  2. I am thinking about putting an FI Q 15 in a 2 cubic foot sealed box. I think that this size is on the bottom as far as recommended. Does anyone know how well the FI Q performs when it comes to small boxes like this?

Hi, Subs are 2 FI ssd 12 D2 BP Power . I know they are recomended for a 1.8 to 2.5cf box, Due to the room available I can only go up to 3.17cf after displacement and bracing with 50sqin of port. tuned to 33.5hz? Do they perform well in smaller than recomended enclosures? will be running about 2.5krms to them Thanks

Have any of you used an SSD 10 for home subwoofer use and does it work well. I have a high quality 2 channel stereo system at home and use a subwoofer to fill in the bottom end. My present sub has an RE Audio SR10 dual 2 ohm driver and a 500 watt rms amplifier. I am wondering if I would get an improvement by using a Fi SSD 10 dual 2 ohm driver. It would be used in a sealed enclosure to get best quality bass and be the high QTS version. Any opinions would be welcome. I am a bit confused about cabinet size as I keep seeing different optimum box sizes quoted, ideally I would like to know what the HQTS actually is so that I can model it in WIN ISD. I assume all other T&S …

  5. I've been into stereos for 19 years and for the past 10 years have been waiting for this settup again. I was hitting in the 150s in 1991. A friend and BASS buddy passed away tragically 3 years ago. Since then I've really stepped it up looking for the same settup we both had back in 1990. He used 4 18" Lanzars and I had 4 18" punch. We both had Orion 2250SX's running our systems. The black beast I'm sure most of you knew that. I really want do duplicate this system for Kelly Boy and have many great memories of him including many in Daytona. Now when me and my friends get together at SBN every year we always get to talk about him together. Don't mean to get anyone do…

  15. ive spent about 4 hours trying to figure out how ohms work. i feel like im the only one that gets confused on this subject. apparently is simple. someone help. im going to get a btl 18 inch but im not sure if i need to get a dual 1 or dual 2. i want to run a Hifonics amp thats at least 2000w. but if someone could tell me what the ohms have to be on the amp for me to get. or if someone could suggest a Hifonics amp for me. that would be greatly appreciated. on another subject...... what are some decent quality speakers that go with this? (6.5 inch speakers) or just tell me some good companies to buy from

I have a fi q 12. I didnt choose the high qts option because i had planned for a ported box, but ported is wayy to big for my little trunk lol Would it matter if i put the sub, without the high qts, in a sealed box? If it matters, im going to put it in the smallest bOx possible. I dont plan on running the sub to the max, just some extra bass for daily driving. Also, i hate rattling, so you can bet i wont run it any where near max output.

I bought a fi q 12 last year. I bought it with the intention to put it in a ported box. I have a genesis, the box is wayy to big for my trunk. I kept the sub in my garage until now. im planning on making the smallest sealed box possible for the sub, which i beleive is .8 . I selected a whole bunch of options, cant remember which ones though. Are there any options on the fi website that says the sub would have to be exclusivly for ported boxes? I know they have the high qts option, for sealed boxes. Im not too good with all these subwoofer terms, lol. I just want to know if i can put the sub in a sealed box without worrying im going to mess the sub up.

Hello, i want to build a box for (2) FI Q 15s, here is the size of the area i have too work with WIDTH = 32 INCHES HEIGHT = 18 INCHES DEPTH = 29 INCHES I will be able to add height to the box if I shorten the depth for a sealed box i can use the cutout sheet that FI recommended at 2.5 c.f., i'll just build two seperate boxes then just bolt them together. now for a ported box i have no idea what volume or what to tune it to??? i listen to metal, rock, country, blues, everything inbetween, but i don't listen to rap. FI specs for a ported box is 2.8 - 4 cu. ft. and use 12-16 sq. inches of vent area per cubic ft. of volume. i would like a box that would not be too boomy, i lik…

so im looking to build a new box for the blow through in my truck. trying to think of some new designs to make it interesting. is there any benefit to having the subs angle towards eachother? i was thinking having them facing eachother down the center with plexi on each end so you can see the inside. thoughts?

I'm just curious, what in the heck is the cause of my Fi SSD 15" terminals on basket to melt? I've think It's killed my amp - A kicker ZX1000.1 with little warning. I had everything wired correctly and it's been bumping flawlessly for several months when last week I noticed my amp was off. I started looking over all my wiring starting from the hood, to the amp, to the sub. When I pulled my sub out I noticed on one side of the coil the positive and negative, well rather the positive melted towards the negitive post and caused a short. Im just curious as to what caused this? I'm still running a stock alt in the car and I know the kicker amp drawed alot of power to whe…

  25. hello im building a sealed box for 2 q15 subs in my 1996 honda civic hatchback, i have a few questions? 1.... should i have each sub in seperate chambers or the same chamber? what is the pros and cons of doing either? 2.... what kind of difference in sound should there be between the largest recommended size encloser and somewhere inbetween? and whats the pros and cons of each? 3.... what kind of effect would there be having the subs down facing?
