so Im trying something new with my truck, I have an ext cab s-10 with a hole in the back...a big one... I can fit 2 12'ss, have about 8 cubes to work with(preferably a little less), and 3000 watts of power. I really want to give fi a try after having some trouble with my previous subs. Im lost as to which to go for the BL SSD or the Q, all seem to be a good choice to me for my application. Im going to go ported for sure, around 35hz. First in foremost i want loud music, It doesnt have to be the most accurate, but i dont want it to sound like a fart iether. So, can you guys help feed my addiction?

says they're rated at 1000rms im getting 2 18" BLs d1s with cooling options, could they handle 1600rms a peice? my box is built its 8.5 cubes (before sub displacement) tuned to 35hz

Hi all, one of my friend just bought a new 18"ssd with Flat wind and Bp power. he wanted to achieve maximum spl with minimum power so a bigger sub was chosen. Now, he has a blaupunkt vpa1500pro amplifier which puts out 950 Rms @ 2ohms and 1500@ 1 ohms. As the sub is dual 1ohms, he will be wiring it at 2ohms for a clean 950rms output. Now the problem starts, the car boot is limited to 4.5cufeet of space at maximum, the idea was to go for a ported box but as recommended by FI on this forum first few topics, atleast 6cufeet is needed for a SSD . And that's true due to its lesser powerful motor compared to Btl's or SMD's which can be used in 4.5 cufeet ported boxes. Roun…

Well my issue here is a i just picked up a fi btl n2 (came in today) and i'm going to start building the box for it soon. i recently found out to quite a bit of dissapointment, that my rockford fosgate t2500-1bdCP doesn't have a variable subsonic filter, but rather a cheesy switched one. I know i need to tune my amp 2-3 hertz below my enclsoures PTF, but what if my enclosure ends up being out of range or the amplifiers tuning controls? I have the following system... '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2 18" Fi BLs 2 Rockford Fosgate T10001's 1 Rockford Fosgate p500-2 1 Pair Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5" components 1 Pair Alpine Type R Coaxial 6.5" Lots of Lightning Audio Wire Alpine CDA-7897 Head Unit + 6 Disk Changer 225 amp Excessive Amperage alternator Box tuned to about 34 hz My question is, I cannot for the life of me get my subs to play the same. They are phase, wired with 8 gauge, and the polarity is correct (as long as the subs are labeled correctly). I have the amps set for master/slave, set to give each sub 1400 watts. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

I was wondering what would be the best enclosure to make these subs get super loud, but not lose very much SQ? the max dimensions i can use are 58" (W) x 31" (H) x 38" (L), But that's max ( i don't plan on making a box that big unless that's what will be the best. Can you please give some dimensions or an estimate, and also what you think would be the best frequency to tune it to? thank you

Hey guys, I think i'm going to be purchasing a Q12. I have reservations that I have the space for an adequete box though. I have a 2002 BMW 325i. Here are a few pics of the way my backseat/trunk is (borrowed from a bimmer forum): and i was hoping to have it look something like this when it was complete: As you can see the setup is geared towards a show car, but I do actually drive the car around quite a bit, so sound quality is a concern of mine. How practical would something like that setup be for sound quality? SPL doens't matter as much for me. Thanks

i don't really want to take up the whole back window up i did some measurements and i can do a box that's 52.5W x 24.5H x 16.5 deep. externally that's 12.28 Cuft 10.18 cuft internal. After displacements of the 2 18's and 3 6 inch aeroports that are 12 inches long each it gives it an internal volume of 9.083. will this be enough for 2 18's for bass racing the 140-149.9 class? i am ordering 4 Sundown 1500's when jacob gets the new ones in. i plan on strapping at 1.4 so each amp will see .7. i also will have 6 optima group 31 yellow top batteries.

Hi, i'm Patrick from Germany and i just ordered a Fi BTL 15 with Cooling and HiXM Coil for daily driver. The BTL replaces my old RE SX 15 wich i operated in a aprox. 4,7 cubes box, tuned to 35 Hz.... My problem now is that i don't know how to build a enclosure for the BTL because i usually calculated everything with Win ISD but this doesnt work with the btls TSP'S... Can you help me or say what i have to build. Max dimentions are: width: 93 cm or 36,61 inch height: 45 cm or 17.72 inch depth: more than 100cm or 40 inch I'm running it with a RF T20001bd and kinetik batts.. Looking at the BTL SPL vs Daily Option.. I would like to use a pair of 15"s mainly for SPL competitions, BUT i would like to squeeze JUST a song or two out of them every once in a while.. They are not to be used as daily play subs.. my question is, would i be able to get away with playing music for a short while with them, with the SPL option, or would i be better off using taking the daily option instead.. thanks

thinking about running a second battery in the trunk. i was told there are two ways of doing this. 1, using a isolator and 2, running the + from the front battery all the way to the second battery and then ground out the negitive. are these both true? what should i do?

Can a pair of Fi Q15's be ported and tuned to 30hz in a properly sized enclosure, if my max external dimensions are 22" (d) x 19" (h) x 38.5" (w)? Less height and depth if possible... I was planning on running them sealed, since I know they have great lowend sealed, but if I can still have great lows with more output, I want to got for that. This is for a Dodge Magnum. My goal is to have the most output while maintaining a somewhat flat response, with the gut twisting lowend.

You guys must be busy...I sent a few emails and all I get is a message saying something about email delays...o well I guess I will have to wait a couple more weeks to knwo when my subs will be shipped back to me.

Alright first off sorry for so many topics about all the subs. Im just in the process of deciding and im all over the place lol. But i think i have narrowed it down to either 1 12" Bl with BP Power and Flatwind Coil or 1 15" Q with BP Power. Both will be ported. I will use the US Amps MD 1D (underrated 1200w @ 1 ohm). I drive a 2004 Ford F-150 and will be taking out one of my back seats so i have about 7cuft to work with. As of now i am leaning towards the Q because it is about $70 cheaper and because i also listen to not only rap but country alot... Just want to hear some thoughts and opinions. Thanks

I have a 15" Soundsplinter RL-p thats in need of a recone. Sub works fine, just the cone is starting to seperate from the surround. Tryed CA glue and it worked well for a while, but its coming lose again. I was wondering if a recone was possible for this sub. BTW, I sent a email to Nick a few weeks ago, but didnt get a response, so I decided to make this thread to possible get a solution. Thanks.

I'm about to recone my N2s, as well as changing the size of the basket. Shipping is over $160 to Fi and back and that's a real bank breaker for a poor guy like myself. How easy is it to change the basket on the N2s, and is it easy enough to recone a sub by an average joe?

So after selling my Avalanche, i put my 2 13kv.2's back in my car. This is when i realize how amazingly low the avalanche gets. I am almost set on purchasing a 15" BL to replace the avalanche, but i just want to be sure that i will not be dissapointed with the low frequencies. I know it will get loud, but hell my 13kv's matched my avalanche at certain frequencies too. (BL will be on 1200 watts in 3.5 @30hz if it matters much) Anyone with experience with an avalanche as well as a BL (or other Fi sub, i assume they are a bit similar) please give me some input. I want to be absolutely positive that the BL will be $300 well spent. thanks.

I've had my Q12 for about 2 weeks now. It's been playing very nicely and hitting hard. But last night while driving around it started to cut out. It would hit a few notes and then stop. A few seconds later it would pick back up for a while. It's a D2 woofer connected to a Cadence TXA1000D amp 1ohm. It's wired in parallel. I turned down the gains and reset the settings to zero and tried to retune it. Now it seems like it isn't getting any power to the sub...I checked all the wire connections...seem to be fine. I'm lost and kinda worried that my 2 week old sub is fried... =[ Please help...

I got a pair of Q15's yesterday. I put them in the box which is 3.5 cubes tuned to 28hz and they sounded different then anything else ive ever heard. As much as everyone praises the low-end ability of the Q it seemed to me that the higher notes(40-60hz) sounded louder. The low notes made a popping sound that sounded like it might be hurting the speaker. I called someone who runs the ssd series and he said he had the same problem. He told me to tune them to 32hz and it would fix it but the whole reason i wanted the Qs is to hit lows. I am planning a new home theatre to replace my mirage system for my new house. The room is 15x19 with 9' ceilings, and there are large openings into the dining room and it is open to the front door entrance and hallway. This will be used for about 75% HT/TV and 25% music. I am going to switch to a pioneer elite vsx-23txh with 3 elemental designs A6-6T6-MTMs as my FL, FR, and C channels, and probably some A3-5Ts for the RL and RR.
