Just ordered a Q 12" 2ohm with cooling and spider option. This will be my first car audio setup so I am super excited. I know I want to go ported but I'm not sure if it should be firing toward the rear or firing up. It will be going in a 2000 Eclipse. Thoughts? I've been looking at amps. Thinking 1500W-1700W. I've read a lot of good things about Sundown amps. Was looking at the SAZ-1500D V.2 Then I came across the HiFonics BRE1600.1D and BRZ1700.1D both are priced at $200. Seems like a good deal vs. the $525 for the Sundown. Anyone have any experience with HiFonics amps? Are they any good or should I just save a little longer and go with Sundown? I'm really a noob to …

I'm about to recone my N2s, as well as changing the size of the basket. Shipping is over $160 to Fi and back and that's a real bank breaker for a poor guy like myself. How easy is it to change the basket on the N2s, and is it easy enough to recone a sub by an average joe?

I am using them for hometheater and hooking them up to a behringer ep2500----its 2 channels @ 2ohm per channel @ 1200w. thanks email is [email protected] I think its supposed to be....... terminal 1....positive to amp--- terminal 2....neg to amp--- jumper between left over neg and pos........ Is this correct???? thanks

I took the plunge and bout a BL 12 with Cooling, Flatwind, and Internal Leads. It will be powered with a MB Quart MB Quart Q1.1500D giving it 1500w RMS @ 1ohm. I now need to design a box that will fit in my trunk. The cutout that they have listed on the forum might work in my trunk but I would like to design one myself. I was thinking somewhere between the 2-2.5cuft (after sub and port displacement) and a slotted port tuned to 32Hz. It seems that every online calculator gives different results or has a cuft value that is crazy high. I was wondering what the actual formulas are for finding port length given the port area and desired port tuning? and any other formulas /…

So I just recently ordered a fully loaded Fi Q 15" and now I need to decide on an amplifier. I'm thinking either a Hifonics HFi2000D or a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D. I will be running them at 1 ohm. Do you think 2400 watts rms is too much for a fully loaded Q? I think it should be okay, but I would like to hear some other opinions.

was looking at ordering a Fi Q and saw this as a new option, are the leads between the spiders not standard on these subs anymore?

Does anyone know what the F3 for a pair of X 10's sealed in 1cft will be? Will be at 800~900 wrms for the pair. I listen to metal-hard rock, with the occasional techno/hiphop just for show off. Trying to save some space and these woofers call for some tiny sealed numbers so I think this is the way to go.

I was looking into the hifonics amps for price reasons. Looking for an amp around or under 200. I was thinking about the hifonics brz1200.1D. Opinions? This is just going to be a daily driver build with one BL12. Any help is apreciated. And just for kicks, the car is a 1987 Suzuki samurai.

I am thinking of using a single IB318 IB in my trunk. My trunk space is 14.2^3ft. The vas of the driver is 381l which is nearly the same volume as my trunk. Is the IB318 too big for my trunk to run IB? I have read that the overall volume of the trunk space should be three times the vas of the driver(s) in an IB setup.

Fella's, I am running 2 BL 12's in a ported 4.23 cubic ft enclosure tuned at 33hz. Is this enclosure large enough for the BL subs? The enclosure is 1" thick all sides, braced inside 1" thick and has a 2" front baffle so i know its strong enough.

Alright, I have a MTX Thunder 2150 and MTX 7000 12 in sealed pre-fab as a temporary setup in my 08 extended cab Sierra. Signal is off stock Bose HU rear driver speaker on a LOC. Needless to say I want a bit more oomph along w/ a my passenger seat back. Also, I believe I'm getting a full signal there but if someone knows otherwise please let me know. So I am willing to give up my rear center seat space, and am looking to do a small box behind the center console rather than downfiring under a seat. I am thinking a FI SSD 10 combined w/ a used MMATS, or possibly a new American Bass amp around 1000 to 1250 rms (and yes, I'll consider a used Sundown). Want to keep it US made b…

I have experience with a ported 12" BTL (2500RMS amp) last year. and a ported 12" BL (1500RMS amp) before that. Figured I'd save up a do 2x15" Q's with options in a sealed enclosure. Would a 2500RMS amp be enough, or would they require more power than that since the drivers will be fighting vacuum? Recommended size per sub is 2.0-2.6sqft. Goal is to slam the lows, should I aim for a smaller or larger enclosure. Also, what's recommended for dual drivers, separate or shared internal space?

Hey guys!!! So I am currently running a box built from Dave the box guy. Its 2.5 cubes after displacement, tuned at 35 hz. I have a the ssd with flatwound and bp power, a 2010 model. Anyway, I LOVE the way this thing sounds. But I got to thinking.. I know that Fi Recommends the max ported box space to be 2.5 cubes, and thats what I run. But I am still a novice, and got curious about mechanical handling... Would running this at 1000 watts rms daily (MB Quart ONX 1500.D amp) be okay to do? Cuz thats what I am running, with the amp tuned as well. Just wanted to make sure that may check out okay, or do I need to reduce my amps tuning? Thanks guys! -Chance

I think I'm gonna add another sub soonish and am hunting for an amp. My budget will be around $150 and was thinking 500 watts total. I'm going sealed. I have ~160 watts on this one now and it gets loud which is why I was gonna add another with a little more power each. Or would I be better off just getting a bigger amp on the one I have. My budget may go up some just depends on the amp. Definitely not over $200. I have 4ga wire running and will need to put an amp on fronts. I have a 4 channel now running entire system. My car is a 2011 Honda civic systems in Sig. If I'm a noob and you have questions just ask

So is a 3.9^3 box too big for a single Btl N2 12" on a Saz-2500? I know that the spec sheets say 1.75-2.5 cubed. It was professionally designed and the person who designed it says that it still falls within the thermal/mechanical specs for this sub, so they dont understand why i am questioning its size. I don't want to damage the sub with over excursion though, so any input would be great. Thanks!

I just recently bought 2 FI BL 12's fully loaded with 4 inch voice coils. I have 2 questions for the forum if you guys can please help with me. First i am running a Rockford Fosgate 2500-1bdcp on the and since the subs are dual 1 ohm is this enough power for them? Second, the enclosure i had built for them is 4.23 cubic feet after everything and tuned to 33 hz. Will they sound good in this enclosure or should i have made it bigger? The amp puts out 3,526 watts total. Thanks in advance.

I've been looking for T/S perams for the FI BTL 18. Searching to no avail I need some help. The reason I need the numbers is to plug them into Termpak so I can design an enclosure for a forum buddy. Any help would be very much appreciated. I need the following: fs (in hz) Qts Vas (in cu.ft.) Xmax (in inches) znom (depends on coil config. I am aware) Pe (rms watts) Spl (in db @ 1w/1m)
