Ok I've never put any sound in any of my cars in the past. I went out one night with friends I was able to ride in an SUV with a decent set-up (from what I experienced) and that got me interested. I have a 30-40min ride to work each day and my OEM speakers are going out so I've been doing my research... From what I've read Fi subs have been given great reviews and the only complaints are due to the lead time on getting them. The set up (in my friend's SUV) that I liked was 2 10" JL w7s in a ported box on a 500w JL amp from what I was told. I prefer sound quality over loudness and won't be going crazy loud. The thing I did like was the fact that I "felt" the bass but the c…

I just got done setting my gains with the DMM, my main issue and area of concern is the subwoofer and the Hifonics Bxi1606d amplifier. The component set is working and sounding fine and so is the Sundown SAX 100.2 amplifier. The Hifonics amplifier and subwoofer on the other hand are just being a pain in the ass to get sounding decent. To give you all the information I can on the subject we'll start here. I want that 15" Fi Q sound that we see and hear in videos, the smooth rumbling bass on all frequencies, well-reproduced, very loud, and sounding very good. To achieve this I have done the following. I had the following set on my amplifier and head unit. Amplifier: SSF: 25…

Alright, so months ago I blew my subwoofer. It was still under Fi's one year warranty though so finally, on December 2nd, I sent it in for warranty repairs (with all proper contact information and everything filled out). I contacted Fi shortly after this inquiring how long it might take for them to get the subwoofer back to me. However, this question was not even answered and I simply received back something along the lines of them saying they were very busy and had not even had a chance to look at warranty items (which was understandable considering my sub should have just arrived there maybe a few days before this and since it was right before Christmas). Now here's whe…

As title states, I orded my 18, and now I'm thinking of how I'm making a box, it's going to sit inside of a 2000 Four Runner, last box I made was for 2 12's at 5cubes, 33hz Can I make a box at 6.7 cubes and tune it to 28 hertz? or will that sound bad.. I like low tuning by the way Thanks guys! Also, do you think a Audioque 2200D is perfect for this sub?

Alright, right now im running two Alpine X 10" and i guess there pretty loud and have great sound quality for what iv heard, but iv never been able to find the actual SPL rating on them so i cant really compare them to anything else i want to buy. Basically, iv been thinking about buying new subs for a while now but im not too sure which ones to get. I still want SQ but i want to be a bit louder ^^. Im just looking for any input really, im quite new to this stuff and havent heard many other systems other than my friends 2 W7's. Any suggestions are welcome -Thanks Mike.

hey guys i have a new RF t1000bdcp amp that i have hooked up to my fi bl. i have the dual 1 and have it wired to 2 ohms. i have my gain about 3/4 the way on amp because my h/u preout volts are 2.2v. After i play my music for about 20-30 minutes at about 3/4 volume my amp will get extremely hot iv had people burn there arms on it when they set it on it cuz its on my sackseat and its folded down. I was wondering why my amp is getting so hot its crazy. is it because i need a new h/u with 4v preouts or could it be something else and what? i have no bass boost or anything on on amp or h/u.

I have a motor from an older eclipse titanium (88120ti), which I believe is a 3hp. It has a 6 bolt pattern, which fi uses, and I want to buy a 15" recone kit from them. I want the sub to be able to have flat freq. response from about 25hz up. I want to use a ported box tuned to about 3cu@28hz. I want the sub to pound on the bass tracks (rap), but also groove on tracks with a bass guitar (r&b,jazz, some rock). If I can get the money, I plan on powering it with an eclipse da7232. So my question, can this be accomplished with this motor and fi soft parts? Also, how big of a difference is there between a ported 15 and a sealed 18?

This is the only black Fiday sale we are doing. Don't ask for anything else..this is it. We use a similar motor design for an OEM client, and now we've got a ton of them...so we thought we'd do another black FiDay sale since people were asking if we were. We're not saying a time frame of how long they will be on the website, once they are on and up they will be available to purchase, once they are gone they are gone. I will announce when they are coded and up on the website for purchase on this forum. Old X series 10's and 12's with pricing: $75 - 12" D4 for one (1) $70 - 10" D4 for one (1) 5 bucks off of each at two (2) 10 bucks off each sub at four (4) Plus shipping to …

so whenever you have to install a big 50+ lb woofer by yourself in a trunk you strain the crap out of your fingers and usually need a helping hand. I remember installing my gen 2 and taking a nap right after from being exhauated. The reason im bringing this up is the square (rectangular whatever) motor of the N2 really makes it nice to handle solo: I still have to clean up a bit and put my backseat back in but i at least got to drive around a bit to give it a listen. Initial impressions, compared to the gen 2 in a similar enclosure are just that it comes alive at a lower volume than my gen 2. Its obviously still virgin tight so ill have to loosen it up a bit. Nice to …

Hey guys, just trying to get an answer. I just bought a blown RE SX 12 off of a guy, and I saw on youtube that someone had an RE SX 12 reconed by FI. I am VERY interested in getting this done to my SX, and I've sent a few emails over the last couple weeks but FI must be really busy. I was hoping to get an answer to just a few quick questions. 1. What options do I have on a recone of a RE SX 12? 2. What is the turn-around time on a recone? 3. Price on recone and options? Thank you guys for your time! Brian Mitchell

Hello everyone, I have a 15'' BL fully loaded daily dual 2 ohm, better wires and better cooling. I followed the recommended specs for the box and tunned it to 31 hz, with the right amount of cubic feet, forgot how many cubic feet but i just remember the box is good, and ported obviously, i dunno how else you could tune the hertz on it if it were not ported... My wiring is good 4awg for the power and ground cable. The amp is good, got it new, works well, hifonics brutus 2000 watt amp, the gains on it are optimized to work great with the headunit, the other settings for frequency i dont rem the technical terms for them but i remember they are set so its between the low 29 …

I now have my 2nd 18inch fully loaded btl, This time am planing to build it for my large home theater room setup powered by a home DIY amp that can produce 2.5kwrms. in our country we use 220vac. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u72/pilyo168/schematics/5000W_power_amplifier.jpg -------------------------------------------------------------- As for car design. From Fi tech recommends: Fi BTL 18 – Ported box we recommend using 5-8 cubic feet @ 30-35Hz tuning, you can tune a little higher if you wish but we recommend keeping it close to 32hz for a daily driver. Again the same 12-16 square inches of area applies per cubic foot of volume. ---------------------------------…

I sent out 2 emails with no replies. I'm Just wondering what happened with the "customer support"? I received 1 of 2 ssd with wrong fi color. My question was could you send out a free black "fi" sticker to replace with the right color, with out sending the subwoofer back? I know it's such a small thing but when you wait 2 weeks and pay 500$ , you should expect everything to be 10/10. I did mount my subs already as I became impatient over time. Well anyway hope to hear back , thanks.. I don't know how to post pics..
