I have 2 15s btl. 1 is dual 1 ohm, measured 1.5ohm on each coil.(working) both 2 magnet motor. 2nd is d2 , measured 2.5 ohm. (blown) d1 sub, the pole is black color , i think that means its universal. d2 sub blown, doesnt have black colored pole. Question is can i recone d2 with 1 ohm recone kit to match my other btl, and will they have same specs? plz help me out.

currently i have a 12" BL in a 2.5 cuft enclosure tuned to 32hz. it is being powered by a "1600" watt hifonics amp (soon to be a sundown saz-1500d). i LOVE how the sub takes on the task of playing songs such as hypnotize, white girl, etc... however when i slap in a cd of something other than rap... there is little bass, if any at all. would changing what my enclosure is tuned to give more response on kickdrums and the like? what i am looking for is something in between the notes in rap and the notes from kickdrums,etc... from other genres. thanks in advance for any all and suggestions

I was wondering if I can run my friend's Fi Q in my box that is 4.5 cu ft tuned 32? It has BP option, and I would be running about 1000 watts to it. Would the sub be fine as long as I am responsible?

I just recieved my Q12 D2 and am now shopping for an amp. I'm looking at the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd. This amp sends 1000w X 1 @ 1ohm or 250w X 1 @ 4ohms. I can run my Q12 in series and have a 4 ohm or parallel and have a 1 ohm. If I run this parallel, one of two things will happen, I don't know which, my understanding of electronics is limited, obviously. Either each voice coil will see 1000 watts, meaning 2000w are being run through the sub or each voice coil will see 500w, meaning 1000w are being run through the sub. If I run it in series, will each voice coil see 250w, meaning the sub sees 500w or will each voice coil see 125w, meaning the sub will s…

I recently hooked up 2 Fi BL 10's to a pdx 1.1000 connected to the battery by 4 gauge wire. Within ten minutes of playing i had blown the fuse coming from the battery to the amp. I was wondering if attempting to run this setup off 4 gauge wiring is hindering the ability of the system and if it would be beneficial to up the wire to a 0 gauge. Thanks in advance for the help The fuse was a 10GA stinger fuse, switched to a 25A raptor ANL fuse & holder after burning the fuse. I switched because the stinger fuses were too spendy.

Started on my box today for a single Fi Q 15" (still haven't ordered it yet though...). I just had to order from Fi as after reading tons of reviews and talking to a few people, I have heard nothing but great things, whether it be the great quality, customer service, and pricing. Anyway the box is sealed (thought I'd make my first build a little easier on myself...). The Q's should do well in both sealed and ported enclosures, correct? I double layered the top to make it 1.5" thick. The inside dimensions of the box are 11.75" tall x 20.5" wide x 20.5" deep. Total is 2.86ft.^3. Subtract the sub displacement from that and the grand total is 2.67ft.^3. The .7 (almost a 1" cu…

Just would like some info on how to tune my box correctly. I see these "port calculators" all over the Internet and wonder if they're even reliable.. I'm looking on making a slot port about 12.5"high x 4"wide. The dimensions of the box are 35" wide, 14" high, 20" depth. (outside dimensions). Thanks in advance

Hey, i recently built a box for my 2 Fi X 12's, it is a ported wedge box 4.37 cuft after port and sub displacements. I have a 4 inch ,"precision port", flare port and is 6 inches deep. The problem is that the sub closer to the port moves more and im thinking that i could get more out of the subs if they both had the same movement. A little confused.. i was told that it would be louder if i would have divided the box and but two separate ports, one on each side rather than one on the passenger side. By the way i have them on a Autotek MM1000.1D

Was wondering if those cut sheets are still optimum to today's Fi Q12?? I'm purchasing one at the end of this month and would like to build the box while I wait for delivery. Going for a ported enclosure but for fun was gonna build a sealed too and check them both out. Thinking of getting the sub fully loaded with every feature just cause I can and run it on a Q1-1200D from Soundqubed at 1ohm producing 1200watts. It will be in a 2005 jimmy 2 door so room is not a factor. I listen to all types of music and would love clear crisp bass but also able to bump it when I feel like it. I know there is no magic box that gives me both SQ and SPL just want good sounds on musical mu…

I've seen where eveyone says speaker terminals suck, so whats the best one to use? And if its bolt terminal, do i just put a hole in the mdf and put a 3/8" bolt through it? How do i hook the wires to it on each side? I realize this is probably about as noob as it gets too, but i mentioned big 3 to one of the big 'audio' shops around here, and they looked at me like i was an idiot for thinking there was such a thing (i'm saying this just to show you i have noone to learn from in the local area haha). Thanks

Just wondering... Does the Hixm coil has better efficiency in comparison with the standard BTL coil? What are the pros and cons when using the first in SPL /power handling/output? Is there any signifficant difference in the subs sensitivity? A few days i have watched some tests on some new quad stacked motor subs and i wondered if it would make any difference if the coils were put a little higher than they originaly ought to be put (like 4-5 windings were out of the motor top instead of putting all the coil in the magnet gap)

i currently have 2 12" Fi Q's in a monochambered enclosure tuned to 32hz for maximum SQ but no amps from what people have told me (2x) sundown sae-1000d should be perfect but my question is... if both subs run 1000 rms each, would it be better running (2x) 1000 watt amps or (2x) 1500 watt amps??????????? also, which amps would be ideal if money wasnt an issue? preferably brand name and specific model. thanks a MILLION!!! Right now i currently have 2 boxes around 5.4 cubes per box @ 34 hz. I know i really could get the BL's to slam the lows alot louder if i got around 7 cubes per sub. SO with that being said im going to make 1 ported box*walled* and tryn get my max dimensions. I was going to get crazy and fiberglass all the nukes and cranny's but im really not the best with just winging it and figuring out port lengths and cubes when its not a regular rectangle. On to my question... Do you find the Sq. inches for port area before or after all the displacements. EX. I have 15 cubes to work with total 45x34.5x20 external dimensions for 2 18" BL's Do i multiply 16(rule of thumb) sq inches x 1…
