Fella's, I am running 2 BL 12's in a ported 4.23 cubic ft enclosure tuned at 33hz. Is this enclosure large enough for the BL subs? The enclosure is 1" thick all sides, braced inside 1" thick and has a 2" front baffle so i know its strong enough.

placed an order this weekend for a 12" BL that will be running off of a hifonics 1606. i've drawn out plans for a box thats 2.33@33hz w/33 sq. in. of port area (haha). will the hifonics be enough to push the sub? i can go bigger on the box to let it use the power a bit more efficiently, but whats your guys' opinions on this? anyone w/experience as to exactly how much power the hifonics is capable of putting out?

  3. i don't really want to take up the whole back window up i did some measurements and i can do a box that's 52.5W x 24.5H x 16.5 deep. externally that's 12.28 Cuft 10.18 cuft internal. After displacements of the 2 18's and 3 6 inch aeroports that are 12 inches long each it gives it an internal volume of 9.083. will this be enough for 2 18's for bass racing the 140-149.9 class? i am ordering 4 Sundown 1500's when jacob gets the new ones in. i plan on strapping at 1.4 so each amp will see .7. i also will have 6 optima group 31 yellow top batteries.

Hey, I've been looking at Fi car audio for a while to help fix my BMW's horrible lack of bass. I was originally looking at the 12" Q but after reading around I decided that the BL would better suit my needs, I now am at this problem I know my trunk can fit the optimum box dimensions for the 10" and 12" but I dont really want to sacrifice all that space but then I want it to also to be hitting pretty hard. Also whats a good amp recommendation for the best price/performance

  7. I am getting one 10" Fi SSD sub-woofer very soon and I am having a bit of trouble on what to do for the enclosure. I drive a small, 1998 Ford Pickup, single cab. I am convinced, and determined, that it is possible to put a sub in any vehicle, but there really is very limited space back there to put anything. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions? I am looking for the best sound I can get, but I understand if it won't be optimal. Getting the materials and building it will be no problem, just need to know how to tackle this.

This is my original plan and am wanting to make sure this is my best option for Loud and clean bass. I was used to running 1 Audioque 15" ported at 29hz in 7.5cu ft box off of 1400w, it was ungodly! Current setup - 1 Audioque 15" Sealed in 2.2 cu ft off of 1400w. It is a little less loud in the low frequency area due to a lot lower group delay as well but like how it sounds as well. Anyways, my current project is to have 3 12" Qs off of 3 optidrive 2000ds. Each q would be wired to 0.35ohms all in a common chamber sealed box roughly 2-2.4cu ft stuffed with polyfill (emailed fi about this to see what they say bout the polyfill). Now, these amps are rated at doind 1,600w at…

I just finished building my box last night.... Double baffle,Fiberglass,etc... My box after bracing and before the Port was 8.25cuft(internal)I have 119 sqin of port tuned to 30hz. After the displacement of the port I now have 5.85cuft. Now is my box 8cuft tuned to 30hz OR is it 5.85cuft tuned to 30hz??? And would that be too small for an 18?? thanks

I'm in need of some help on a box build. I'm planning on getting 1(one) fully loaded FI BL 12" dual 2ohm. I would like to know what size and type of port to use, I would like a slot port (not sure what its called) tuned at the recommended 32 hz. If some one could get me some ideas on the size of port to use and that sort of stuff(i have no clue how to make a good port). I have a 3d cad package (SolidWorks 2007) to were I can design it my self I just have no clue what size and type of port to use, or how to use it. The set up is going in a Chevy Cavalier 2 door (rear seat does fold down, not sure if its relivent) and the amp I'm using is a Power Acoustik BAMF 2000/D (r…

How do these dimensions look for my Fi Q12 d1 Box outside diameter after using 3/4" MDF: Box: 33.5 x 14.5 x 12 Port: 1.5 x 13 x 16.5 This should give me 2.53 ft3 (before taking away sub/port displacement) and be tuned to ~32 Hz. I have been using website like the12volt.com and a couple others. I tried the RE enclosure app, but I think it is a little off. Not too sure. I appreciate any help! If this box looks off, what would be better? Thanks.

I have one SSD10 D2 with copper coils in a sealed box with about 600 watts rms coming from a Phoenix Gold Ti600.2 I know going ported will give me more output but i'd really like to stay with the sealed box I have because it fits perfect in the truck. So, i've been looking into getting a 1000 watt amp like a Sundown 1000 or Alpine PDX 1000. Would this upgrade be worth it or should I stick with what I have?

Finally got my hands back on some straight street jam material. AKA: Qs and a BTL UFO I've seen some UFO BTLs have a spacer in between basket and the motor. Is this just an adapter for basket patterns or is it a beneficial option to the sub? Excited for my new Fi experience and so is the wife =]

I have a 07 Tahoe and 2 BL dual 1 ohm 18s on a hifonics BXi 2010. I was looking to add 2 more 18 BLs in a 18cu. ft. ported box tuned to 32Hz. I also wanted to upgrade my amps to 2 RF T2500-BDs strapped at 2ohms. My question is will this be too much power for the subs? They are fully loaded for daily use. Please help. Thanx.

  22. Hey finally making some progress and decided to get the Q instead of BTL which will be here on the 3rd. Just wondering whats a good amp to power it at around 1000w-1500w at a 2ohm load. Also what are some good .5ohm stable amps out there and about how many watts would I be looking at running it at .5 instead of 2ohm Plan on going with around a 3cu ported box tuned at around 32hz to go in a 03 honda civic coupe. (If this information helps)
