I have 2 Konaki 12's with Incriminator Audio recones on them. Overall they sound great and hit the lows great, but the power handling is lacking. I have them both on a Crunch GP3000D-Pro which is putting out between 2500-3000 watts given my electrical right now. The amp is set correctly and the system thumps hard, but it seems like they bottom out wayyyy too easily. I play a lot of low stuff (<36hz) and when I turn it up too loud, the subs bottom out. Basically, I'm wondering if Fi would have any options to boost my power handling to 1500+ watts a piece and maybe some spiders that would stay stiff and allow me to play low frequencies at high volumes without bottoming o…

Im ordering a 15 Q soon and am going to start on my box for it. I was messing with re box calculator and having a few problems getting the right size, i have limited space in the trunk of my civic. I am going to run it ported at around 32hz and would like to get as much cubic feet as i can out of my trunk, any help would be appreciated. Box can not be wider than 34 inches, can not be taller than 16 inches, and can not be deeper than 18 inches, any help would be a appreciated. The cubic feet part is easy to me but the whole port part and how long the port should be is confusing to me. thanks Also on the re box calculator site which number do i use to figure out the 12-16 s…

this is a test box i built. okay it's 1.1cu. ft. and i had it tuned from 32-36-40-48. after trying all of these, the other box i have in the car is louder. do i not have enough port or wrong place? i don't know. at 32 hz the test box has a smoother transition. all the rest of the tunings were okay, not great. anyways my question is what size box would you guys recommend for spl and at what tuning? my car peaks at 43 hz in the old box. maybe i was expecting too much but after hearing the bl in my existing box i got all excited. just wanna try and make an spl box the one i have now is a pretty good dd. thank you in advance to everyone. btw it's a 3" port and a 1…

so this sunday, at a local comp i heard rumor that a guy was using a BTL N3 for a daly setup. I ended up seeing his name on the record board and couldnt believe it was true. The guys setup was a 18" N3 box 5 cubes tuned to 35hz, and he metered a 150.7 outlaw in a SUV. i was most impressed. I had the thought that the n3 could NOT play music daily, untill i heard his tonight. It sounded very good. i messaged nick immediately and he got back to me within a couple hours "as usual" and notified me that they can play music, BUT that him and scott believe the motor force is too great and will actually decrease SPL. so in other words you guys, the n3 can be played daily, however …

Hey guys!!! So I am currently running a box built from Dave the box guy. Its 2.5 cubes after displacement, tuned at 35 hz. I have a the ssd with flatwound and bp power, a 2010 model. Anyway, I LOVE the way this thing sounds. But I got to thinking.. I know that Fi Recommends the max ported box space to be 2.5 cubes, and thats what I run. But I am still a novice, and got curious about mechanical handling... Would running this at 1000 watts rms daily (MB Quart ONX 1500.D amp) be okay to do? Cuz thats what I am running, with the amp tuned as well. Just wanted to make sure that may check out okay, or do I need to reduce my amps tuning? Thanks guys! -Chance

Hey guys i have a couple of questions, i got a saz1500d, and i am going to be ordering a 15q, should i run the sub at 2 ohms (800watts rms) or 1 ohm (1500rms)? Right now i only have 4 ga running to the back, will that be okay if i run it at 1ohms or should i stick with 2 ohms, I am going to run the most likely sealed in a 2.5 cu ft box. i have a 09 toyota corolla, not that much trunk space, or will it sound better in a 3 cu ft box ported? If you guys have any other helpful tips please let me know. Thanks

I have a old kicker SX 1250.1 amp. its rated 1250+ at 1 ohmn. my question is what would be better for the sub and amp? 1 or 2 ohmn's? the 1 would be getting more watts so it would be louder but if i ever switch amps will that effect the 1 ohmn? the sub would be a 12in Fi BTl N1 sub, its rated at 2000rms, idk which to get 1 or 2?

Hey everyone, So i recently sold my 2 audiobahn 12'' sub woofers, and my amplifier. I have the money now to buy my 15''BTL fully loaded. I had a few questions that i am still not sure about. 1.What should my "ohms" be if im using a mono amplifier. 2.If my box is tuned to 3.25feet at 30HZ is that too little feet, and too low HZ? 3. Does anyone know a good mono amp to go with 1 fi BTL 15inch 4. Also is a BTL legit 2000RMS? i really aprciate all help, thanks everyone.

My amp is going to be a 1500d, for sure. Two SSD12s have a recommended ported volume of about 5ft^3, and a BTL15 has a recommended ported volume of about 5ft^3 as well. I understand the two 12s will move more air, which may be more impressive as far as my budget will go, and being realistic, I don't anticipate being able to buy another amp or the surrounding electrical to back it up for awhile. Anyway, I ask your advice once again. Should I go with two SSD12s or one BTL15 powered off of a 1500d running at 1 ohm? If built in their ideal boxes, which would get louder, or would it matter? What would be the pros/cons of either? Mahalo, Trevor

Good morning to all. Ok, have a build question for the forum. I'm looking to get an 18" BTL soon and was curious as to what would sound the best in regards to sub direction. Room is not an issue as I have an SUV. I'd like to take a poll and get opinions on why you chose the following: 1.Sub up to roof and port to back of vehicle 2.Sub forward to driver and port to back of vehicle 3.Sub to back of vehicle and port to back of vehicle 4.Sub forward to driver and port forward to driver 5.Sub up to roof and port up to roof I'm really looking for ground punding and earthquaking when I want the sub to perform, yet sound decent with pop music as well. I have a broad range of mus…

Hi, i've been passive for a few months right now. My last system was one 15 btl dual 2 on two RF t20001bds @ 2 ohms with few kinetiks and 300 amp alt. I think of adding another btl 15 but keep the amps, one btl strapped to 1 ohm and one t20001 @ 1 ohms per sub. Do you think this would hit harder or should i just recone the current btl to dual 1 to use the full power of the amps.... Patrick

I was wondering if the BTL or BL could be run in a sealed box. The Fi site doesnt have any dimensions for sealed boxes. If they cant be used in a sealed box, why? Is it because they just wouldnt sound good? Just wondering. Thanks guys

Hey guys it's been a while since I've posted on here and I just wanted to know what yall think. I've got a 2nd generation BTL and I'm thinking about selling it and upgrading. Which would be louder 2 BTL's or 4 X's both scenarios would be 15's? I know the more the surface area the louder but would the power make any difference in the application. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I have 2 loaded btl 12s that Im going to be running a T4k on. I want to use aero ports but the only way that I can get enough port area is to go a bigger than the recommended 2.5ft3. I may have to go with something like 2.7-2.9ft3.....is this ok for daily usage? Or will it hurt the woofer? I see on the Fi site that u shouldnt go any higher than 3ft3. Id be below that but they say 2.5ft3 on this site?

Hello all, I am wanting to purchase a bl 18, but possibly a q 18. The dimensions of the box i can make are around 16h 32.5w and 22d with the sub facing up. I have a couple of questions, first, does it sound better to have the port on the side of the box or going along the bottom? Secondly, would that be enough space, i calculated it to be around 5 cubes after speaker and port displacement. Lastly, this is going in a celica gt-s hatchback and i was wondering how much room do i need between the back of the car and the front of the box? I think with these measurements i left out like 6 inches between the two. Any help is appreciated.

  25. Hey guys, I am planning on installing a 10in Fi Q subwoofer in my 2009 BMW 128i. I have wanted to do an install in this car for quite a while but limited trunk space has kept me away until I decided to build a custom fiberglass enclosure. I plan on using an AQ1200 D amp with the Q and with that being said I am concerned with the amount of power I will be drawing from the car to power the amp and sub. Any input would be greatly appreciated as to whether or not this might pose a problem in the long run with my battery or alternator. Thanks in advance.
