I am just curious how similiar the new X woofers are to the black friday x woofers from a few years ago? I had a black friday woofer in both a sealed and ported box, both optimal, and neither produced the bass I was looking for. By no means did it sound bad, both sounded quite good, just not tight enough of a sound. I was just wondering how, if any, the new X's compare to the older black friday X woofers?

Right now i am running a higher end sony deck, a rockford punch 450wx4 amp for my speakers, 2x 500w mono alpine v-power amps for subs, and 2x 10" alpine type r subs in a sub-zero ported box (all with premium wiring) The system has extremely good sound quality but doesn't quite pack the punch I am looking for, so I have a few questions about fi. Would I be better off just going ahead and upgrading all together to a nice mono amp and a 12 inch bl / btl, or would i get my moneys worth out of using my amps I have with say, 2x 10" x-series (just because the rms matches up with the amps I already have) So basically I am wondering if the x- series are a big upgrade from alpine t…

I have a btl18 in a 7.5 cube portted box tuned to 32 hz in my 1999 suburban and it's got the cooling option only, and it's D2 so .5 ohms or 2 and I have it at 2 ohms on a kicker zx1500.1. My question is what amp would push this better? And should I wire it to .5 ohms with new amp? People feed 3-4 thousand watts to their fully loaded btls but mines only got the cooling, sorry for the long post just wanted to give exact info on what I have, thanks alot!

hey guys, i need some help picking the right FI 12in Sub. I have a brand new rf T500.1BDCP (constent power) amp that puts out 810watts at one ohm. My box that i currently have is 2.8 ft3 before sub and port displacement. i need a new sub because my kicker cvr that i have know cant handle the power. if i turn it up i can smell it burning so their for i dont play it loud. anyway back to the question, which sub should i get? i see that the SSD sub is 800watts but will it be able to take 810watts of constent power and i may be a lil gain happy on the new set up i wont clip it tho. anyway i listen to alot of rap and hip nop. mostly just songs that bump. im looking for the …

So I finally got my commuter... an 04 Volvo V40. Being a sport wagon yields a decent amount of space in the rear. Taking some preliminary dimensions give me maximum external box dimensions of 35 wide x 28 deep x 18 tall, (height being semi negotiable). This gives me a internal box volume of 8.47 cu ft before speaker displacement and port volume. My goal is two 15s in a ported enclosure tuned to 30 to 32 hz. First I need to know whether any of the Fi subs would work in this size enclosure. At this point I am leaning towards the Q's but would have no problem springing for the BTL w/ high xmax option. (I would choose amps by what subs I get. AQ3500 running two Q's at…

I just recently received my n2 and have yet to hook it up mainly because my last amp (which powered two weak diamond d1s) will not be enough to feed this baby. Money is some what of a factor so extravagant amps are not exactly what I am looking for. Please leave suggestions as to what amps I should be looking into. Any advice would be appreciated.

new to the forum here and looking for some help. Im looking to get the Q 12". I have a reg cab truck so really limited on space. The max dimensions i want to go are 48L x 14H x 7BD x 4 TD so my max volume is 1.345ft3 MAX. This means i will need to invert mount it between my seats. (ive done this with an alpine type r 10") want to get a 12" tho now. I am running an alpine MRX-M100 with 4awg power and ground. 130amp alt and stock battery. Should i make the sealed enclose slanted as stated with the dimensions above? or make a rectangle box 14x48x5 (1.117ft3 before displacement of inverted sub) and have room to mount my amp on the front of the box between the seats? (done…

as far as i no this is a FI BTL 15 with PW and PC upgrade i was told this from original purchaser. but i am going to sell it, and i am getting alot of slack from people saying it might not be a BTL, on the magnet it says "BTL 15 D2 with PW PC" but when i look closely it almost looks like it said "BL 15 D2 with PW PC" and someone wrote over the BL to say BTL, now this is written in sharpie on magnet, im guessing the builder of the sub did this right? here is a pic of sub. please help me with this as i do not want to sell it as a BTL if it is not?!?! also, it has flatwound coil option, and i looked in cooling holes and there is nothing written on coil, but i can see they ar…

What is the current status of the Fi IB3-18? I've recently received (4) of them, and I'm considering purchasing more and I'm curious as to their availability. Are there production changes being made that somehow impact the IB3-18? Are there operational changes that your able to share publically? I just think you've got a great thing going, and I don't want my source for IB drivers to change in any way. Regardless, you've got a fantastic operation, and even prior to completing my HT IB build I'm really digging these drivers. Thank you and good luck

Hello everyone, I decided that I want to put a 12" Fi Q subwoofer to replace my current setup in my SUV. Here's some info that may help you help me make a decision. Vehicle: 05 Toyota 4Runner Music: Rap, Hip-Hop, House/Electro Current Setup (Since '05): Alpine CDA-9830 2 Rockford Fosgate 12" P2's pushing 400w RMS total MTX amp pushing 420w RMS Custom-made sealed box (Don't know exact measurements, but it takes up half of the trunk) Based on the vehicle I own and the music I listen to, which one should I get? For the sub box that I'm going to have someone build (I don't have the space or tools to do it), I want to go sealed, unless you guys can convince me why ported is t…

Whats up guys this is my first post on this forum. I recently ordered a 15" BL D2 with the hypercool option. My goal with this woofer is to get it to sound as good and as low as it possibly can. I have always been a SQ low end monster guy so this is the first woofer ive bought that was more geared to SPL. although through research its musicality has been well noted as well as its ability to drop low in the proper enclosure. Previous woofers ive owned tested and run into the ground; 13.5 W7 sealed/ported on a old school Zapco Studio 500 (1000rms @ 4ohms - 0.07 distortion). woofer was wired @ 3ohms... AWESOME WOOFER. 2005 15" RE XXX (xbl^2) sealed/ported on both Hifonics B…
