Currently have 2x12" rockford p3 subs in a shitty pre-fab box with a v12 alpine amp (600rms @ 2ohms, 400rms @ 4ohms) The subs are extreeemely loud, but they lack the quality I desire. (i'd rather have them hit more frequencies and sound smooth over being heard 5 blocks away anyday) I am looking into either getting a FI x or an alpine type-r. (Im going to be running just 1 sub in a box made specifically for it) which do you think would be better for quality purposes? 2nd question is, do you think a 10 inch or 12 inch would be better for listening to mostly dubstep and rap? 3rd question is, the fi x is rated at 400 watts rms. If you think thats a better sub for quality, W…

I have 2 dual 1 ohm BL 12's fully loaded and was wondering why each coil impedance is less than 1 ohm. They are 0.7. Is this normal because my amp is stable down to 1 ohm and i don't want to burn it up.

I got a re sx 10 that needs a re-cone, so I was thinking about re-coning it to a 12 with the FI kit but before I pull the trigger I wanted to know what options to choose and what kind of difference can I expect going from a stock re sx to a fi re-coned sx.

Ordered this bad boy on black Fiday and it's finally here! It was funny watching the UPS guy strain his back while he carried the box to the front door. After opening the box and unscrewing the top cover I was surprised by how beefy the sub was for a 12. The cone was extremely stiff to push down and the size of the magnet is huge. Unfortunately I won't be able to power the sub until the new enclosure is finished and the rest of the car is set up. Anyway here are some pics of the new toy.

I have been doing a lot of research on upgrading my audio setup and came across Fi Audio. I would like to stay with a single 12" sub in a home made ported box from the recommended specifications. I have been going over the different options and this is what i have came up with: Amplifiers: MB Quart Q1.1500D: RMS 850 watts @ 2 ohm, 1500 watts @ 1 ohm. Love the clip indicator Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D: RMS 1200 watts @ 2 ohm, 1700 watts @ 1 ohm. One bad thing about this amp is that it requires in-line fusing (not too big of a deal) I am open to any other suggestions on amps For my wiring kit I was thinking about going 2 gauge back with a 2 way distribution block to 4…

I am pretty new to car audio, but am looking to get a Q 15 and run it with a sundown 1500. Fi suggests 2-2.6 cuft. My main point is understanding how I should tune and set it for 28hz, but have also seen threads saying it should be over 35. Does this depend on the cuft in the box? I think at this point I am reading too much into all this and confusing myself.

I decided that i am buying two Fi SSD 12's and i wanted some advice before i buy them. I know Im going to go with the flat wind coil option. But wanted to know if i should pick the other options like QTS, Cooling, and Internal Lead. Also i decided i will probably go with the dual 2 ohm option so i wanted to know which would be better a sealed box or a ported box and how big should it be. Thanks!

I came across this Fi on my local Craigslist. I've made arrangements to purchase it today from the seller. However, it's not a true Fi in the sense that its been pieced together, apparently with a different motor. I was told its a dual 2 ohm and here is what's used to describe this sub: Would have been nice if it were a complete Fi product, but it is what it is. Anybody recognize this creation and/or its components and does the description match the pictured sub's composition? Also, I'm open to facts/opinions about its performance in its current state. Thanks guys.
