Hey guys, Finally ordered my Q, 15" w Cooling+Spider... so pumped! but now I have a dilemma I have ported box that is built to the specs of 3ft. cubed @33hz, but wanted to know if I will hear any audible difference by going to a 3.5cube @33hz? Is it worth it for the Q? Goals are just to have the loudest setup given my amp (1500d sundown), sub, and trunk space Just wanna know what, if anything, i would be missing out by keeping the box at 3 cubes thanks

hey guys heres the deal, i finally got my ported box completed and installed the D2 15" BL, hooked up the amp (aq1200d) to 1 ohm, saw that my fuse is blown so i had to use my friends to see if everything was working.. the amp was showing power, and hooked up a capacitor just to see and it was getting the proper volts, but NO response from the sub, no movement at all. We were soo confussed, everything looked properly installed. just wondering if anyone has any ideas! Please help, i appreciate any given. I miss the bass also how do i properly tune my amp, and where do i put the knob angled at on the subsonic, i need it set about 30 hz which is 2 under the box tuning, but t…

Reconing my 15's to 18's. Plan on using 6 spoke 18" baskets, linear roll spiders, not set on cones and possibly a coil with a slightly bigger WW. Any possible issues I might see? Suggestions comments?

Hey guys I got a 93 Grand Caravan and two Fi Q 18's With BP packages commin hopefully next week Im finalizing some ideas on a box and wanted some input. It gonna be subs firing up port along bottom out back. Im aiming for S.Q.L, i figure it will be loud regardless I'm not trying to put up huge numbers i want it to be very deep and clear thats all So im thinking Height = 26.5" Width = 47" Depth = 39" All in 3/4"MDF / im doubling the top sheet where the woofers are going. According to the RE Box calculator which i dont know how accurate it is it tells me Internal Displacement = 16.068 CuFt Before Sub (0.24CuFt x 2),minor Bracing( maybe .4CuFt) and After Port Displacement.…

Does Fi offer a recone kit that would fit on a MA Audio 1800XL? If not, who would? The recone kit would have to include a new basket.

I was plan of buying 4 Fi BL series 15's. I needed to know how much RMS wattage could the speakers really take. I am going with the flatwind voicecoil, with the cooling option, and the daily driver. I already have an amp in mind that puts out 4kw. If the speakers can take a little more I will looking into maybe a 5kw amp. I do plan to use a bass processor in line with the amp. I am open to any suggestions.

  7. I got a 93 740il, i want to mount the subs on the rear deck and do a blow threw... dimensions of the trunk are - width 3', height 1.5', and there is a difference of 6.5" from top depth to bottom depth being the top is less, the port thru the rear seat can be a max height of 1.5' and is set at 1.1' without cutting any leather seat and width of 10", i have allot of room to play with the depth in the trunk well over 3' in the least deep spot, i tried using re's box calculator but it didn't help that much. thanks.

  8. Hey guys Im going to build a new box for my 18" Q. I have 6.7cu. ft. before disp. and port.. which I know is small, which is why I need to use aero's. Right now I have 4x 4"x10" aero ports. can someone give me recommendations. Do I need to get 6" ports?? I know for port area that 2 of these 4" aero's isnt enough, but I think if I go to 3, mine are to short... Can I use the flares, and use PVC pipe to make them longer??

My enclosure specs are 36 wide 18 tall and 30 deep. According to the12volt.com this should be a lil over 9ft³. I want a 33 Hz tuned port I'm still undicided between 4 by 16.5inch port with a 11 inch length or 5 by 16.5 inch with 14 inch length. I'm more in question about the lengths. Are they accurate?

So I'll be running my SSA Zcon 12" on 3k for now until I get around to purchasing a recone for an sp4 motor I got in a trade. My problem is..I have a trunk car and limitations on box sizes. Depth and height are a problem for me. I have come to the conclusion that the biggest I can fit is an L port enclosure about 3.9-4 cubes. If I give it about 4 inches of port and still have net, will this enclosure server well to the sp4? I'll be running 3k @ the sp4. If not recommend what you all have experimented with.

What is the cut hole Dia for 15" Q ? How much diameter using round port will be needed - minimum and maximum ? How much more power handling the sub gets with flat wind coil …

  16. I'm looking to redo my wall for my BTL 18s. I'm currently using a Cactus 5kw, running it at .7. My electrical consists of a 200amp alt, XS d3400 under the hood and a d3100 in the trunk. I'll be adding a second d3100 during the rebuild of the wall. How big would you guys go for the amount of power I'm using? My current wall is 14 cubes (after displacement), 35hz tune, with 192" of port. The design was bad, hence why I'm redoing it. It's only doing a 151.5 at the headrest with the passenger door wide open. The way I have the port and subs I'm having some phase issues and I think I can get much louder then I am. This is just for daily driving with some competing on the side…

  19. Might be a dumb question but whatever I'm very new in box design and I did search but it wasn't easy describing this in a search. I have a box now THE's set up for 1 12" FI BTL tuned to 32hz mounted in my tunk facing the rear of my trunk. Box cu ft now with 1 sub counting displacment and vent is 3.75. I was thinking of installing a second one on the oppisite side of the box firing inside the cabin.... My question is: Will the sub work correctly and sound good this way? With a second sub including displacemnt the cu ft. would by 3.57 so according to specs thats slightly above the low end size for 2 FI BTL's correct? Any suggestions I would appreciate that help thanks gu…

I just designed my box and came and up with 12.37 sq inches of port per cube is that a little low? What does more sq inches of port per cube do? I also came up with about 4.03 cubes per sub before displacment I want to do a little larger what does everyone I think? My dimensions I used are 23width x 34height x 49 length. they will be in an 05 f150 with two kicker zx1500. 1 amps powering them for now will upgrade power. I know they give generall recomendations of 3-5 cubes per sub and 12-16 sq inches of port per cube. What is everyone else running? and what should I tune to? I did 27 hz my amps lowest is 25 hz and the way I understood what fi said was 2 above your amps lo…

Im running a single sundown 1500saz for now, but might get a second in the future. My vehicle is an ex. cab S10 that I can fit roughly 7-7.5 cube ported box in. Im wanting the most SPL out of my setup and I am comparing 2 15" SSD's against a single 18" BTL. I know my 1 amp wont push the BTL to its limits, but it should do very well with the SSD's. My question is will I get the loudest results running the Sundown at 0.5 ohm (18-1900 watts) with 2 15" SSD's or a single BTL 18?? thanks in advance! Cody
