I am planning on running (4) 15" Fi Q subs in a ported enclosure ran with a Memphis MCD4KW, all in the back of a Chevy Suburban. I will have a 200 amp alternator and 2-3 extra batteries, any ideas of what my numbers should be, we don't have any comps down here in the Dub K (Wichita, Kansas) so any help would be appreciated

How would the upper-bass response (45-60hz) of the SSD's with the copper coils in 1.1 sealed? Are they also pretty accurate? I was considering two 12's hoping to get a flatter response and keep up with the accuracy and low-end of the Q (2.2 @ 32). I'm running 1200w to the Q but have around 1500w on tap with an MD2.

I decided to sell my old 12's and go with a single 12 inch install. Im looking at the 12" SSD dual 2 ohm. IM looking to build a single ported box to replace my dual 12 ported box in my civic. I have a memphis mono 1000D for an amp. I decided to not go with a man stream name like i have in the past and try something new and have heard nothing but good things about FI. So any help on this subject would be aprreciated. I mainly listen to rap and metal. Also i was wondering if my 1000D memphis would be a good match for this sub and also i was curious about about how much does a 12 inch SSD weigh? total or magnet weight? Thanks

I got an 02 2 door blazer, I just bought a sundown 1500d. I had a 15" HC off 1500 watts in a factory spec enclosure, and then I went to 2 12" sx's in a factory spec enclosure with 1000 watts on each. These are the only two sub setups I have had in my life and both were in the trunk of a volvo s70. Now that I have a blazer I am curious as to what I should do and I am looking to go FI.... Thanks!

Hey im kinna new here, so sorry if this is a newbie question. im looking for 2 12's that will go in a lexus es300 trunk. it will be run off 2,000 watts for daily. i have been given the price for 2 sx 12's and i must say, $1100 is kinna expensive for me the BLs look pretty good to me. are the BL's similar (or better) than the sx's? and whats the weight of the BL 12? (the sx 12 is like 24 lbs) thanks for the help....

Which would you do. I listen to mostly rock and rap. My sq sucks right now with my three tens (very little bass in the 60-90 range). This probblem was explained to me as being caused by the cone material of my Diamond D6 subs. My favorite systems in the past used 15's but was thinking of trying a setup with a single 18. I'm sure the sq will be better then what I have right now but I also want to be louder then what I am right now (147 db, unknown meter, will have tl db in two weeks). Either way I would be using a single Memphis 4k. Any suggestions or things to keep in mind?

I have a 3.5 cu/ft box ported at 33 hz with 50 sq/in of port area. I really dont want to build another box because this fits my trunk flush and perfectly. I have cadence zrs-9 amp which is 2k watts at 1 ohm. My question is which sub will perform better in that box and be able to handle 2k reliably. I like the sub getting low and reason im asking all this is the 3.5 cu/ft box is on the small side for the btl but on the big side for the bl but my power is on the high side for the bl. Any suggestion is much appreciated

sup yall, i had two aw151t's in a 6.5 cu ft ported at around 29hz in the trunk of my 97 corolla. anyways i sold them and was concidering a 18 bl in a 6-7 cu ft ported with a zx1000.1 pushing it, what i wonder is, well i hit 139.db with my audiobahns, and had a good "slamming" bass, with this new setup will it be better for loudness and "slam"? i will have to have the front of the box (sub side) slanted so it will fit, but will that effect the sound badly since it will be firing at the lid? any input would be helpful. i planned on ordering it tomorow, unless suggestions lead me in another direction.

I emailed about this a few days ago and havn't heard anything so I figured I'd try here. Had a buddy of mine borrow my car for a week, messed with the gains, and blew up my Q 18" dual 2 ohm. Cut it out and the coil was black and looked like it had been scraping the inside of the motor on a side of it as well. Looking for some info on getting a recone kit for it.

I am planning on buying two MA Audio HK802SX amps. If someone knows about this amp I would appreciate it if you could tell me whether it is a good amp or bad amp. I have seen the other amp of theirs in action. The guy had it moded and it was putting out over 6kw.

Hey everyone, hope eveyone still has some hearing left. I think I'm leaning towards a single 10" SSD. I do not have the car yet and I do not have any amp, components, etc. I am just figuring out what I will go with so I can start gathering the pieces. If I got the SSD 10, what exactly do all the options do? Copper wires, I read, were to extend the low end. THe BP was for more power handling? What is the flatwind? I know the D2 would make the amp run at 2ohm, so the D1 would require a 1ohm stable amp? As for power, I was planning around 600w or so because I don't really want to upgrade the car's power. I hope 600w won't be too much draw for a Honda Civic. So, would 600w b…

Hi again, I have been doing a lot more online research and I have been busy triple checking my available space in my trunk and I have come down to 2 choices for my set up. The car is a 05 chrysler 300c and I have a new Digital Designs M3 for a sub amp (2700 wrms @ 1 ohm). The space that I have available is 5.2 cubic feet after 3/4 mdf displacement but not subs or port. I am trying to decide between an 07 15" XXX in the optimal box 4.0 @ 33 hz with a port face of 54" or 2x sealed 15" Q's in about 2.3 cubes each after displacement/bracing. Which set up will play lower? Which will play louder? I am confident that both will have great SQ as I will be listening to a wid…

OK so I took my 15" FI-Q into the the local shop around me and first he starts off by questioning the stats on the webpage. He says 2-2.6 cu ft is way to big for the sub. Then he starts saying that its just a eclipse base with a paper cone. The guy just kept looking at it and talking about it like I picked it up from a damn junkyard. On another note...I know the FI guys said between 2-2.6 cu ft. but I am wondering what the best size is to get my sealed box made to? I am thinking about going with 2.3 cu. ft. What do you guys think?

Will be giving either one 1100 watts of a memphis Belle Go with a Q12 (stock) or SSD12 with copper coils and the BP option? I'm leaning towards the SSD just cause I haven't tried it and I've owned a Q12 (and loved it) but you know gotta try something new sometimes.

okay this port thing is killing me. so i don't want too many bends in my port if it's slotted but i need like a 45" port with a 1.5 cu ft box. sorry, 3x10 slot port. now if i use precision port or aero ports, what size do you guys recommend and how long? the reason why i want to rebuild... it's because i have a 2 cu ft box tuned to about 33-35 with 2x12" slot port. kinda want to stay in the recommended or little over. i feel that i'm getting too much port noise. anyone with any suggestions?

If I went with 2-BL15s in my trunk I could only fit them each in a 3.2ft3 after port/sub with 50sq" of port tuned to 32Hz. With either a SAZ-3000D or Autotek MM4000.1D pushing them. Do u guys think I would still have the lows even though its a small box? Daily GP
