Hello, I'm planning on building my first system and I am wondering what specifications I should get on my FI 15'' BTL. I want to get it to 1 ohm, so would I go with dual 1 or dual 2? I am going to buy an AudioQue 2200D, it is 1 ohm stable. I am going to do the Big 3 once I buy a new HO alternator. Any tips and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well I just recently bought a Q and since I was eager to listen to it, I put it inside the only box I had. The current box is a sealed box with about .9 ft^3 after displacement. Since its on the smaller side I threw some polyfill in the box as well. Now I want to build a ported box and I honestly have no clue as to where begin. I read through several pages, and found some plans but they don't suit my needs. I also searched online for calculators and only came across the RE calculator. I don't know how accurate it is but it kind of gave me an idea how port length affects tuning frequency. I'm a little tight on space and have a maximum of 30"w x 16"h x 16"d. Matter…

So heres the deal: I bought 2 12 X's A few months back during the clearance, and I put them in a horrible prefab ported box with circle ports and after about 2 days, a blown out side panel. Supposed to get 1.6-2.2 cuft in a ported box, I think theyre getting 1 each. It sounds decent I guess, but if I get it past about 1/3 volume, I get the worse port noise I've ever heard. I just got back from Home Depot, and I bought a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 MDF. I'm planning on starting the construction of my new box tomorrow. I've decided on sealed, because to be honest, theres about 0 chance of me successfully building a ported box. Here are the stats for the X series 12's: Sealed box: .9-…

So I know these Fi speakers can take a beating, but I had my 18" SSD playing for maybe an hour at pretty high volume with some really heavy bass and I noticed a burning smell coming from it. The dustcap was pretty warm. I know its the voice coils, but I play at the same volume all the time and have never had this problem. Is it just because of the extended usage ? I know its not good when it happens. I'm running it off an Onkyo HT-S3100 5.1 receiver. I don't think its clipping, as the receiver would shut off. The sub is fine when not played for extended periods though. Should I be worried ?

What can a SSD take on a burp which is normally 3 secs at most... I am looking to run a pair of Saz-1500d's strapped on my ssds and would like to know how many watts can they take on a burp.... I was thinking probably 1600 watts per sub but would like to know before hand..

I read the recommendations for each speaker, but still have a few questions. First, I'm going to be ordering a dual 2ohm fully loaded 15BTL, Its going to be for daily with roughly 2500rms to it. My question is, is going fully loaded the right choice? Or will some of the options hurt the power handling instead of help it? For instance the universal option because of the gap size? thanks for the help

I notice that on the Fi website that u have options that u can add to your sub before purchase. What does these options mean? Flatwind coil? Copper Coil? and BP Power? Can i purchase this sub without this stuff. If i dont then how will the sub perform in daily uses? Oh yea, is there a big difference in hard hitting bass with the SSD 15 and the Q 15? Thanks.

Does anyone own a 94-97 Honda Accord Sedan? And if so, do you have a 15'' BTL Sub? If by any chance you do, could you tell me how you made the box for your sub? 5 cf is a lot of space, and my trunk is big but I dont know if its possible or not while still keeping the back 2 seats in... Thanks, -Curt

I'm looking at a BTL15, because I've heard good things. But until I get enough, I would probably be running 1 Sundown 1500d on the BTL15. If I got it optioned out, would it be able to handle a pair of strapped 1500d's? How much can a optioned daily driver BTL handle?

  14. I'm only going to be running around 700 - 1100 watts rms to the sub when playing music. Probally no more than 10 min sessions. And the sub will probally move no more than 3/8 of an inch in excursion each way. Will I have any problems with this small amonunt of excursion?

I am buying a 3hp motor from TC sounds, I would like to know if FI can recone it. If so, what are my options or what can I recone it to? I know/think that the 12 spoke baskets FI sells will fit this motor, so I am definatly ordering one of those. But, which recon kit should I go with, I want to recone to a 15" and I would like DVC 1 ohm coils, I will be running this 15" off a Kicker Kx 2500.1 at 2 ohms, so what options will I need on the recone kit for the hybrid sub to handle 2500 watts? I know I want the daily option and whatever its going to take to handle my amp as far as the coils go. I really would like a BL recone kit, not interested in the BTL but if its cheaper t…

I have an old e12k "blue e cone" DVC 2 ohm, I am hoping I can recone it, its still working and sounds good butI want to renew it I guess, I read somewhere that these were made by RE, so I was hoping I could get an FI recone kit and do it. If this is possible, what could I recone it to? Would the recone kit basicly change the sub into an FI like sub? Or would I need to have a new motor for that? Anybody have any info?

Here is my problem. For quite some time I planned on putting 4 15" BTL's in the bed of my truck, forward facing. I have a fiberglass lid, not a camper shell, so no wall. I know they need to be ported, at least I want them to be. Is there anyway to put the 4 15's in there or will I have to go to either 3 15's or 4 12's. Out of those two, which will be louder and hit harder. I was thinkin the 12's, esp in the box is right. I will be correctly powering each sub, so power is not the issue here. So, what do you think bout my situation and any ideas??????? THANKS

  22. I've been thinking lately, and have recently become curious if I could fi two Fi Sp4 15's in my trunk of my Cruze. I already have 1 in there, but my question would be if I could should I make it a sealed box or take my rear deck speakers out and have areo ports going through there? Just thoughts, or even do a port in the middle. The max deminsions are 17" height 35" wide and 25 or 27" depth not 100% sure. Just would like some thoughts on this. I love my sp4 and if this car wasn't so new I'd have a wall of four of them by now lol..but if I am missing anything for you guys to help me out let me know and I'll make it presentable. Thank you everyone!
