Just wondering, because after measuring the space available in my small hatchback with the rear seats out, this is whats available to fit a box in. Was planning to make a box of about 8ft^ net after port and driver displacement, but just asking Have anyone tried something similar? This is for daily music playing, low(ish) power - about 2kw in a nowall setup in a very small hatchback. BTL N2 18" fully loaded is ordered and paid for, just sitting here and waiting for it to arrive. Been a month now

What are they since there not posted on your website? Actually, none of the parameters for any of the BTL's are posted on your website?

  7. I've been into stereos for 19 years and for the past 10 years have been waiting for this settup again. I was hitting in the 150s in 1991. A friend and BASS buddy passed away tragically 3 years ago. Since then I've really stepped it up looking for the same settup we both had back in 1990. He used 4 18" Lanzars and I had 4 18" punch. We both had Orion 2250SX's running our systems. The black beast I'm sure most of you knew that. I really want do duplicate this system for Kelly Boy and have many great memories of him including many in Daytona. Now when me and my friends get together at SBN every year we always get to talk about him together. Don't mean to get anyone do…

Ok I am new and have been reading the forums for a few hours, and I can not find any specific questions on this topic. I want to know what these certain specs mean. Sub OD: 18.500” | 18.500” Cut ID: 16.750” | 16.750” Displacement: 0.18cuft | 0.18cuft also when it says Dual 1 ohm that means dual voice coil with 2000w RMS at 1 ohms and when it says dual 2 ohm that means dual voice coil with 2000w RMS at 2 ohm?

I just installed my new Fi Q12 today, and it sounds fantastic for the most part. But there are a few frequencies that are causing a loud rattling/popping noise. It's in a sealed box, I'm 100% certain I'm not clipping it, or overpowering it. Lower frequencies don't cause the noise, just higher ones around 100 hz I'd guess. The noise only happens at mid to high volume. It sounds like the noise is coming from directly behind the dustcap. Is the problem a loose dustcap? Any input is appreciated.

  11. I've been thinking lately, and have recently become curious if I could fi two Fi Sp4 15's in my trunk of my Cruze. I already have 1 in there, but my question would be if I could should I make it a sealed box or take my rear deck speakers out and have areo ports going through there? Just thoughts, or even do a port in the middle. The max deminsions are 17" height 35" wide and 25 or 27" depth not 100% sure. Just would like some thoughts on this. I love my sp4 and if this car wasn't so new I'd have a wall of four of them by now lol..but if I am missing anything for you guys to help me out let me know and I'll make it presentable. Thank you everyone!

  12. I finally picked up the pre cut pieces of the box I designed using the RE enclosure calculator, but I would like to verify which port length will be ideal for tuning the 2.0 Cubic ft. box between 30-33 HZ? I know the RE calculator is not really accurate so, here's my box measurements: Width = 23" Depth = 15" Height = 15" Volume = 2.0 Cubic ft. Port width = 1.5" Here's the pic of the box. The length of the port inside the L shape port is what I would like to verify. Now, should I go with 12" or 5" port length? The default RE calculator gave me a tuning freq of 33 HZ using 5" port lenth but it is not accurate. I'll be building the box sometime this weekend so before I put…

  14. Hello. I recently ordered a Q model 12". After about a 2 month wait I finally received it. First off the packaging was damaged when it arrived, the foam on the bottom had broken and the sub was slightly sideways in the box. I ignored this because I figured the sub was probably fine, it didnt appear to be too sideways in the box. I had the sub installed today in a 1.7 cu. ft. sealed box, and I must say I am very disappointed. It literally seems as if there is almost no output coming out of the sub (running at 2 ohms on a Sundown Audio 2500, so about 1200 watts RMS amp). I understand it needs to break in, but I mean that the volume is literally almost on off it seems. Also,…

I am buying a 3hp motor from TC sounds, I would like to know if FI can recone it. If so, what are my options or what can I recone it to? I know/think that the 12 spoke baskets FI sells will fit this motor, so I am definatly ordering one of those. But, which recon kit should I go with, I want to recone to a 15" and I would like DVC 1 ohm coils, I will be running this 15" off a Kicker Kx 2500.1 at 2 ohms, so what options will I need on the recone kit for the hybrid sub to handle 2500 watts? I know I want the daily option and whatever its going to take to handle my amp as far as the coils go. I really would like a BL recone kit, not interested in the BTL but if its cheaper t…

Ok. So i recently bought some BNIB SP4 from a local IAK member. Nice subs look great coils check out everything is all gravy with that. I have been out of audio a bit the last couple years and haven't been on here much. So I look up some things on the sp4's and I keep seeing articles of them catching fire. I had a Bl about 6 years ago catch fire, but I was a bit younger and was clipping the shit out of it. I keep reading and reading and most say it is user end failure. Also my specific sp4's have the spider spacer, and I go to the Fi website and they no longer offer that option. So with that being said, why is that option no longer available? Should I be concerned about…

I dont understand, its almost as if the system has gotten quieter... I mean If I put my hand to the window, i can feel the air pushing on it hard, but the bag just vibrates like a mother fudgeer...doesnt move... I am always looking to be loud(its why i went with an 18) and although im bumping it up to another BL, id like to suceed with 1 for now. Any advice? Bigger Box? Different tuning?

I ordered a mild Built FI audio BL 15 last month. It showed up last night. Unfortunately it has a big chip out of the top magnet. I want to run this inverted so now this is throwing that idea all off. The Sub was packaged very well from them and the box sustained no damage anywhere during shipping. Must have slipped past FI Audio on the way out the door. I know it probably isn't going to hurt anything but for looks sake it's really bugging me. Its there a Rubber boot or something that I could cover the two magnets with so it doesn't stand out so much? I see some other sub brands have these boot's or covers. Here's a pic. It's kind of crappy but the Magnet was jack…

its right at about 4 cu.ft if I can add some volume when I actually start fitting I am shooting for 4.2 cu.ft.. Not including the port and speaker displacement. Port 4 3/8" x 11 1/4" x 23" long @ ~32hz The fron is angled so it will fit to the seat area and I can seal the cabin from the trunk. I am going to make a custom seat that has a large rectangle hole cut off out of the center and have it foamed and upholstered to match the lower part of the seat. Thanks foir looking
