im curious as to how the back end functions at Fi. do orders come in, get qued, and built one at a time or batch jobs? are orders saved up until there is sufficient quantity to make it efficient for construction to begin or is it just on the fly?

Ok so ups delivered my 2 15" btl's today and needless to say I was anxious to put them in. So I used a box that FC designed for me but the cutout is too big. I put them in anyways and get it sop hooked up. Yo I played the first song and I couldn't believe how loud it was! The 2 subs were just as loud as my 4 15's that I had in my previous setup! I can't believe how loud it is! And I was talking about getting 2 18's! To say the least I am very satisfied! I have to keep the gain down because my lights were dimming and also because the subs are leaking a lot of air because of the cutout! Just to imagine that these subs will be louder is amazing! Good looking out on all the…

i just have one 1 18 btl and im hugely satisfied with it. it plays the lows so hard compared to the 2 12 l7s i had before. i think the btl isnt louder in the higher freq but the lows oh my god thats awesome! now i have the chance to sell my btl and im thinking of getting 2 18 Qs in a sealed 9 cft. box because im very impressed by the sq of the btl (although the box i have is crap, less than 5 cft after displacement). is there a comparable sub to the Q? like alpines type x? amp is a bxi 2610. the Qs would run at 1 ohm (2,6 kw rms).

ok so i know this is probobly a dumb question but i have to ask. what is the best series of sub to buy for a daily bad ass bass machine? to fill it in for you here we go...... i have a 86 bmw 325E a friend and i did everything ti this car as a team effort. it has two mephis 5 1/4 on a 2 channle ads, 2 orion 6x9's on a orion 225 and (had) 2 soundstream t4's 15's in a 10 cubic foot box, round ported, tuned for 35 hrtz. the car has two huge glass matte batterys and a 320amp alt on it. now the subs were driven bt a orion d1200...... obviosly way under driven, but it purduced 130 dbs on a normal song ( blur berry yum yum by ludacris). so the one sub re burnt the voice coil and…

This is how it worked out... 28.6 pounds = 12" Q weight. 28.6 pounds = 12 972.7418 grams 15 grams per CD If you do the math you get 864.849453333333 = 865 CD’s. Tommy guessed 864 CD's... The next closest one was JakeTheSnake with 878 CDs Congrats to Tommy! Shoot me an email with your address and we'll get a sub built up for you how you want it. I've got a new game that i'm going to start in the next few weeks that I think all of you will enjoy.

I Have looked on the Fi site and will be using 2 12" BL in a corvette run by a kicker zx2500.1. I was wondering if anyone has put them in a sealed box. I know there are no specs because it is not reccommended, but would it hurt the sub to be in a fiberglass enclosure with the correct airspace?

Hi guys, I installed my 12" BTL N2 2 days ago. The box is ported to 32 Hz, 2.1 ft3. I run a Sundown saz 1500 at 1 ohm. Last night I took time to test this setup and I was surprised to hear a strange sound at the highest volume. I kept the exact same settings than with my previous setup (1 ssa xcon 15" on the same amp). On a certain note on a song from Mike Jones a weird sound is coming from the sub, and not in the port. On low bass notes there is no problem, but on a higher note the sub reacts badly : how can I describe it ? Like a sheet of paper moving ! It's scarry. I need to turn down the gain on the amplifier. I checked the inside of the box, nothing was loosed, …

Now that we have established the new direction we are taking with the trying to re-iterate the importance of having manufacturing (instead of manu-packering) here in the states it reminded me of something I learned of in history class years ago. FDR was famous for his "Fireside Chat's" back in the days of nothing but a radio to talk to the people on a personal level...so this is what we are going to do. Join us in the chat Wednesday nights at 7pm Pacific time (10pm eastern). We'll be having random contests and give away things while we are live in the chat. If you have some technical questions we definitely don't mind helping you out. Scott and I will be on there and try …

I just ordered a BL 12 ohm duel 1. I am not very savvy at all with any of this stuff but know i want good stuff and it to sound good. One of my friends is selling a class D amp rated at 5000watts, I do not know the name of the amp right now, but hes selling it for 150$ because he needs money right now. Of course I dont want to push out 5000watts on my sub lol but I could get a capacitor for it and bring it down to what I want it to be at? I dont really know what im talking about so some help would be much appreciated! And yes, I am having a professional install the sub for me when I get the sub.

Well after a mere 5 months my Q12 has given up the ghost with no warning. I was pretty impressed with the Q. I was running it with a Memphis Belle mch1300 in 2.2cf @ 32hz Fisher box. The Q also had the BP option as well. I will also add that this is the first sub I have ever blown if that gives you an idea of how conservitave I generally run things.

A friend of mine sold one of his 2 Xcons 15". He wants to change to BTL N2. He is ready to buy the first BTL. He will buy the second as soon as he sells the second Xcon. So I need a quote for one BTL N2 15" D1 fully loaded. We'll tell you the color for the dustcap later. Here is the adress : RUE DE LA DORSALE RES AIGUE MARINE; APT 33. BAT A1 97200 FORT-DE-FRANCE MARTINIQUE (FWI) I've already bought a 12" BTL N2 D2 from you in january this year, and will probably make some more purchases from you. I know it's not fun to fill all those international custom papers, but we love your subs ! Sorry !!!

Thanks to everyone at Fi Car Audio. So much for 3-7 days lead time...Ordered Saturday and was shipped Mon or Tues. Decided to go back from the Aq Hdc315 to the new 09 Bl 15. It's great to have the Fi SQ back. And god does it just absolutely slam and hit the notes with absolute accuracy. Especially, during rock double bass. Ive seen little about the 09 BL so I thought I would post my thoughts and pics. This is my 3rd Fi sub and every time, I am happy about the money and time spent. Can't wait to put more time and it and see how she does after break in. Sincerely, Mike Giessen Mike Giessen Racing inc.

Hi, I am completely inexperienced with electrical stuff and have a question about which amp would be better. I have a F-150 extended cab and am planning on getting rid of the back seat to open up a whole lot of a room for a box because I am tired of little systems and am looking to go "all out" this time around. I want to get 2 15 inch BTL's and am not sure which amplifier would be the best for them to get the most out of them. This question is assuming I get all the required electrical upgrades. I have read a lot of things on these forums and most people seem to like the Sundown amps. However I have had my eyes on the Memphis MOJO 16MCD 4kw. Also the Rockford Fosga…

Ok so this is probably not the best place to post this but i needed a final "ok" from some people who know their stuff and i know most everyone on here does so that is why im asking. I am ordering my stuff, probably before the 24th since there is a sale on the amp i want, and just wanted to make sure im making the right choice and wont regret anything and that this will work... This is what im buying: - 1 Fi Q 15" 2-ohm (im assuming DVC so i cant wire it to 1-0hm?) ($304) - 1 Sundown Sae-1200D amp wired to 1-ohm ($310) - Alpine CDA-9886 ($300) - KLM 1/0 Amp Kit ($53) - KLMX 1/0 Silver pwr. wire. 10 ft. for the "Big 3" ($18) - Streetwires 12-gauge speaker wire 25 ft. ($42)…

its so stiff right now i can barely move it with my hand, the coils on the dmm read .7 ohm's and .5 ohm's. regardless of how i wire the VC's it ends up at .5 ohm's, not sure if its my dmm failing or if i just fail at life, any help? final ohm load should be 2ohms FI says .7 ohm's for D1 set so it should be ~1.4-1.5 ohm's

I was just wondering today if you guys were planning on expanding outside of the subwoofer market and venturing into component sets or midbass drivers anytime in the foreseeable future?

It looks as if we have reached the end of an era. The BTL is no longer on the Fi website. Yes, Fi has a website. Lets take a moment and share our favorite BTL experience. My first BTLs were/are the N2 version. I've still yet to try them out in a car, but I have re-coned one of them. It was my first re-cone. Unlike other Fi re-cone stories. My re-cone showed up unexpectedly a week after the order was placed. The glue, which I order after the re-cone, took 2 months to arrive. I did run them in my home theater for a while. The got the job done, no problem. I cant wait to see what they do in my car. Farewell BTL, you will be missed.

Ok I'm sure some will get a kick out of this, but this is my first time with an Fi sub. I have everything wired up and just have to screw the sub into the box, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. It looks like the whole surround is metal with rubber on top. There are some partial holes on the bottom of the metal but they don't match up with anything on top. I'm just a little confused because I thought this would be the easiest part, and I figured I would ask before I go about damaging the sub with a drill. Sub is 12" BTL N2. I've had it for years and never got around to installing it until now.
