I am debating if I should dampen the custom box when I get my 12 fi bl 2ohm. Also what do you guys think about powering it with a PDX 1.1000 at 4ohm ~1229 rms?

I just got 2 more 15 fi btl to put in a 91 blazer. The box I am going to build will be 38" wide 31" deep and 20" tall. I want both subs facing straight up with the port also straight up. I was wondering how big I should make my port. I am looking to get around the 32 hz mark. Also I will be bracing with 1 1/4 inch wood dowels and will be using 3/4 inch mdf.

Im gonna get 2 12in BTLs and I was wondering if they could handle 3,000RMS or higher and not have to worry about it, and the sub would be a daily sub but fully loaded otherwise.

OK, i am doing a system for a friend in a 1996 lincoln town car, the equipment i am getting is 2- 18" SSD's and will be powered off a Rockford Fosgate t1500-1bd . The problem is there are hydraulics in the car so i have very limited trunk space to work with. the measurements i have taken leave me with a max of 39" wide x 24.5"length x 14.5" tall . i think this comes out to be about 6.6 cu.ft. BEFORE any displacements . I know that this is WAY UNDER THE RECOMMENDATION, but i do not have any more room to spare. it will never be metered or compete it is just for show which is why he wants the 18's but even though it's, not going to compete it still has to be LOUD. I was…

Hey, This will be my first time buying FI subs and just had a question about what I should buy. I was gonna get two 12" FI BTL's and power them with a Sundown SAZ-3500D amp when it becomes available. Under the amp specs it says: ----RMS power, 2 ohm linkable/dual mono 6000W x 1CH ----RMS power, 1 ohm mono 3500W x 1CH I'm confused as to what the difference is would I be able to get 6000W to the two subs if i got the 2ohm versions? or should I get 1ohm? If I can only get 1ohm will 3500 be enough for two of those subs or would that be very underpowered? Any recommendations on the box size and port size would be greatly appreciated as I will have it made by someone. I'm …

Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like to say to the Fi section I've done a lot reading here and searching but never really found the answer I'm looking for. I already have a Kicker sx900.2 and looking to get a single 12" SSD. From the research I found so far I've came to the conclusion that getting a SSD 12" with the copper coil option would be my best bet for the kicker? The amp would run bridged, 850 watts @ 4 ohms so would the kicker be a good match for the ssd? If not any help would be appreciated. Just trying to get some feedback before I make my purchase. This will be my first time buying a Fi sub or even listening to one for that matter. I can't wait! thanks…

My tahoe was rear ended a 2 weeks ago destroying my BL 18s. I had just purchased a RF T2500-1 and im awaiting my second. I have an Avalanche now and i want to run 3 dual 1-ohm BL 15s. My question is will the two 2500s be too much power for the BLs? Also, is there any problem wiring the subs in a "single voice coil per amp" setup, ie: 3 subs, 1 voice coil on one amp, one on the other?? Im kinda new at do-it-yourself car audio when it comes to complex wiring, so any help or advice, good or bad, is welcome.

I plan on building the enclosure per Fi's specs of 1.5 ft @33hz. The dimensions I have come up with is 14.5" x 14.5" x 18" using3/4" MDF this gives me 1.4937ft after subtracting the woofer and material displacement. I can add to the 14.5" sections of the enclosure if need be to account for port displacement. I'm not familiar with how to calculate port displacement though so I'll need some help on that as well. I planned on mounting the sub on the 14.5" X 18" side and would also prefer to have the port on that side as well. I just want to make sure that I get this right. I'm looking for maximum SQ but still want to have good output. It will be powered by 550w/rms in a PT …

for my next setup i was thinking of doing an 18" btl out of a 2002 pontiac grand prix's trunk on a sundown 3500d. it seems thats what everyone likes to pair up with the btl. this is for a daily system. and the box would probably be like 6 cubes tuned to mid 30s. is this a solid setup? how much wattage do u guys think it will actually see after impedance rise? should i just get a 2000 watt rms amp or roll with the 3500 like i was planning on? and i know this is a difficult question to answer, but does anyone have any experience of any setups like this playing out of a trunk? obviously it all depends on the install and blah blah blah, but i was figuring id make somewhere ar…

i'm powering 2 Fi Bl 12's. i would run one amp per sub. these amps run 1550 RMS at 2 Ohms. does Clarion make good amps? would you recommend these? budget is also a key factor. and i can get these amps incredibly cheap. i'd run Rockford if i could. but i cant afford it.

Hello there! So a couple months ago I reconed my 12'' fully loaded (older-model) BTL. Before, it lived in one of Pete's Team Toxic Enclosures...but due to the possibility that it may have blown because of the complexity of the enclosure...I want to design a more simple one with the same dimensions of the previous. Problem is, I do not know how to design one. The dimensions would be 20 by 30 by 14. I would like it to be tuned at 32 hz. If someone could please point me towards a thread with the same specs, or design one for me. I would be very greatful. The sooner I could have this figured out, the sooner I can build the box and install the subwoofer. Thank you. P.S. : …

I have a 07 Tahoe and 2 BL dual 1 ohm 18s on a hifonics BXi 2010. I was looking to add 2 more 18 BLs in a 18cu. ft. ported box tuned to 32Hz. I also wanted to upgrade my amps to 2 RF T2500-BDs strapped at 2ohms. My question is will this be too much power for the subs? They are fully loaded for daily use. Please help. Thanx.

Hi, need some blueprints for my 15 inch fi btl fully loaded. it is feeded with aprox. 3 kw. the enclosure is used for spl competitions only, perhabs a flared port is the better choice. The woofer is going in a 1990 volkswagen golf mk2 and the car peaks at 52-55 hz. I'm of course ready to pay for the blueprint. The max width is 37 inch, feel free to the rest, it doesnt matter. Please email or pm me or just post in here Patrick :-)

Well my mojos are starting to suck...blew a coil actually. And now its time to upgrade to BTLs I'm stuck between 2 15s or 2 18s Here is the scenario: The ports will be outside the box. I am going to use these ports... Deal Breaker for 15s: the only practical option is to use 1 of those ports for 8 cubes Fi recommends 12 - 16 square inches of port per cube 8cuft x 12 = 96 8cuft x 16 = 144 So about 96-144 sq inches recommended. that port is only 70 sq in. Would that be a problem? Deal Breaker for 18s: The only problem for the 18s (using 2 of these ports) is that the box would simply be too long to conventionally mount the ports outside the box... So to still be able to …

Well I have a sundown 1200d I will be running 1 10 or 1 12 off of. This is going in a custom fiberglass box going under the seat in a 09 ram. I have alittle more than 7" mounting depth but as of right now only about .83 cuft of volume. I'm looking to extend that to around 1.0 cu feet if possible( and if I don't get the 10"). I have set myself on a fi sub but i'm not sure if is should go 10 or 12. This will be in a sealed box. I'm looking at the ssd and q series. For the 10" i'm actually over the recommended box volume already (.6 cuft). And for the 12 i'm alittle short (.8 cuft). What are your thoughts on what I should do?
