11 cubic for 2 Q 18's. i want to retain the 33hz volume as much as possible but i absolutely want to reach 75hz at a very good volume out of these. my idea was to go 11 cubic and put a bit of poly fill inside. it is not for certain that i will buy 2 Q's, i will know after i test my rebuild SP4 to see if i can get the volume i want out of it at the frequencies i want. im expecting i wont be able to. this would be the box design:

Ive been looking into a sp4 18 and have a few questions, hoping to find somone on the fourms instead of flooding fi with emails atm. Would running a cresendo 3500 to a single 18 sp4 at .7 be to much? Also how many cubes should i go with with 1 18 on 3500 tuned to 32hz. I would be getting the sub with all the opitions also if that makes a differnce in power handling. Thanks guys!!

Not at the same time! I have two boxes built for my single 12BL. (D2, loaded, daily) One is 2.5cuft @ 32. Slot port. Homemade The other is 2.0cuft @ 32. Kerfed port. PTS They are both designed around the 12BL t/a parameters. Two questions. Is the BTL a substantial upgrade from the BL? Could I use the 12BTL in the same box which was designed for the 12BL?

What's the smallest you think i could go with a BL 18. I'd probably wire down to 2 ohms and get about 1100 out of my amp if i went sealed. I've got some extra wood from the real box, and i thought that i could make a box to take up only one seat for when i want to take an extra person, but still have some sound. I don't see a ported working because i couldnt make the port big enough i dont think, maybe i'm wrong. Anybody ever sealed a BL 18? I doubt too many have, but what would it sound like? (also, when i say small, max dimensions that id like to use are: 23H*17-18D*22W, which is 4.4 cu ft after wood displacement.) PS: regular box is 6 cu ft tuned to 34 hz, so please d…

Ok, well i had no idea about tuning or anything when i made my first box. its 9.5 cubic ft with 90 in of port area, and i ran the port length till about the back of the box. ( pics soon). what i was wondering is can anyone provide me with the actual formula for calculating my port length. ( so i can just plug in hz volume and port area? ive got some calculators but like to see everything out. here is what im trying to accomplish by just cutting the box. 34 hz tuning 7.5 cubic ft 90in squared of port area if i my box in a 01 grand am running from my trunk to my back seat, with the btl right in the back seat and the port under it. if i put the port in the trunk would it mak…

hey all i was taking some measure ments on my brother car(03neon) and i got the demensions of 36wide, 30 deep but only 16.7-17 inches high due to a seat belt thing...im looking for about 3.7-4 cubes, i know that i got more then enough but im wondering about the hight, im guessing 15 inch woofer pluss 2 pieces(top and bottom) of .75 mdf =16.5 inchs..that leaves .5 inches...you think that its enough high, and how do top firing subs sound and is there a difference, if there isnt enough hight i guess ill try that...thanks

I'm planning on a new system in my 1970 oldsmobile cutlass. I wanted it to include 2 btl subs with my. rockford fosgate t4000bd amp. I was wonderng if amlnyone has any sugestions on any aftrmarket alternators. I was also wondering if Im able to just add a second alternator to my car or would that increase the voltage were it would screw up the cars electrical as well as burn up the amp. -Thanx, Jack

First post guys, so please bear with me... I'm looking at a 12" Q for my sealed enclosure. Here's the thing, I've got an enclosure that's .88 cu.ft. I did the search and came up with what seems to be a optimum 1.2 to 1.3 cu. ft. Here's the question, how will this driver respond in the .88 sealed with 750w rms? Thanks guys.

i was just thinking(usually dangerous) i have an amp that is1200 @2ohms mono, 600per channel@1ohm. presently i have dvc4 woofers if i hook them up the regular way i get 4ohm or 1ohm mono. i have been reading that some people hook an amp to both voice coils so each amp i guess would see 4 ohms off each coil, right? now heres the crazy part; shouldnt i be able to take the + - off one coil on one speaker then the + - off the other put them together on one channel and get 1 ohm? then do the same for the other coils and get the same for the other channel, now all four coils are running off two channels thus giving the amp its 1ohm per channel? . is this possible or am i thin…

  19. Hi guys, got a Q15" with flat wind coil and extra spider. Now need to built a box for the same. Can only make a ported box with internal volume as maximum of 3.7 cufeet.. It will be a rectangula ported box with no bracing inside.. using 3/4" MDF Box external dim - 11.25 X 36.5 X 19" - internal volume come to be 3.7 cu feet. i still have too account sub volume displacement, port displacement and is there something left to account in? now come my queries - What is the mounting depth of Fi Q 15" ? What is the cut hole Dia for 15" Q ? How much diameter using round port will be needed - minimum and maximum ? How much more power handling the sub gets with flat wind coil …

I have 2 Konaki 12's with Incriminator Audio recones on them. Overall they sound great and hit the lows great, but the power handling is lacking. I have them both on a Crunch GP3000D-Pro which is putting out between 2500-3000 watts given my electrical right now. The amp is set correctly and the system thumps hard, but it seems like they bottom out wayyyy too easily. I play a lot of low stuff (<36hz) and when I turn it up too loud, the subs bottom out. Basically, I'm wondering if Fi would have any options to boost my power handling to 1500+ watts a piece and maybe some spiders that would stay stiff and allow me to play low frequencies at high volumes without bottoming o…

How would having an enclosure bigger than the recommended box volume affect my system. I am planning on ordering a 12" SSD w/ copper coil. I am trying to save money on this system which isn't something I'm used to since I usually go all out. I was thinking of buying an already made enclosure to cut down on costs. I'd like to know how this would affect the sub's performance. Here's the box I was looking at: http://sonicelectronix.com/item_7521_Sonic...Box-+1SA12.html Thanks!
