The trunk of my car( 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI) has opening that connects the trunk with the inside cabin of the car. I was wondering if facing the port towards this opening instead of towards the rear of the car would increase SPL or hurt it. Will the air be pushed into the cabin of the car or will it just be trapped in the trunk bouncing around on it self. I will prob end up leaving a gap of about 3" - 5" between the enclosure and the actual opening because the trunk gets narrow towards the back. Would I have to place the port directly in front of the opening or would having the port on one side of the box facing the front of the car matter? Below is a pic of …

Hello Im building a box soon for a Fi BTL N2 15, and its going in a honda accord. But im tired of thinking that all the sound is in the trunk, so i was planning on removing the backseats, and build the box so the sub and the port would point forwards. (So the sub and port would be right behind where the seatback's should have been and the box inside the trunk. (kinda like this: What do you guys think? Would i get more sound pressure in the front seats this way? Or would it be better with the sub in the trunk and maybe port up the parcel shelf? Any ideas what would give me most pressure in the frontseats? Thanks alot

A good friend of mine just recently traded his 2 12s for a Btl n2 15 and is now looking to build a box. Being the guy he is, he likes the lows. This sub may not be the most applicable for his needs but he's hoping for the best. He likes loud, and he likes low. We were both thinking about a box that is roughly around 4 cu ft using 3/4 mdf. We were also thinking on possibly doing an aero port(s) design. Although a slot port is still an option. If it helps to know, the box will be going into a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. Also it will powered by a Hifonixs Brutus brx2400. He and I would very much appreciate if anyone has any designs for this type of application and or any re…

Trying to figure out how to get the 3rd magnet option on the BTL.... I want to say I remember seeing it on their website as an option in the past --- has it become a standard? I only see the following options: Ohm configuration, p chamfer, cooling, hixm coil, daily or spl, induct heat ring, and the universal option. Thinking about getting a fully loaded BTL within the next month. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Also, looking to get the AQ3500 amp w/yellow top up front, alt upgrade, along with big 3 upgrade. I listen to a lot of chopped and screwed music, so I think this setup would be perfect. C and S music isn't clean anyway - just good bass - so i'm not …

Ok I am new and have been reading the forums for a few hours, and I can not find any specific questions on this topic. I want to know what these certain specs mean. Sub OD: 18.500” | 18.500” Cut ID: 16.750” | 16.750” Displacement: 0.18cuft | 0.18cuft also when it says Dual 1 ohm that means dual voice coil with 2000w RMS at 1 ohms and when it says dual 2 ohm that means dual voice coil with 2000w RMS at 2 ohm?

The motors on these woofers look almost identical. I know both woofers are made out of the same build house. Is there any difference in the motors? I know Xcon is more of a sound quality woofer, Im a owner, and the BTL is more of a SPL woofer. Is it the soft parts and the coil that make them sound different? Please excuse my ignorance on the subject.

Just wondering what subs would work best for a daily setup and to compete in bass boxing. Any advice would be helpfull. I'm getting new amps and waiting to get subs before i buy amps

I am planning a new home theatre to replace my mirage system for my new house. The room is 15x19 with 9' ceilings, and there are large openings into the dining room and it is open to the front door entrance and hallway. This will be used for about 75% HT/TV and 25% music. I am going to switch to a pioneer elite vsx-23txh with 3 elemental designs A6-6T6-MTMs as my FL, FR, and C channels, and probably some A3-5Ts for the RL and RR. I will be needing a sub as well and would like to make one to save some cash. I was thinking about doing an IB3 15 or 18 on an ED LT/1300. Just wondering what type of box to do, have seen them in really big sealed and ported enclosures as well a…

Has anyone used the IB3 series subwoofers, specifically the 18" in a home audio open baffle application? If so, what were the results and how much eq was needed, if any? If ordered new, does anyone recommend any modifications during manufacturing that would improve OB performance? Thank you!

I just read about this sub at audiojunkies. I've got a pair of AA Atlases running free air in my little creampuff, a 94 Olds Cutlass Cierra. I'm thinking of replacing them with these. Any thoughts? I'm running 150w to each of the Atlases, I'll be doing the same to these. http://www.audiojunkies.com/blog/866#continued Thanks
