I have a 15" fi. I got it used. Idk if it's a bl or q. How do I tell?

Ok so I have an Fi BTL. And my car is a hyundai tiburon. The sub is 15 inches. Right now it is in a box i built for my old 15 inch type R. The box is not made of MDF it is made of particle board. The box is 2.83 cubes and it is tuned to about 34hz. I am Building a new box tonight which will be made out of mdf, dimensions will be height=16.5 width=36 depth=15.5 with a 3 inch port and tned to 34hz. it will give me 3.56cubes. Do you think I will notice an actual differnce in sound from this?

i bought 2 12" Bl's from a guy here in chicago for cheap....i really did want the Bl's at first but after thinkin about it, i want somethin thats got good sound quality and solid, pounding bass as well. i know the Bl's pound pretty hard and are basicly designed for spl but are they okay in sq? i have never really heard what a q sounds like in comparison to the bl. im not a stickler for amazing sound quality, but i want something thats kind of clear but can still scare people when they hear it and have some flex. my final system isnt going in until next summer so i have time to "decide". of course after i buy the Bl's i ask this question. and if any of that doesnt make se…

Been away from car audio for a bit and was curious what some others thought about this..... I found a pre-fab box that is made for higher output subs and seems to match up with the requirements for the BTL15. Here's the stats for it. Hello to my friends in the audio world... As the title states... i was wondering what would get louder.. four 15'' fi q on 3000 watts or four 15''fi ssd on same said power...it would be in the same enclousure and same port freq....30 hz there about... i guess what i am really asking is...would the Qs get louder thant the ssd even with 750 watts to each....thanks for help in advance

Can anyone recommend one? I purchased a dual 2 ohm Fi BL 15 and my current amp does not have a subsonic filter (which the install guy says will be needed to best tune the system). Some of the amps on the SSA website don't tell me what load they are stable at in Mono.

I am going to be ordering a 10" BL and was wondering which to get? Should I go with the dual 1 or 2 ohm? I plan on running it off the saz-1000d. If I get the 1 ohm, that would bring it down to .35 ohm, but with the rise, shouldn't that bring it back to almost 1 ohm? Just wondering as the amp reports that it is only 1 ohm stable. or would it be better to go with a Mmats 2100.2 and get the 1 ohm and wire them in series? this isn't something I need ASAP, but any ideas would greatly help the process. Or... another option is to go with the dual 1 ohm wired in series and go with the saz-2000d. Ideas?

I'm running an SSD10 in a ~.8cuft sealed box with 400W from a PDX. I'm mostly satisfied but it seems to lack the very bottom end...just doesn't have any oomph and sounds like response rolls of pretty sharp. I only notice it once in a while on certain tracks where I expect to get a low hit. I've had this sub for a couple of years but I swear the enclosure specs used to call for a larger enclosure compared to the .2-.6 I see now. That's why I'm in the bigger box. Can this thing really perform well in .3-.4cuft?

do you think it would be fine for a 15 fully loaded btl to handle 2 sae 1200 on each coil at 1 ohm i did this with a solo x 12 before it hit hard

Ok i wanna take a go at the blow throu deal. Can anyon help me ? I need tips. Do i make my port the blow throu part or just make the box and set port infront of it. Wat are some ways to make the box weather proof. How should i make the blow throu on the bottom or standing up? Thanks

I see a ton of pretty designs floating around was wondering what people were using. I Googled it but they all "calculate" various specs and I'm looking for a drawing program? Photoshop seems a little excessive for this. Wanted to draw something up and have you all take a look before I get all my pieces cut but the sub hasn't shipped out yet so I've got some time. Thanks!

Just a quick question, I planning on buying a 12" Q w/BP and I need to build an enclosure, going sealed. With dimensions of 19w 13h 11d, do I need to add int bracing? I was thinking just a strip of 2x2 along the top, back, and bottom. If it doesn't need bracing I can just make the box a little smaller to give the same volume Thanks, Chris

Ordered a fi btl 15" fully loaded have a hifonics brz2400.1d I know not the greatest of amps but too much or too little for that sub I know everyone saying the can take more than 2000rms but how much?

ok so I have an old style 18" BTL w/ pchamf, hixmax coil, and 3rd mag.. i want to upgrade and have 2 18" BTLs but as you know they do not offer those options any more and Fi will not make me one with those options, already spoke to them.. if I buy a new style BTL with the newer motor and put it in the same box with my current BTL would that be ok? how will it sound if any one has done it ? and will i damage my sub? hey guys... i am trying to find out the T/S Parameters of the Copper Coil Option. i was looking at the Fi site and thought it was weird that the BL rating was so low when compared to so many other drivers. would a very low BL rating not be ideal for Porting? i was considering doing a PR or Porting the box, but i was told by the guys at AE Speakers that a low BL # leads him to believe that it is not a good candidate for porting or a PR. does anyone have decent experience in porting the copper coil SSD and what results have you had?

Hey guys i have a 2009 silverado crew cab. i asked a few weeks ago how to get more bass out of my truck a few of you guys suggested raising my seats to accomadate larger subs and enclosure. that being said i raised my seats 4 inches. i now 3.8 cubes before any displacments. my questions are im looking for the best spl but i dont think ill have enough space for two 12 btls if i port the box. the box is 55 inches long and a port is gonna take too much space. the subs will be firing down into fatmat so i dont think im gonna hear much "music" out of them. any suggestions? thanks

(1) sp4 18 vs (2) bl 15's Going to be run most likely by a hifonics Brutus 2400.1 amp with custom box. Will be used as a daily driver and I listen to mostly rap I'm just curious to hear some input. It's going to be in a Toyota camry so a closed trunk if that makes any difference to anyone. Thanks

Im thinking about trying to put 4 BL 15s in a 2000 maxima, Do you guys think its possible to fit them in the trunk and only the trunk?

Just being curious, about how nice would 4 15's, either BTL or BL, sound being funneled through a cut through in the bed of a truck going into the cab. Would the rear seats ruin a lot of the air being moved? Or will stuff still fly????

Hello everyone, I'm still trying to decide whether to buy one or two FI 15 BTLs. I will be buying each sub with: dual 2 Ohm, cooling package, HiXmCoil, I heat ring, and will be set for daily. For each sub, I was planning on either running a Hifonics BRZ3000.1D Pro with 3,000 watts RMS @ 1 Ohm, or a Memphis MC1.4000 Mojo which has 4,000 watts RMS @ 1 Ohm. Will the FI BTL 15 be able to handle 4,000 watts? or will the 3,000 watt amp be a better choice? Money is not an issue, and I'm going to do the Big 3 under the hood.
