I'm planning on buying a 18inch fully loaded BTL. I have a few options in mind for an amp. I personaly like Soundstream amps. Hifonics as well as Planet audio make cheap but powerful amps.IMO JBL make the best underrated amps but there are so many choices to choose from. On this forum Sundown is the amp of choice by many. I found this link with a list of some athe most powerful amps on the market. Take a look at this link and tell me how accurate you think this list is also wich amps you think don't belong on this list. http://www.lightav.com/car/amps/poweramps.html

It's great that Ficaraudio is busy and prospering. That means they'll be around for a long time to come. In the meantime, it appears that they have an auto responder taking care of some of the e-mails. Any idea when you guys will be caught up. I may be ordering drivers in the next week or so and I had asked a couple questions that I didn't necessarily think were fodder for the general forum. Carl

Just wanted to drop a line about the guys at Fi Audio. I ordered my Q12 on April 4. I just recieved an email that FedEx picked my package up today and should be delivered to me at the latest by Friday. Not a bad turn around time, took exactly 16 business days for it to go through the build process. I got an email last Thursday that they finished all the steel and were waiting for the motor to dry. I wasn't expecting the assembly to go that quickly. I had excellent customer service since day 1 and I would tell anyone contemplating like I was doing to just buy it already, you won't regret it. I had time to get the rest of my build together and am basically plug and play whe…

From 4 subs to 1 now its louder, clearer, and has more low end. VERY VERY VERY satisfied!!! thanks! My rear view mirror wont stop slappin, and my doors are all flexing not to mention the roof, quarter panels, and hatch.

  8. My BTL is fully functional; however the cone is horribly dusty and dirty from the previous owner. Any ideas on how to clean it? Didn't wanna wipe it, as moisture seems like a dangerous thing to apply to a paper cone.

  10. This is my basic wiring diagram for my pair of D2 10" Q's. I have a dual chamber box w/t .60 cuft in each chamber. Since the terminals are on the left and right side of the subs and I have to connect the subs in both chambers (run wires thru commom middle wall and seal with silicone).............I was wondering is it OK to let the wires just hang free in the box or maybe secure them so they don't just flop around???? I noticed there are little tabs on the baskets, both on the top and bottom. Would it be alright to zip strip the +/- DVC connecting wire that will go over the top of the subs basket to that tab? Or should I just let it free hang?????? Just want to do it righ…

  12. Sorry to say that there will be email and "some" order delays from today through Monday 10-16 due to several of the Fi staff attending the 3 dB Drag world finals shows through the US. We will have 2 people on staff running some production but the balance of the shop will be "closed" through then. We will resume normal production and emails on Tuesday and get things back up to speed and make sure that all orders are filled ASAP. Sorry for the delays, but we will try to keep you all posted on the shows as well. Thanks, Scott

Its looking like a bunch of SSD's or the Ascendant equivalent for the new bass race system, with the amps I will have each sub will be getting about 400-500 watts each (most likely 12 x 15's sealed)....i know thats below the rms rating for the ssd's but the idea is that I'll be able to demo and bang on the system a lot longer, plus i like having a 3in coil woofer. Just wondering if anyone has ever used SSD's with this kind of power? Results?

I am having the hardest time deciding on a sub/amp combo for my new car. I am putting this in a trunk so space is a factor. I'd like to retain some space. The poll lists some of my top choices. I'm also considering porting a Q 15 with one of the amps listed or even porting the SSDs if I decide I can live without a little less trunk space. So my question to you would be if you were looking for LSQ, which of these setups would you choose? If you would do something else, please tell me what that would be. Just FYI, the electrical you would be working with is a stock electrical featuring a 130 amp alternator.

  20. Did a revamp today of my pop's explorer. It had 3 RE XXX 15's. We swapped out for 3 Fi Q 15's with the BP Power Package, and he loves the new subs. Old Setup New Setup Please excuse the mess, I had a little grinding to do on one spot for the subs to fit normally, instead of inverted, and I really like it alot better, and so does Pop. It looks alot cleaner to me, the nice curved transitions look much much smoother. Here is the list of everything in the truck. Hi, i currently own the Q15s w/BP. The SQ is exellent but i would like more output. I have heard BLs dont get a lot louder than the Qs and the BTLs are way louder than both. My question is... Would the BTLs get louder than the BLs on 1500 watts. I dont see anyone running a BTL on 1500 watts. Also, the amps im running are MTX TA8001 1500 watts at 1 ohm (birthsheet says around 1900 watts at 14.4 volts so im might be getting around 1700-1800. Thanks Keith

I have been reading plenty of posts and articles of sound quality, yet many people have different opinions on what a sound quality setup is. I have 3 Rockford Fosgate p2s sealed however, it is not loud enough. I am going to buy either a 15" Fi Q fully loaded or 15" Fi BL fully loaded. Both would be ported and in their proper enclosures with about 1200-1300 rms power running to them in a 2007 hyundai elantra gls.(I have enough trunk space) I have equipped my entire car with dynamat because I like to feel my bass more than others. I just don't want my sub to change the sound of my music when it gets louder. What does SQ truly mean? Does having a ported box mean I don't want…
