Do you guys offer a recone kit from Fi that will fit the RE SX motor? If so, could you PM me a price please? Also, would you be willing to sell the recone + motor for a Q? Let me know!

Guys Prob havent post for over a year now, thats because I have kept all my things in the closet and lost touch about car audio while playing mafia wars LOL. My question are: i. How long does a sub magnet stays magnetize? In my place 33c-35c is considered a normal sunny day. ii. Does heat from the sun + heat from playing music will effect the magnet strength? iii. Does keeping the sub in the closet (its bare and I didnt put it in the box) will have other effects like rust, deterioration of rubber, spider getting weaker etc? Btw I own 2 15Q's which I bought back in 2007

i bought 2 12" Bl's from a guy here in chicago for cheap....i really did want the Bl's at first but after thinkin about it, i want somethin thats got good sound quality and solid, pounding bass as well. i know the Bl's pound pretty hard and are basicly designed for spl but are they okay in sq? i have never really heard what a q sounds like in comparison to the bl. im not a stickler for amazing sound quality, but i want something thats kind of clear but can still scare people when they hear it and have some flex. my final system isnt going in until next summer so i have time to "decide". of course after i buy the Bl's i ask this question. and if any of that doesnt make se…

I just added the D1 copper coils to the SSD series. Previously the copper coils were available only in D2. The addition of the copper coils to the SSD subs adds a bit more SQ in some applications. It also allows the subs to play deeper in the same sized enclosures as the standard aluminum coiled SSDs, or have the same response curves in slightly smaller enclosures. Thanks... Scott

I ordered recones for Konaki motors, if you can remember, I have the thread up in the General Fi section, anyway, I was wondering what type of spiders and coils you used in the recones construction. It looked to me like 3 spiders were used and the coils were copper flatwind. Also would like to find out what you guys would estimate the power handling (rms) of the sub would be with the soft parts you sent me. They are seeing probably 1200 watts each, which I am sure they can handle fine, I do not plan on upgrading my amp EVER, but I am wondering just out of curiosity what the rms of these things would be.

I'm looking for someone to build me the box specified in the "BTL Cut sheets" thread. I have the Fully loaded 12" (2010) model BTL sub. I would like to know how much it would cost (both for the box and shipping). And I like to find someone who has made these before and knows what they are doing. If you can show me pics of your previous work that would be great. I would prefer it if you had a PayPal account as well. If there is anything you need to know from me, let me know. Thanks for any replies.

  10. i have four btl 18s. is it safe to try to drill the terminals to make them just a little bit wider? i cant fit a full piece of 8 gauge into one terminal, i have to trim it just a little bit. and trying to fit two 8 gauge wires into one terminal i might as well just use 12 or 14 gauge because i have to trim the 8 gauge down so much its ridiculous. how bout taking either a unibit/varibit/stepbit (call it what u want), or a slightly bigger drill bit and try to make them bigger? extremely bad idea and i'm gonna end up needing to replace something because i'll break something? or be very careful and go slow and it will work? 2000 rms u would think u could fit a big ass wire …

Hello, I'm lookin at getting an 18" BL, but my major problem is that my trunk is too short to fit an 18" sub in facing the rear of the car. So I came up with a slightly angled design that would shorten it by a couple of inches. My question, however, is if the basket of the sub will hit the bottom of the box at any part, since the sub is sitting at an angle. I drew up a diagram in Paint of the exact lengths and angles. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello, there are two Fi Q10d2 and the amplifier DC 5.0K, in 0,5 Ohms, Xs power d1200+d3400 accumulators (44Ah and 65Ah). Advise the optimum volume and the port area under this system? Palaniry to begin with 48 liters pure and port in 250 squares, tune to of 36-38 Hz and reducing to have a look at changes. The car, Ford Focus 2 a hatch-back, the purpose to receive is more than figures on music. Thanks in advance for councils and comments. I am sorry for my English))

Is this too big of a "enclosure and port" for a daily. For 2 fully loaded BTL15 with a T4k ......11.1ft3 (net) with 160sq" of shared port tuned to 30hz....after sub and port displacement subtracted I got a total of 8.6ft3 which would be 4.3ft3 and 80sq" of port per sub. Is that too big?

i will be buying 3 12" q's in the future with the bp option but was wondering what VC comes in these, the site just simply says 3" 4 layer coil. is this a flat coil, or a copper coil or what, i was reading the coil options listed and it would seem to me that a copper coil would be best in this with it being a SQ orriented sub, but correct me if i am wrong. Will be running these off a Sundown 3000d on a daily set up that will see comps ocassionally wired in a series/parallel combination to right at 1 ohm. FI guys prefered on replies as i am looking at thier view point being that i know they know thier products better than no one else. no offense to anyone else there so pl…

I just ordered my 2 12's with BP power option...just for good measure. I'm gonna have a T20001bd on em. I want to port em. How do you think 1.8 cubes ported to 32Hz for each sub would sound? Do I need to push for 2 cubes? I don't have much room in my car...but here's a pic of the trunk space I have with my previous setup. That was just 2 JL 10w3v3's I'm thinking of running the boxes along the side where the old ones were. So how would 1.8 sound? Still jam the subs hard, or do I need to go for 2 cubes or even more? More than 2 would be pretty tough, but I wanna build the fiberglass boxes once...gonna be alot of work.

I had a box designed by chris at fishercustoms, and here is what he came up with: The total Net volume came out to be 1.8cu ft exactly, a 1.74" x 14" port tuned to 33hz, 13.53 sq in of port per cu ft, and I have a couple questions: 1. Is that too small for a 12" Fi Q? They do recommend a minimum of 1.8, but i'm worried this box won't make it sound good because the net volume is too small. 2. What happens if the box is too small? 3. Whats the difference between having a larger box versus a smaller box? Like having a 2.2 versus 1.8? Most of the videos I see online of this sub have a box larger than 2.2 cu ft, and their car is basically falling apart. Any help would be gr…

Hey guys, bottom line is i have designed a few enclosures and they sucked. I'm not so bad on the building part, just the calculating port length and area and volume and stuff. I have a 15Q and was wondering if someone could design me a box of around i dunno 3-4cubes tuned to like 30-33hz. My trunk limits the box to be like 16-16.5 inches tall (otherwise it won't slide in) and uhh yeah thats the only real limitation. Thanks in advance.

I have the basics for this box already, but I need to know if I need any bracing (if so, what kind) or any other tweaking. Also the sub is facing up, does it matter where I place the sub? (closest to the port opening or furthest away) Box is 24x30x15.5 Port Width is 3.9" Volume a little under 4^3 (after displacement) Tuned a bit above 30hz Thanks

What's the smallest you think i could go with a BL 18. I'd probably wire down to 2 ohms and get about 1100 out of my amp if i went sealed. I've got some extra wood from the real box, and i thought that i could make a box to take up only one seat for when i want to take an extra person, but still have some sound. I don't see a ported working because i couldnt make the port big enough i dont think, maybe i'm wrong. Anybody ever sealed a BL 18? I doubt too many have, but what would it sound like? (also, when i say small, max dimensions that id like to use are: 23H*17-18D*22W, which is 4.4 cu ft after wood displacement.) PS: regular box is 6 cu ft tuned to 34 hz, so please d…
