 2 Q's with a US Amps MD2. We both metered 152.7 legal on an AC mic. Once I stepped up to a 4 pack of Q15's and an IA 40.1 @.5ohms, I got about a 5 db increase and alot of air movement, which makes for nice hair videos..... I JUST RECEIVED MY ib3 12 sub which looks better than imagined and alot heavier too!! i read that its 550@20hz. i was looking into getting an alpine pdx 5 for my car wich is 350 rms at 2 ohms. does wattage affect output in a free air sub? does the 550 @ 20hz mean i shouldnt give it more than 550 or would 550 be the minimum power. i dunno, its a bit confusing. some help on this would be appreciated im not much of a noob in the audio world so scientific explanations are welcomed! haha

im thinking to get a FI BL, i've got now an hifonics asx 15 subwoofer i just wanna go much louder, and maybe is the quality of the BL sound even better to?

i ordered a recone but there is no n2 recone but there is a new single magnet recone so are the soft parts on the btl saucer the same as the new btl n2?

At the end of this month I will be purchasing an Fi Q12 for the great north. It will be installed in a 2005 jimmy 2door with lots of room. Atm I plan on using a Sounqubed Q1-1200D. At 2 ohms it states 870x1 at 2ohms and 1470 at 1ohm. Im wondering do you think running it at 2ohms will give the Q12 enough power that it sounds good and not sluggish or do I have to go at 1ohm. Will running it at 1ohm take away some of the reponse/clearness of the Bass? Should I go with the Q1-2200D for 2ohm? ok everyone I just installed my 2 - 12" fi Bl's running off a RF 2000.1 ....Tomorrow (6-17-09) there is a local car show thrown by a radio station in my city and i would like to enter into the "bass-off" and "bass-race"competition. this will be my first time doing any competition like this and i would like some advice on how i should approach it: such as .....should i play music or use like a bass cd or even use like a test tone cd. am i supposed to have the windows up or down? In my search for some subs I've been pointed to this forum. I'm looking to replace a set of 12'' Type-R's. The Type-R's were a decent SPL sub but I'm looking more for SQ. I'm hoping to achieve the SQ and SPL same as, or close to a W7. I listen to 50/50 rap/rock. As of now my plan is...... 2 12" Q Series 2ohm Box & Amp: 2 Alpine MRD-M1005's (each 1000x1 at 2ohm) Sealed rectangular Box 1.3 cuft per sub 1999 4 door Tahoe. behind the second row, subs facing downwards Also... I am thinking of buying a 95-01 4 DR Blazer or 95-01 Explorer 4 dr and I want to start off with two 15" BL's (dual 1 ohm) ported and for the amp either a Sundown SAZ-3000D or a Hifonics Colossus. I was reading and the BL's seem to be what I want...The Q's are the Sound Quality woofer and The BTL is the all out SPL BASS MONSTER,and the SSD being the entry level woofer the BL' claims to fill the gap between the Q and the BTL. Alright so heres my situation. I currently have 2 12"alpine type R's. They are dual 4ohms and i have them wired up at 1ohm on my mtx amp. My amp is a ta7801 which is advertised at 1200w rms at 1ohm. But the birth/dyno sheet with the amp is 1663rms. I am pretty happy with this setup but just like everone else, you always want something newer and louder. ok guys so i came across an alt on ebay and its pretty and i was wondering if you guys could take a look at it and let me know what you guys think because i just dont have the funds right now to buy a dc as much as i want too. Alright, first post here, but I'm not a newb. Been building boxes and installing for 9 years or so. I just ripped my wall out of my 01 Implala (4 RE SX 15s, Mojo 4000d, 5 batts...) and I picked up a pair of Q18s from a friend of mine. The following equipment is being used: Alpine 9886, ID Chameleon Components, old school Orion 2500d (the all silver one) and an old Orion 300.2, alt is an Iraggi 200amp. After I ripped my wall out I ran just the 300.2 on my components and ended up with some horrible alternator whine. I've never had whine before. I think i will be ordering 2 of the 12' fi q's soon. My question is will these hit harder then my 2 kicker cvr's. I want something louder that hits harder but ive read the q's are more of a sq sub (which i want better sq too) so i didnt know if i should go with the Bl's or the q's My goal is louder than the kickers with better sound quality so any opinions?
