What is the current status of the Fi IB3-18? I've recently received (4) of them, and I'm considering purchasing more and I'm curious as to their availability. Are there production changes being made that somehow impact the IB3-18? Are there operational changes that your able to share publically? I just think you've got a great thing going, and I don't want my source for IB drivers to change in any way. Regardless, you've got a fantastic operation, and even prior to completing my HT IB build I'm really digging these drivers. Thank you and good luck

I recieved my pair of dual 1ohm Q 12"s roughly 4 months ago. I had previously been running a pair of Diamond Audio TDX 12"s and was looking to upgrade. The Q's seemed to be a good contender for this sub, so I decided to try them out. I will start by showing my appreciation for the people associated with Fi. I would like to say that the countless hours Shawn Fleming spent on the phone with me trying to find the right product that would fit my taste and goals was incredible. Also, the quick response to my email and endless questions from Scott shows his dedication to customer service and desire to create another lasting relationship with his coustomers. Thank you both for …

  3. I just finished adding a new option for the SSD and Q series subs. This new option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack for a little extra mechanical ability. All of these new features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application. Its just another way of tuning and tailoring your subs to your exact needs. For those interested in a retrofit... we can …

Hello there audio enthusiasts! I have a single FiQ 10, stock options except it has the High QTS. I am running it in a sealed box with 0.7 cuft of total volume, minus the Q's 0.12cuft of displacement. Sub Box It is powered by a Alpine MRP-M500, It is a Dual 1 Q with the voice coils in series for 2 Ohms. Ok, this sub is beautiful. I really do like it aesthetically, and it is a terrific sounding sub. My only real complaint is that I can't seem to get any real oomph out of it. I realize it is a SQ, but i have had 90$ subwoofers at a fraction of the power pound louder. When I first installed the sub and amp, I couldn't even get any noise out of it hardly until the amp's gain w…

I am trying to decide what set of 15s would be better to go with. I'm gonna be powering them with a Crescendo BC3500D. In a 1999 Mustang with a 4th order box. So, Fi BL 15 or Sundown X 15??

Ordered this bad boy on black Fiday and it's finally here! It was funny watching the UPS guy strain his back while he carried the box to the front door. After opening the box and unscrewing the top cover I was surprised by how beefy the sub was for a 12. The cone was extremely stiff to push down and the size of the magnet is huge. Unfortunately I won't be able to power the sub until the new enclosure is finished and the rest of the car is set up. Anyway here are some pics of the new toy.

A while back I burnt up the leads of my sp4 15 (and only on 2400 watts). The new FOAD leads look cool and all but after seeing a few pictures of them being torn up after daily use, I don't know how they will hold up. Maybe a psi recone would be better? Input or advice please?

  18. Can you guys build recone kits for the RE Audio SE and SEX 12 inch subs? Maybe US Amps has the recone kits, but I do not like their subs since they were not the same ever since they were sold to US Amps. I am trying to say that lightly without bashing other companies.

I used to have a pair of Kicker CXV 12s sealed in 1.2 cubes each chamber powered off my JBL GTO 1201.1 II amp (puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms) and they had a good amount of output and sounded ok but nothing spectacular. I know they would have sounded alot better with more power, like a SAZ 1500D. Which do you feel would get louder with the SAZ 1500D and the same sealed enclosure?

Hey everyone! I want to buy a new one 15" Fi BTL-N2 dual 2, fullly loadded daily version, but there is one problem. I don't know how many power woofer can handle daily. I have a amp with a lot of power and this is DD Z2lv this amp has around 8.5kW @ 1 ohm. Can this sub handle too much power? Yes, I know that I must turn gain down, but I buy this amp, because I think that better more power and than gained down than have amp with less power which clipped at maximum. I think to set my gain on amp to watch excursion. I want to know how is the durability at the maximum excursion? Can sub handle this? Please post your experiences at this power. Thanks!

Fella's, today i decided to put some volume to my FI BL 12's and noticed very quickly that the dust caps got hot. I know it has to be one of three things. Either the amp is giving too much power to the subs, The amp is clipping or the voice coils are wired incorrectly?? I never noticed this until today. Any ideas?
