I'm going atleast a 7cuft box tuned to somewhat 30-35hzt range. I'm building my own box and the subs aren't here yet. According to UPS the subs weigh in at 54lbs each. I'm simply asking if i should double baffle the box?

11 cubic for 2 Q 18's. i want to retain the 33hz volume as much as possible but i absolutely want to reach 75hz at a very good volume out of these. my idea was to go 11 cubic and put a bit of poly fill inside. it is not for certain that i will buy 2 Q's, i will know after i test my rebuild SP4 to see if i can get the volume i want out of it at the frequencies i want. im expecting i wont be able to. this would be the box design:

hey guys i was looking for someone to help me try to design a dual reflex bandpass for my 2 15's, idk if this is something that each sub would beed its own box, if so thats fine but i would like both of them to be in the same one. if this is gonig to be a bad idea just tell me and i can make a slot ported box for them. i would just going to try something new. hoping to have them tuned to about 32-34hz i will be running them off a BC5500d. i have 4 yello caps, with another under the hood. i am using 4 RF power series, 2 6.5's in the front and 2 6x9's in the back running off a rf T8004. big 3 done with fat mat everywhere. planning on using MDF with a lot of fiberglass on th…

Power is a non issue since I'm now using two Crescendo 3.5ks. If this is possible please let me know. Looking to order the subs this week.

Hi everyone. I've been reading up on Fi Car Audio and in particular the Q series of subwoofers. I really can't wait to start getting my cash together for one of these bad boys. However I have a small knowledge base problem. I don't understand the exact effect of a larger box volume for a subwoofer. In particular I've read that the recommended box size for a sealed Q 15 is 2 - 2.6 cuft. Now, would the subwoofer get louder if the size was 2.6cuft vs 2cuft? There is more air to be moved in a 2.6 vs a 2 correct? But if this is true then would there be any other effects of having a larger box beside the obvious space consumption in the trunk? Bonus question: I listen to a lot …

Im soon to be getting 1 15" ssd but i just have a few questions on what i should do to elctrical to make it sound the best it could without spending alot of money at all (under 150$). it will probably be going in a ported box about 3.1 after all displacements at 32-33hz. Now my car is a 1995 saturn sl2. stock alternator and wiring. battery is over a year old. would just replacing all wiring in my car to 0 guage do the trick or would i have to go alot further. 0 guage on big 3 then on power and ground also. I would also like to know if my US amps XT2000D would be good to power it. thanks.

Need help with deciding on building enclosure for (2) 15" FI BTL. Going for ~36hz This is the amount of room i would like to use: Width = 36" (Max width due to wheel.) Height = 24" Depth = 22" Would be sound better if the sub face up or sub face back. Also the same question apply to the port. All of this is going inside a SUV. What are your recommendation for the port? If the above measurement are small, please give me some recommendation. I would like to keep the box small but also sound good.

Hi, need some blueprints for my 15 inch fi btl fully loaded. it is feeded with aprox. 3 kw. the enclosure is used for spl competitions only, perhabs a flared port is the better choice. The woofer is going in a 1990 volkswagen golf mk2 and the car peaks at 52-55 hz. I'm of course ready to pay for the blueprint. The max width is 37 inch, feel free to the rest, it doesnt matter. Please email or pm me or just post in here Patrick :-)

I am on the verge building an 8 cube sealed box for a Fi Q18 which I will be buying in the next 2 weeks. I was set on everything until I came across one question. Do I need to have a 1 inch baffle? I plan on double baffle flush mounting. I was going to build is all from 3/4" MDF with a lot of internal bracing. No polyfill since I am maxing out the dimensions. My dimensions are: W:40" D:21" H:21" (will fit nicely in the spot of the room i picked ) Besides the baffle question, does anyone see any problems with my plans?

I've done a few builds in the past, but have yet to use your products. I work for a very large cabinet manufacturer in Minnesota and have a high level of skill when it comes to wood fabrication. It's been 5+ years since my last build and I am a bit rusty. Needless to say, I don't trust my calculations and I am hoping someone can look-over these to let me know their thoughts on the dimensions/specs for these particular subs. This build will be for (2) BL-12's each in their own enclosure (with both enclosures attached together @ the ports). Below is my dimensions/specs. If this is in the wrong section of the forum, I apologize. If a moderator can move this to the proper…

I have always done sealed boxes before and I ordered a 10 inch dual 2 ohm bl and am struggling with the port dimensions. Different programs I use come up with different numbers. The recommended dimensions are 1.2 cuft with 15 inches of port. I am assuming thats 15 square inches. I have the room for width of 16 inches wide by 13 inches tall and 19 inches deep outside dimensions. Which according to my calculations using 3/4 inch wood is 1.97 cuft. But I only need 1.2 cuft. The 13 inches is the most important measurement. I don't want to go higher or lower than that. The depth of 19 inches is what I want to shrink the most and I only want to go 15 inches wide at the n…
