Hi, I found another thread where FI can recone a 3hp to a 18" for me, I found the price. I'm just curious as to what soft parts would be used to recone(as in what lines it would come from) or what parts in general(how many spiders etc, stiffness.) And do you beleive that the reconed 3hp would be good for 2500rms daily?? thanks, Joe I need the end load to be 2 ohm..so either 4 ohm dvc, or 1 ohm dvc.

Ok go easy on me fellas. For the past 4 or 5 months my Bl 18 has been in a wooden box without paint or any covering. So Saturday I decided to paint my box. So I painted the box black. Then I wanted to get creative. So I chose my colors to be black and gold. I tried to paint my dustcap but I messed up and now I need another one, but I was wondering if I could get my new dust cap in my custom color. Now this is a thread made for helping not talking down on. My sub works fine the dust cap just looks like crap. Oh yeah I already admitted my mistake and learned from it. Please offer advise and don't state the obvious.

New Fi Q15 owner here. Fresh to these forums too. I just wanted to share about my project and also had a few questions and was hoping for some feedback/opinions. Recently got my hands on BB6 pro and built a pretty bitchin' (and simple) PR setup for my buddy's Saturn ION that piqued my interest to try it again, but bigger and with more power. I used a Resonant Engineering SEx10 paired up with a TC sounds VMP12 (stock 390g mms) in a prefab 1.8cf sealed 15" box. Made a speaker ring adapter for the 12 in the 15" hole, and then cut a hole in the side of the box for the 10". We were very pleased with the amount of LF output this little bad boy has, and still being super clean …

Hello all. I have just found out about Fi yesterday. Seems like a solid product. Everywhere I read everyone has positive things to say about them. I am in the market for new audio toys in my truck. Stumbled on this website and thought id ask some of you gurus about some suggestions. Some info for you. I have a 05' Single Cab Dodge Ram 1500. I have taken down some measurements of what the enclosure "could" be up to. I would like if possible a slight wedge box so I can still lean my passenger seat back a little. This is what I came up with. Length of box from side to side = 38" Height of box = 18" Bottom width = 11" Top width = 8" Ive done this calulation on Fosgates box …

I just got my bl's today and had my local shop make a box . The dimension's are 4.5 cuft 43=wide 19=deep 15=height port is 4=wide 12=height and he said its tuned to 32 htz. does that sound right? I am currently running a kicker zx 1500.1 to them, my question is, do i need to let them break in or can i pound on them? I know im way under power, but im not sure.Any and all replies are greatly appreciated.

Hey, I'm wiring a 2ohm DVC Fi Q to a Sundown Audio SAX-1200D. Being a monoblock amp I don't know how to wire this properly. I've checked quiet a few of the websites with wiring diagrams but none of them are showing how to hook up to an amp with double connections ++ -- All they show are mono or multiple channel configurations. Currently the sub is wired following this diagram http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_2-ohm_mono.jpg Looking directly at the side of the amp with speaker connections, brackets = [wire] [+] + [-] - I think with the way I have it wired that it's running @ 4ohm. The goal is 1ohm.…

Hello, This is my first time building a box. I would like to hear any thoughts you might have before I get to building. I just recently purchased 2x FI Q 12's dual 1's with cooling, and spider. I designed a box for a 2002 gmc envoy. These subs will be pushed by a Crescendo BC2000D. (May eventually upgrade to a 3500 or 2x 2000's). Box is 5.0 cu ft and is tuned around 32hz. Heres what I came up with. My main concern is if I did the port length correctly and if I calculated the bracing displacement correctly.

Hey, this is my first post here at the SSA forum (oh whoopee ).... My question (YES, QUESTION!) concerns the tuning and enclosure sizing for the Fi Q18 D2! Firstly, I'm not too sure about the relationship between enclosure volume and tuning frequency. I did see the enclosure sticky, but am tuning differently than the sticky shows and am also not sure if the size stays the same for all tunings or not...I'm thinking it changes. I plan to tune to 16hz and wondered if 30ft

Hey guys, I think i'm going to be purchasing a Q12. I have reservations that I have the space for an adequete box though. I have a 2002 BMW 325i. Here are a few pics of the way my backseat/trunk is (borrowed from a bimmer forum): and i was hoping to have it look something like this when it was complete: As you can see the setup is geared towards a show car, but I do actually drive the car around quite a bit, so sound quality is a concern of mine. How practical would something like that setup be for sound quality? SPL doens't matter as much for me. Thanks

Nick can you please confirm enclosure recommendations for the new N2's and N3's. There is no notes in the pinned topics above concerning the new drivers.

I have a pair of 10" BL's and chose the SPL option when I bought them. I had no intentions of playing music with them, but now I wonder if they'll handle playing music for a short period of time. I was thinking of trying Bass Race in Db Drags next season but don't want to have to buy new subs in order to do it. Does anyone know if these subs with the SPL option will handle music for 30 seconds at a time at full power?

Without going over my windows and taking the whole back up, i have 40" D x 46" W x 22" H, which is 11.8 cubes gross, will that be enough for 2 BL 18's? It says to use 5-10 cubes each, thats a wide range, i guess depending on power to them mostly. I will be running 2 saz1500d's strapped to them. I have more room than that if needed, just want to leave a little space for batteries and amps.

I got chris at fishercustoms.com to design me box for 2 BL 18's. Its little over 18 cubes before port and sub and around 15 after, tuned to 33hz. Port is 10.5" wide. Figured i would post up design, hopefully i will have it built next couple weeks. We been workin 7 days a week, so as soon as i get a break, will get started on it.

Hi. I Just bought a FiQ12 and am waiting for it to arive. But right now I have a Clarion cz702 hu with focal polyglass 165 vb front speakrs and focal polyglass 165 cvx back speakers and a alpine pdx-f4 amp running the speakers and one memphis mojo 12 and memphis amp in the back. Im replacing the mojo with the fi. When i turn the head unit all the way to max, the speakers clip. I have the amp turned all the way down and the amp in the headunit off. I have the system set to normal right now because i dont understand the 2 way and 3 way set ups options and what all the numbers mean. I dont know what all the corss over numbers are or what i should have running through my spea…

I have a 15" Loaded BTL that is in 4cubes. The box is .75 MDF. I will rebuild the box, should I doublewall anything other than the front baffle? I will probably resin the inside of the box, as well as brace it at several places.

can anybody help me with box design? i was just gonna make a box similar to the one i have in my escape for the ssd 12's but i kinda want something a little better. i listen to every type of music from bass music to jazz to rock. so the box would have to be versitile. the twelves only have copper coil option. i need help because the space is limited. i have a huge trunk but for some reason benz decided that was also a good place for the gas tank and spare. i am thinking that the port(s) should face up through the space in the rear deck that will be cutout. i have two sets of max measurements because one way the box would have to partially cover my amp and the other way it…

Ok, since i've got the new amplifier, I was looking into the bl's a little and keep seeing all these posts about them missing out on the low end, (ie sub 35 hz). Is this true? My enclosure is tuned to 27hz at 8.18 cu ft and the Q's perform awesome in it. I want to go with the BL's because they will handle a little more power than the Q's because I'll be running a IA 40.1. How do you guys think they will perform in that enclosure tuned to those specs? If they won't handle the bottom end like the Q's, I am also looking at the AA Havocs, and I've read that they handle the low bass frequencies pretty well like he q's. Feel free to chime in with any responces. thanks

Well I am gonna be going for my first recone attempt. It will be a BTL. I am feeling pretty confident but have a couple of questions. First thing How do I properly clean all the excess stuff from the original BTL. Like the surround on the basket and where the spider is glued down at. I was told just a heat gun to get it loosen up so I can just pull it all off? Second I hear alot of people talk about the "Triple joint" and how well that is glued. What is the triple joint? Also I am confused on how to properly "shim" it. Is it that the shim alligns it properly so that it doesnt rub? If so that means the paper shim is only making like a hairline gap? And wheres the best pl…

So, I ordered 2 SSD 12's last week, (currently have 2 Pioneer 307's in a ported box I made a while back) I was just wondering how to make a decent ported box for the new subs. Car is a 97 eclipse, and the dimensions I got were (15h x 36w x 20d inches) I might be able to go .5in more on the height and depth. Would the height of the port be 13.5in? What should the length and width be? I'm using BassBox 6 Pro but when I put in the info for the port it adds to the total volume of the enclosure which for some reason makes me think it is going to come out wrong when I build it. Any help will be appreciated. I'll be powering them with a RF P1200.2 Thanks.

Can someone answer this question for me; I see that they offer a lot of upgrades, but each one will affect the parameters and driver's behavior. It would be nice if they offered updated parameters and more information on each of these upgrades. Adding mass to the assembly, then adding spiders and changing spider packs, changing coil assemblies, and materials etc, does quite a bit to affect the driver's behavior, from altering moving mass and resonant frequency, causing QES changes, and inductance variances to causing shifts in the CMS curves... All these things really affect the driver's behavior as a whole, the way it will sound, and they even affect the enclosure design…
