I have a 12 Q D2 w/BP power. and just got a SAZ1500D. how much rms can a stock Q take daily. how about w/BP Power. i know Fi recommends 1000. just think it can take more. just want to see how much it can take to adjust the amp properly.

just bought 2 q 18's duel 2, also just bought 2 memphis pr1000.1's chit was expensive but its on the way spent 730 on the amps and 620 for the subs, me and a friend are building a 4 pvc port box, also ive had entry level focals coaxals runing off a the fp4.75(focal amp) and the kenwood excelon x6991 head unit. i hope this chit will be amazing, anyone have a say on what it may sound like? overall this system has vosted me 2 grand but its what i had planned on droppin on it

just got my new fi ssd 12 dual 2 with copper coil & bp power. was planning on going with a sealed box 1.1 cu and thinking bout getting audioque 1200d. will that amp be ok? to many watts? any help greatly appreacited. suggestions? amp? box? listen to everything but mostly rock. going in f150 super cab.

Hi im new to this board and in that case new to subwoofers in general. My question i cant decide on which subwoofer to get. Im going for a slight extra push from my stock audio system, setoff a few car alarms next to me type thing but still be able to hear my music (the voice of the singer). Its a 2004 Honda Accord with stock NAvi system? Any suggestions would be appreciated ps both will run off a jl 1000/1 slash series amp

hey guys, so i'm getting a bl 15 hopefully soon. i was just reading a tread where someone meantioned that if you have a bigger enclosure reduces power handling. would i be ok giving 1500rms to a bl15 in a 4cubic foot enclosure or would i be better off reducing the enclosure size to around 3-3.5 cubic feet for better power handling? thx-phil

I bought a 15 in Q form you guys about 6-8 months ago. It's a dual 2 ohm I wanna know how much would it cost to have it reconed into a dual 1 ohm? Oh it has the bp power option too thx.

I want to the this sub but I dont know if my amp will over power it... It's a Power Acoustik BAMF 2000w 2ohms 900w 1ohm 1200w SSD is rated 800rms but with bp power will it be able to handle the amp?

ok so friend of mine had 1 q 18 and it pretty much was the best sounding 18 i have heard. now i look on hear and see all this cant decide between bl and q. so now yall have me wondering what i want. the one song that made me really turned onto the sub is money on the floor-gucci man, if you want low frequencies listin to it, but besides that ive just wanted what people around here dont have wich is 2 18's and im deffinatly going to go with the Q's or BL's. i listin to alot of rap but i ont want like competition bass i want something that sounds good with music. my original setup i wanted to to was 2 18 q's running off of 2 memphis pr 1000.1's. any suggestions on what…

recently ..ive been on Fi's site and just fantasizin bout my soon to be woofers for christmas ...however ..i planned out my budget to buy the mtx t8001 which is going to give me a final load of 1 ohm..and therefore i needed 2 dual 1 ohm bls.......no prob up till there..however ...comparing the d1 and d2 specs i found the fs on the d2 to be slightly lower..sensitivity a tad higer and..the thing that slaps me on the head =a huge dif in the bl tm(19 tesla m in d2 as compared to 12 in the d1). i dont want to be adversely affected by this in any lack of performance that i could be missing out on..if anyone could give me a better understanding and recommendations on this.…

I am looking at buying 2 18" BTL and the seller says that they are fully loaded but they do not have the 3rd mag. How would this effect the performance of the subs. He says that they have 5 spiders and a fresh recone. My question is how much of an effect not having the 3rd slug has on the sub. Do they not get as loud, do they not handle the power as well? What exactly does the 3rd magnet do for the sub?

Hey there! I'm currently running an RD alpha 12 ported @ 33hz and running it on an RD 1750.1 amp. It gets loud, but its not quick enough in the fast stuff (i listen to some rock/techno, as well as rap/hiphop). Sooo i was looking at getting something different. I've basically been comparing between all the "supersubs", which to me would be IDMAX 12, the new SI mag D2 (shipping soon), the JL W7 (way too overpriced and great but not amazing...). Anyways I know lots about the new SI and understand it will be an all out SQ sub, that happens to handle 1000wrms, so it'll be loud enough, but not amazingly loud. The IDMAX is a great overall sub... but i dont know much about the Fi…

what should the resistance be on the D2 models? i tested mine to day and i got 1.4ohms per vc.?is this right

Ok so here's my story. I want either a single Q 12 or a single BL 12, but i can't decide whether the BL will be loud enough to make up for loss of SQ. I pretty much only listen to rap, and the sub will be in a 2.25 cube box tuned to 32hz. I will be powering the sub off of an eD NINe.1 (1200wrms) so i wont be getting any BP option. the BL looks promising to me, but i have a few questions before i make my decision. Will the BL lack in the low end? Will the BL be audibly louder then the Q in this application? I just installed my new 12Q D1 into a 1.2 sealed enclosure in my truck yesterday. I disconnected the sub and used a DMM to set the gain on my Kenwood Excelon Kac-x1r amplifier (1200w @2ohms).. I turned the gain up until it read 44.7volts for 1000w rms. My problem is that even at low volume there is some distortion coming from the subwoofer. I dont know how to describe the sound but its like if theres a coin being pushed around top of the woofer cone. I checked the subwoofer and there's no physical damage or anything. I checked my box for leaks and made sure all the wires connected and everything seems fine. What could be the problem? Could the subwoofer had blown…

When i am playing Young Jeezy - Put On, with a saz 3k at .5 ohm with volts dropping no lower than 12.6 with the volume all the way up to what i would listen to other songs, i can smell somthing funky. is it excess glue burning off? or should that be my key to back it down?

I've been recently turned on to Fi by how well people talk of them. From the spec side they look awesome, and from the design efficiency side it seems to be awesome as well. Im setting up a new sq system in a 1991 lexus ls400 and im either going to go 1 15-or 18 or 2 12's mostly because of limited trunk space. Im looking at the q's mainly because their supposed sq prowess. My first question is Can the Q's be mounted free air. And even though the q's are more of a linear bass response sub, do they deliver enough punch to respond well to the lows of a rap/electronic beat. Any comments or input would be greatly appreciated.

Just got my fully loaded btl15 this thing pounds. For all of those who are afraid to underpower them, i only have 1000-1200 watts on it and it pounds harder than my audiobahn 15 with 2000 watts, plus it seems to move a lot more air. i can't wait to buy 15 #2 and drop my amp to 1 ohm i thought about putting the whole amp on 1 but since it sounds so good on half the rated power why tear it up.each day this btl sounds better. I dont know why they dont put a warranty on this thing, as a manufacturer i would not be afraid to cover this speaker for a year (at least 90 days). is it because it will supposedly handle more power than rated? sup fellas!! I just want to say thank you, I bought 2 Bl 15" fully loaded subs, put them in a nice 3.4 cube ported box each tuned at about 32 hertz. I'm running them on 2 Rf T1500-1bd at just under half gain with the Hertz at about 45 and all bass boost off and its by far the loudest efing chit I heard in a long time. I keep thinking my subs are blown when I turn it up, the sheet medal on the trailblazer ss sounds like its being riped apart

I'm new to Fi and need a little help deciding the best setup for my car. I have a 94 Firebird(so its a hatchback). not a lot of trunk space in these bad boys for those who are firmiliar. i had 2 12" Kicker Solobaric L7's powered by a 1600D Hifonics amp. The setup hit hard but was stolen. the subs were nice but ik the amp was less than sub par. I am thinking about getting either 1 12'' BL ported or 2 12'' sealed. i listen to rap/r&b music, would be everyday use, and want it to hit but still give me that quality. are the BL's the way to go? any suggestions on an amp would be appreciated as well.
