quick ? This is the first sub that I'm planing to purchase that has the option Dual 1 or Dual 2. You know most sub are Dual 2 and Dual 4 . Im planing on getting a BTL 12, only one and wire it down to 1 ohm. I usually get Dual 2 , So do I still choose Dual 2? and How do you wire a single Dual 1? Thanks

I got my first BTL 18 about 5 months ago, fully loaded dual 2 ohm version. It was the fist 18 I'd purchased or even heard in person, so I was a bit skeptical because of the mixed things people say about larger drivers as far as quality go. The last two setups I had owned were a kicker L7 15 in 5cubes tuned around 32hz, and and alpine type-x 12 in 1.1cube tuned around 32hz. I had been trying to find a very loud woofer that still sounded half decent, and while the alpine sounded nice, and the kicker got loud, neither did both very well. The kicker was very loud though, so I was really trying to find something that could out-do it. When I started trying to find out about the…

ok..... so i have 2 15" Fi BTLs in a 2006 maxima.....AB 500.1 for power....my electrical system has a 200A Alt, 2 2400's and a 1400 kinetik under the hood... i recently put in an alpine 9887 and since then my output went WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy down. i readjusted the gains just now with a voltmeter, around 70V.....and it barely hits, ive got the setting on the HU MX 3...sub level 15 eq on the low bands +6 and it barely hits.... i checked the ohms with the DMM by turning off car and putting it on the speaker wire to amp....it showed .8-1....... really, my old setup with 2 12" mags + sundown 1500 hit harder then this. its like playing stock subs......any ideas what is wrong here?…

  8. just wondering if anyone is running a lot of power to their ssd's? and by a lot i mean 1000 watts or more......if so, how much power were/are you running to them and how do the subs take it? Just wondering cuz I've been having some financial issues and may not be able to do the monster system i planned to do this season.....I'd like to try and do the 149 class with 4 x 15in SSD's without a wall...

Im looking to upgrade to 18's by the end of summer, and was wondering if you guys could recone my RE HC 12's into 18's. Right now they are being powered by a Ampman Revo 1500.1(which Im sure you are all familiar with) @ 2ohms cause I let the magic smoke out of the other 1500.1(I had two). Anyways if I got them reconed by you would they be ok getting 1500w+ each? Also could you reccomend a reputable shop that would fix my other Revo 1500.1? I havent found anyone local(Jersey) that I would trust to fix it. Sorry for the long rambling questions

I will have a stock car (130a alt., stock battery, big 3 done) and plan to run 1 15" SSD w/ BP power off a SAZ-1500D. Question is, do I buy the dual 1 ohm sub wired at 2 ohms, or get the dual 2 ohm sub wired at 1ohm? Sundown.com rates the 1500d @800rms at 2ohms... Which would be better? Wiring @ 2ohms would have less voltage drop correct? But wouldn't the amp be working harder ie. the gain would have to be much higher when running @ 2ohms? If I ran it @ 1ohm I could keep the gain really low so I'm thinking that this would be better for the amp. Any Thoughts?

so i am trying to figure out which sub to order, i have read multiple posts about this and in the end the person purchases a sub but with no reasoning on there conclusion. so here is what i have to work with. i do alot of offroading so cargo space must be maintained this is why i have chosen the box below. the box is made for a single 10" with .75cuft. i have been wanting a Fi woofer for sometime now. so like the other posts which one and why? pros and cons. both the Q and SSD are rated for sealed enclosures. i would like to run the 10" Q. i would probably run the sundown SAZ-1000D. here is a few pics of the box.

I now have a re se 12" running off of a hifonics amp that is putting 900rms at 2 ohms to the sub, in a 2 cubic foot enclosure ported at 32hz. would it be a sufficient upgrade to get a Fi Q 12", and put it in the same box with the same amp? i would run the amp at 1 ohm. it's 1 ohm stable at 1200rms. and both subs are within the specifications of the box. ups and downs of this upgrade? very noticable difference because of xmax? (RE=18mm, Q=27mm)

Alright Ive heard nothing but good things about you guys, and going to start saving up for my system and plan it out now. I have a 1993 camaro. Now my biggest dilema is my trunk, they are fudgeed in camaros.. I want a system with a little of box SPL and LOUD SOUND QUALITY... I want it to hit pretty damn hard and hit lows...but I also want decent sound quality. My choice right now is either between 2 12 BLS or Q's... Now if I can find anyone to build me a box or give me a design with dimensions for a camaro trunk ill go ported. But for now im stuck buying a box from these guys which only come sealed with 1.0ft per sub for 12s. http://www.subthump.com/acamarowell.htm And w…

Since I have seen some impatient people posting and complaining with no real reasons, I thought I would post up my purchase experience. Thursday the 12th of July: Called and spoke with Scott. We have spoken a few times and done business in the past. I let him know that I would be placing an order the next day, and inquired as to if they had any in stock. Scott let me know that they didn't stock, and were built on a per order basis, so I was understanding that it might take a bit of time. As usual, great guy to talk to, and gave me some recommendations on someone to email about a box design for my setup. Friday the 13th: Placed my order very early in the am. My bank called…

  18. So it appears I may have made my box a touch to large and now im concerned about my sub hitting the back of my seat. I originally intended to recess the sub .75inches in a 1.5 inch thick ring. Not being familiar with the metric system I wasn't aware until about a hour ago of how big 27 mm Xmax was. Unless im mistaken that means the subs cone will have a hair over 2 inches of travel from peak to peak before getting into distortion. My concern lies with forward movement. I figured for .75 inches of forward movement, to find out now after the box is being constructed by me ( out of fiberglass ), that I didn't figure right. SO, how accurate is the 27mm measurment? Is it t…

well i made it to my first show may 16 . < tnespl , rockyhill ct. > i came setup to play music, but ended up in woofer cooker class. so i did what i could with what i had setup. i had 1x btl 15 2x saz1500d ford explorer I got a 147.9 <still had some left> i am verrrrrrrry happy for my first try. now knowing what class i'm in i will build a fart box and do better. most important to me is that my kids wanted to compete and thats why i put this together. they had a great time, and want to do it again. thanks for the great deal on the recones. i was the only one with FI subs at this show, sparked a little interest after i ran.

  23. 18" SP4 mounting depth- 11.75" What is the diameter of the motor with rubber boot? What is the height of the motor from the bottom to the top where the basket attaches? What is the height from the floor to when you reach the bottom of the push terminals? How long are the push terminals? And finally- what is the height from the back of the mounting ring to the top of the motor? I need these measurements so i can begin drawing out the next massive build to fit properly.
