Do you need big power to make the BL series subs play at their best? Will they play low and deep on 1,000 watts?

I need to get my box done before my subs get here. So I need to know how deep to cut so the subs will be flush mounted. Does anyone have that info or have a bl to check for me. Thanks

  4. Hey all, I've got two 12" SSD's coming in the next few days and I decided to get a headstart on building my box. I've raped the search tool and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If anyone has some spare time and wouldn't mind doing a fellow enthusiast a HUGE favor, it wouldn't go unnoticed. I'm hoping to get a cutsheet for 2 12" SSD's (ported) for my 2008 Mazda 6 sedan. Here's the preferred specifications. W: 42" (MAX) H: 16" (MAX) D1: 21" preferred D2: 16" preferred Tuned from 30-33hz I'm thinking it'd be cool to have the subs forward-firing at an angle with the seats. Then I could just mount my amp on the trunk side. The angle would take much more advantage o…

Im considering eithet a 15" or an 18" Fi BL. I have an alpine mrd-m1005 amplifier (approx. 1100 watts rms @ 2 ohms). I want to stick this thing in a ported enclosure in the trunk of my cutlass, facing backwards. What would be the absolutely optimal enclosure size for these applications (both sub sizes)?

Hey i have a fi q 15 dual 2 and i have it in a ported box about 3.25 cubes tuned to 33hz and i wanna try to make a 4th order bass reflex box but i havent the slightest idea how to make one. i know its more math but i havent found a how to go on how to make the and which formulas to use to calculate the box sizes and ports. Im pretty good at car audio but i just need to get pointed in the right driection on how to make it. A local car audio installer whos a wizard with boxes is trying to teach me how to make one but he is just too busy right now to help me with my box.

I originally bought a FI Q 12" dual 1 hoping to run it with a JL 1000.1v2 so I didn't really think much or care if it was dual 1 or dual 2. Unfortunately for my plan the 1000.1 would not of fit due to space restraints where I planned to mount it in my car. I instead went with a Sundown Audio SAX 1200Dv2 running the 12" Q @2ohm with ~700 watts. I find that the bass is adequate but when I look at the cone I can tell the excursion is not what it could be since im running it underpowered. Im wondering if I should sell the dual 1 I currently own and instead buy a dual 2 and run it at ~1200. What amount of DB sound difference would I be looking at? How much am I losing out exac…

Looking to purchase 15" ssd d1 and it will be powered by a soundstream ref1.1000 (1000watts@2ohm). Have always wanted to do a single 15 sealed. So question is; should my enclosure be closer to 2 cuft or 3 cuft. I listen to mainly, metal, rap and techno. Any input on what size enclosure will work best for my music preferences would be greatly appreciated. Thnx. Mark Oh yeah, car is a 2001 VW Jetta. If that matters. Cheers

Alright, I have a MTX Thunder 2150 and MTX 7000 12 in sealed pre-fab as a temporary setup in my 08 extended cab Sierra. Signal is off stock Bose HU rear driver speaker on a LOC. Needless to say I want a bit more oomph along w/ a my passenger seat back. Also, I believe I'm getting a full signal there but if someone knows otherwise please let me know. So I am willing to give up my rear center seat space, and am looking to do a small box behind the center console rather than downfiring under a seat. I am thinking a FI SSD 10 combined w/ a used MMATS, or possibly a new American Bass amp around 1000 to 1250 rms (and yes, I'll consider a used Sundown). Want to keep it US made b…

I'm currently a college student majoring in Electrical Engineering. A few years back, I competed in roughly about two MECA competitions as a hobby. The experience was great, but short lived. With my new schedule, I'm able to juggle classes and a job. With that said, I've decided to go back into competing so that I can have something "fun" to do outside of studying hard during the week. I'm specifically looking to compete for SPL in MECA. What I buy from Fi will strictly be based off of the new point system for MECA. There are several classes, and I'd either like to compete in either Street 1 or Street 2. Street 3 is simply above my budget as a current college student. The…

Forum, I have a SUV and my setup is 2 BL 12's in a shared chamber ported enclosure tuned at 33hz. I was wondering would the subs sound better facing forward or to the rear of my SUV tailgate? The subs and port are on the same baffle. Right now i have them facing forward and it sounds really good but just wondering am i losing out on that chest pounding bass if they are facing the rear?

I have an Older 12" Q thats blown. I''ve finally decided to get it reconed but I want to build a ported box for it too. I see the the diagrams and cut sheets for the new Q, but i'm not sure if that will work for older model Q. It's also unfortunate that the cut sheets for that one are a tad too large for my trunk. I have a maximum of 30W 15H 18D, but depth can vary a bit. i was hoping on building the box during the time it takes to get my Q reconed. That should give me enough time to learn how to design a ported box. I have no idea on how to calculate port length and all that jazz. Thanks.

I have a 99 accord. I have a stock battery with a stock 90amp alt. I have big three upgrade. I have a fully loaded 12 QD2 and an 1800.1 audiopipe amp. I was wondering if my 4 gauge knukonceptz kolossus fleks amp kit would suffice for this amount of power. I am going to be running it at 1 ohm. I would appreciate the help.

Just would like some info on how to tune my box correctly. I see these "port calculators" all over the Internet and wonder if they're even reliable.. I'm looking on making a slot port about 12.5"high x 4"wide. The dimensions of the box are 35" wide, 14" high, 20" depth. (outside dimensions). Thanks in advance

If someone could show me a cut sheet for 2 12" Fi BL's it'd be perfect. I took a look at the single 12" cut sheet but I would like one for 2, just so I'm sure on the demensions and what not. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to building enclosure's so help would be appreciated!

Has anyone used the IB3 series subwoofers, specifically the 18" in a home audio open baffle application? If so, what were the results and how much eq was needed, if any? If ordered new, does anyone recommend any modifications during manufacturing that would improve OB performance? Thank you!
